Birkenstock Gizeh’s-great alternative to traditional thongs! I have several pairs of Birkenstock Gizeh sandals and have found them extremely comfortable, with great support and the way the sandals fit my foot, I've discovered the back shoe bed keeps the bottom of my feet from getting dirty and cracked. Other sandals do not provide this kind of fit. I was concerned that the part of the Gizeh style that goes around the big toe might be uncomfortable but NOT AT ALL! I don't even feel it. I love the Gizeh style - true Birkenstock quality in all ways.

Birkenstock Gizeh - These are my first pair of Birkenstocks and I really love them, the foot bed took no time to break in, though the right foot took a while to get used to the thong between the toes, they look really nice on the feet and are very comfortable and I will be ordering another pair of Birkenstocks soon.

Wonderful sandal - This is my 4th or 5th pair. They look great on my wide feet, comfy, and the plastic between the toes does not bother me. I always receive compliments when I wear these sandals.

False Alarm!!! I'm keeping them! In my previous comment, I said that this shoe is marked 1.5-size larger. Untrue. It's only a full size larger than marked. I tightened the buckle one notch and the fit is now perfect! I'm soo happy. And so it is: 36 European IS 6 to 6.5 American size. Zappos, I'm keeping this shoe after returning 4 shoes with you. Thank you for your amazing system and service!

Man, it's still too big! I was so excited to receive this order and thought that this time around, I'll get to keep (and not return) shoes from Zappos. This shoe is marked "37 European size = 6 to 6.5 American size." Untrue. 36 European size is 6 to 6.5. I'm usually a 6.5. However, even with the 36 European, the shoe is still too big! I can't believe I have to return this again to get the 35 European. So sorry, Zappos. I have to return again. I hope you still have this in 35 European.

Yeah for Birkenstocks - Birkenstocks are my favorite shoes. The Gizeh is my favorite of the favorites. In fact, if I could have a pair in every color, I would. I also love Zappos service. I was very happy with the ordering process and return policy.

Great travel shoe - I ordered a pair of Birkenstock Gizeh sandals and took them to Europe with me. I had tried a pair on at a local store and found a size I liked before ordering at Zappos. My luggage was lost for 6 days and all I had were my Birkenstocks, but I was never uncomfortable and was very glad that I had worn these on the plane. Great purchase. I will probably order a pair of more enclosed Birkenstocks for the winter.

Love them - I’m normally an 8.5 and ordered 8 (38). They fit perfectly. They took a couple wears to conform to my feet but now they are perfect, and have great support. I like that they're not the regular Birkenstock look-- they're kind of modern and sexy.

Don’t hate me because my shoes are beautiful! Great shoes, amazingly comfortable after a couple uses. I was worried about the sizes since everybody said to order one size smaller. I ordered one size smaller than I would normally and they feel perfect.

So happy - I love this sandal. I have very flat feet and I have tried tons and tons of sandals. This is the ONLY one that feels great, offers great support, and even looks cute with skirts or dresses. I can walk all over the city in them, and I get compliments on them too. I highly recommend these. I got them in a 39 even though I’m usually a 40, and they fit well.

This is a great shoe!! It only took a day or two to break them in, and now they're the most comfortable shoe I've got. Birks are great in general...but this style is really good looking. I'm usually a 7, and I ordered a 38, fits fine.

I love my Birkenstock Gizeh's - Just like other reviewers have said, I ordered one full size smaller than my usual Birk size, but the same width as usual, and they are a perfect fit for me. I LOVE these sandals!!!! They will be my summer staple! They did take a couple of weeks to break in, but worth it! Great shoes!!!!

Love these!!! This is my third pair and I love them. As others have said, I wear a size down. I normally wear a size 6+ and wear a 36 in these. I've had absolutely no problems with breaking in. I even wear a pair of these as slippers since they're so comfortable.

The comfort rating of 5 stars is AFTER you break them in. This does take time, and the thong is a a bit harder to get used to than other thongs I have worn--but now I don't want to wear any other sandal!

Gizeh - Perfect all 'round casual sandal for comfort, style and color!

Comfortable organic look from Birkenstock! These sandals are SO comfortable, and the arch support is excellent. The black glossy leather creates a stylish "organic" look that is perfect with jeans or casual skirts. Great quality sandal from Birkenstock!

Love this shoe - The color is really terrific! Like a rich bordeaux wine color. The comfort is amazing ( I have the hardest feet to fit with shoes). However, I took the advice and got this a size smaller and they fit perfectly. I am normally a size 6-6 1/2M and I got 35normal. I will buy this again in different colors and patterns. I'm not clear on the comments about the thong. If you wear flip flops one should be used to wearing something like this. Cheers

Awesome except for the toe part - I have gotten lots of compliments over this sandal. It is very comfortable, but I have to say the least comfortable of my other Birks. First, I got a mega blister under my 3rd metatarsal while first wearing them. I have been using Body Glide to make this easier to wear and this works wonders. I am hoping that in time, I won't need it. Now as for the toe part, it doesn’t cause me blisters, but it does hurt. For some reason, I keep sliding my foot forward and it hits between my big and 2nd toe and this hurts! I have not lost hope; I will continue to break them in, if this is what it is. But if it keeps hurting, I guess I will just stop wearing them. As for the fit, the 35 wide works great as a perfect fit for me. I am a true size 5 and this size works.

Perfect one size smaller than normal. Based on the other reviews, I bought a 40 (normally a 41) in Graceful Toffee which is a nice brown with bronze shimmer. Totally pleased. Not to short or wide, long or narrow, with the caveat of buying down a size.

I’m a guy and I wear these! I first bought these 9 years ago in black patent. I received so many compliments and they were so comfortable. I wore them out. I think they are chic and guys can wear them. I bought a size smaller than I normally wear, since that is the largest available but they fit. I’m glad they are now available in real leather.

Adding to my collection - This is one of the most comfortable and durable sandals I have ever bought - I have half a dozen pairs of the Gizeh in assorted colors and patterns. I have a very high arch/instep and have problems with many t-strap styles - this is very comfortable in both leather and birkiflor fabrics.

Gorgeous Red Sandals - It was love at first sight. Zappos didn't have my size (42R) in the Boudeaux, so I actually bought them elsewhere. But let me say that this is a great-looking sandal. The leather is a clear, rich red--not an outdated drab burgundy or a fire-engine red--and it looks nice on my foot. The Gizeh is much more graceful than the traditional Birkenstock 2-strap sandal, which I've worn since high school. I think this looks more polished & stylish enough to wear to work, out to dinner, etc. I have high arches and need supportive sandals--it's nice to find a pair that are actually sexy and good for my feet. I deducted a star because they're a bit stiff at first, like every other pair of Birks I've owned. I can feel a blister forming on the top of my foot where the strap rubs, but the leather is already softening.

Birkenstock Gizeh - Adorable sandals! The toe thong took me a few days to get completely used to - the way this shoe is made isn't quite as comfortable as the Taboras at first. However, they are now just as comfortable as all of my other Birks! (Sizing tip: I take a 40N in all lines of Birkenstocks, but just like another person said, I had to get 39R because of the way this particular style fits.)

My Favorite Berkie - My Gizeh sandals are my favorite pair of shoes. They are by far the most comfortable shoes I own. I only wish I lived in a climate where I could wear them all year round.

BEST SANDALS FOR PROPER FOOT ALIGNMENT - In the Gizeh I have to buy them one size smaller and in the regular width for proper fit. I normally wear a 36N. In these I got a 35R. They do take a while to break in for the toe bar, BUT they are definately worth it. They are beautiful on and extremely comfortable! LOVE EM
