These are a lovely color, but the fit is small. I ordered the same size as my Helen's from last year but they did not fit - the length seemed shorter and my toes were over the side, and the width is narrower. Will go to a retail store to see if I need a larger size or a different shoe.

I have always loved Mephisto Helen's -- they were the shoe that helped me overcome Plantar Faciitis, and i have had numberous pair since -- but it seems like they are being made narrower. I tried to go up a size and the edge of my big toe still hits the raised edge of the shoe uncomfortable. So sad!!

So bummed. Like others I ordered too small, I normally wear a size 8 or maybe a size 8 1/2 so I ordered the 8 and had to swap them for a size 9. But the size 9 arrived today and while I've never even considered the width of my feet my pinky toes are hanging off the side!! So weird! I definitely don't have wide feet. I was so excited as I'm in desperate need of new comfortable sandals but I may give up and try a different brand now, since I definitely won't fit in a 10.

Super cute shoe, but I had to return them because my toes hung over the edge. I wear a 12, but my 2nd, 3rd and 4th toe are quite long. Because of the shoe's design, the 12 was still too small.

I love Memphisto and this is my second pair, I love the brand for comfort totally. But with that said I wish the color was true to description, red scratch IS RUST! It was not a blue red like I had hoped, it's been over a month of me trying to find a comfortable RED sandal. I kept it cause $150.00 I want a sandal. I can handle the earth tone color, it's just not what I hoped for.

I have always loved Mephistos and have had many pairs! These, however, seemed narrower than all the ones I have had previously. Also, the leather didn't seem to be of the same quality as it was in previous pairs. I really wanted these to work out; was looking forward to a new pair.

In my experience these run narrow. I've never required a wide shoe, yet the outside of my feet hung off the sides. Sadly Zappos does not carry the wide version. Otherwise these are super comfortable.

I had such high hopes for this shoe, but the footbed contour did not help with my neuroma. They are cute for earth shoes, less chunky than Birkenstocks. Just not right for me. I had to return them.

I bought the sandals in sz 40, typically I buy sz. 39, 38 in Birkenstock, or 8.5-9, but sized up for these sandals based on reviews. The sandals fit well, but felt long. They do not look attractive to me. I did not like that they flop when walking. This is completely different from Birkenstock Mauri that feel like they are hugging your feet and make a pleasure to walk on. The Helen soles felt stiff. Unfortunately, I'm returning the sandals, but planning to get another color in Birkestocks Mauri.

I purchased these in the Fuchsia Patent. The color is more fluorescent pink than fuchsia, and the patent pretty stiff. In particular, the pieces of patent leather which goes in between the big and second toes has a hard edge and cut into my toes, so no can do. If I stood completely still and put the cutting out of my mind, the soles of my feet were in heaven -- very comfortable and loved the molded shape. I'll try in a softer material (not patent) with my fingers crossed!

Not for those with bunions! Lovely shoe but rubs against big toe. So sad, I'll have to send them back!

I have this shoe in several different colors but this platinum does not fir like any of the other leather or suede ones. I will try a different color and see if any better. Beware of the platunum...gorgeous color but very poor fit! One shoe way wider than the other..poor quality color for a moderately expensive shoe!

LOVED THE COLOR i PURCHASED SIMILAR STYLE IN A SUEDE LAST YEAR BUT THIS WAS A PATENT WHICH IS MUCH HARDER MATERIAL AND HURTS MY TOES.

I liked the look and feel of these initially, but after a few months of wear the leather strap that goes diagonal across the foot to the toe area has stretched out so much on both sandals that they are no longer comfortable, my foot slides all over and the sandal feels like it's falling off. I wish there was an adjustable strap for both major straps of these sandals. I didn't get much wear from these and will not purchase again.

I so wanted to love this sandal. The styling, arch support and suede footbed are great. However, after 2 days of trying to break them in, the stiffness and weight of the shoes are just too uncomfortable for walking any distance. A costly mistake.

Not the same quality that Mephisto used to be. I still have my older pair of black Helen sandals. You can see that the new sandal fit is wider and for a larger foot. The diagonal strap is longer and bulges. The leather is stiffer and less comfortable. The cork is also stiffer so the feel of the sandal is harder and doesn't flex when you walk. I'm sending my older pairs to be refurbished.

I am so bummed! I desperately wanted to love these - I would have settled for "like these," but I cannot figure out how to get them to stay on my feet. When I first slipped them on and stood still they were marvelous, so soft (I mean really soft), great support. However, as soon as I started walking they just slipped off my feet. I mean my feet slipped farther and farther back. I tightened the buckle, loosened the buckle; neither worked to keep them on my feet. That is unsafe. Needless to say I will be returning them, and I really am so disappointed. The platinum color is very pretty, shinier than I had anticipated, but lively. Best of all, of course, is Zappos, who continues to be amazing!

I have been wearing Mephisto Helen sandals for years - this is my first return. Sandal is a bit narrower and the toe very uncomfortable. What happened?

The thong that sits between your toes has broken on two pairs of these, well before they rest of the sandal was in disrepair. Cobbler cannot fix them, and it hurts to throw away so much money. Comfy, great for walking, and they lasted all summer both times, but shame on me for buying them again that second time. The leather there is just too thin to last.

I am not impressed with these shoes. They are giving me blisters and are not as comfortable as my much cheaper Teva sandals. I am really disappointed.

I love these shoes but I really need a half size. They are cushy and supportive but just a little too small in an 8 and a little too large in a 9. I would have bought them in a couple of colors if they had fit properly.

I wanted to keep these as the footbed felt absolutely wonderful. However the toe strap cut into my foot and felt uncomfortable. I couldn't risk waiting to see if the leather would stretch so sadly I had to return them. Thank you Zappos for the easy return.

I was recently diagnosed with plantar fasciitis and was looking for a comfortable sandals with good arch support. These are nice sandals but there are not quite supportive enough for my feet. I bought the snake pattern with gold and they are super cute. As others have mentioned sizing is very small. I normally wear a size 11 or 42 in European sizes but I had to size up to 43 and they're a little bit long but the 42's just barely fit. As far as wearing them in- I did get a blister on the top of my foot after I wore them for a few hours. Since then I've been wearing them around the house and they're okay but I was expecting more for the price and the rave reviews.

Nice sandal but for the price, I am not to impressed with comfort. I had ordered size 6 which is my normal size. Had blister on my toe due to strap rubbing on toe.

So, main reason why I'm writing a review is because I've loved Mephisto shoes for awhile. I recently got these, and the footbed is completely different. The comfort has gone down in comparison to my older pairs. There must have been some update to the shoes.
