Had a pair several years ago and wore them to death, was very happy to find them on Zappos, ordered 2 pair! Great arch support and over all comfort.

I really like this sandal. It has comfort and style. The straps are a little stiff but I think they will loosen over time. The silver is a little shiny. This is my second pair of Mephisto's. They hold up really well and get more comfortable with time.

This is my first pair of Mephisto, but it won't be my last. The arch support is awesome, and in a sandal that's cute as well as comfortable. I normally wear a 10 in a shoe, and a 9.5 in a sandal, so I ordered a 40, but had to send them back and go to a 41; so I would say that these run a trifle short, but with Zappos, that's not a problem. I love the fact that these sandals look so good, while providing such excellent support.

I've been buying Mephisto's Helen for years because they are so comfortable and have great arch support for my high arches. This year I was pleased to see that it comes in new colors. I love the Tangerine! This color fits better width-wise than the usual Brown Waxy, which is wide for my A-width foot. Maybe this is just a fluke or maybe Mephisto is making them slightly more narrow, but the straps on the Tangerine fit more snugly. I still have to adjust the cross-strap to make them tighter but that's okay. I didn't buy the Brown Waxy this year so I can't compare the two colors. I've found that the leather straps on the metallic styles are not as thick as the waxy leather, and they're looser right out of the box, so I imagined they would stretch out more and I'd be walking out of them after wearing them a few times.

These are great-looking sandals and exceptionally well-made. Nice cushy arch support, and I didn't have the big toe problem other reviewers have mentioned. Unfortunately their idea of a "B" width doesn't match up with mine. I ordered the nearest size up from my half-size, and that usually works, but these are just too narrow. I guess since these are vaguely Birkenstockish I expected the same kind of Birky fit, but they don't fit the same way at all. I'll be trading them in for a pair of "Helen Plus" and hopefully those will work better.

These sandals are very comfortable with a good arch support. The down side is that the straps keep stretching. I am on the last hole and may have to have another one punched. For the price they need to come up with a solution for this.

Great shoes, but, since they changed where they were made from Portugal to France, the differences are noticeable. The ridge on the sides at the top are such that they rub in a way that you get a blister on your big toe side. Not nearly as good as before. I buy these for the great arch support.

These are very stylish but they are too wide for my feet which tend to be narrow. Finding sandals to fit is difficult as most are too wide.

I am surprised to find that the left shoe, which is my bigger foot is too loose, the "long" strap is looser than on my right foot. Sadly, these are going back.

Very comfortable, good looking sandal the 37 was too small, but the 38 is a little big - wish there were half sizes.

My fourth pair of Mephistos; comfortable shoes. Great for touring museums and art galleries. In the summer I don't leave home without them.

I'm surprised these run narrow, for such a popular sandal. I got the blue star color--it's shiny, and I like it! However, I bought them to wear to a wedding, but decided on a different dress, and I'm afraid these won't go with much else in my wardrobe. That, plus the narrowness makes them iffy (the wide Helen Plus come in very few colors, and to mixed reviews). I suppose I will try a more basic color eventually. They are cute shoes!

These shoes fit me perfectly and were a beautiful color, but they squeaked when I walked! Seemed to be from buckle area but can't be sure. Anyone else have this problem? Must go back, too much of a gamble to keep if it doesn't go away with use. Cannot return after use.

Left shoe rotated slightly so heel sitting on edge of heel cup...had to go back. Two other pair of same shoe in different colors didn't have this problem.

I ordered these and was surprised to find that they ran a tad bit narrow on me. My foot actually hung over a fraction of an inch, but enough that I could tell when I walked. I have never had to order a wide in the past. I decided to order the Mephisto Hannel and found that they were what I needed! Mephisto's rock. I had my first pair for 8 years!!! Not sure why these were a tad bit narrow on me but very happy to report that the Hannel fit me well. Customer service was 2 thumbs up!

These sandals are beautiful - however, as suggested I ordered one size up (a 7 instead of a 6) and they were too big! Very long and narrow. I do not suggest ordering a whole size up so if you are a 6 1/2, then sure order a 7. Otherwise stay with your shoe size - also keep in mind these are not for wide feet.

A good shoe I have worn in the past. Much more expensive now but if you have back pain and want a sandal this one has good cushioning. It is all around a good possibility especially for those with back problems.

I bought these shoes specifically to wear during a trip to Paris. I knew I would be walking a lot and had heard from another owner that were terrific. I agree. We walked all over Paris and my feet were comfortable. My only issue was that after the first couple of days of wearing the shoe, it grew! I had to buckle in one notch. Even now they feel much larger than when I first got them.

Very cute - I love the green patent leather. They seem slightly narrow to me - or maybe that's just compared to Birkenstocks which run a lot wider. I wear a 7.5 in 'normal' shoes and an 8 in sandals and running shoes - the 8 in this fit well (if anything slightly smaller than a usual sandal size 8). The sole is super comfortable - very padded but also has good arch support. The strap across my big toe is rubbing a little when I wear them for a full day but I think I just need to get my feet used to them after being coddled in clogs & sheepskin-lined boots all winter. I only gave 4 stars since it seems that they have a break-in period which I wasn't expecting (again, maybe just my 'tender' feet) but they are very well made, light enough to walk in all day, & a very cute style.

The shoe is attractive and overall quite comfortable. The only detraction is that the thong is straight and the edge between the toes is a little irritating.

I love these shoes. They do run a bit small, I always wear a 9 or 8.5, but I had to return the first pair to get a size 10, which fits me great. It's also a bit narrow compared to most sandals. Still fits, but just barely. Ultimately I'm very happy with my purchase. I gave it a 4 out of 5 stars due to the size issue and narrowness of fit.

I've worn Mephistos for years, and was trying to replace a worn pair. I got the nubuck thinking they would be easier to break in; however, the leather around the toe is a bit stiff. I'm sure they will eventually give, and this is still the most fashionable comfort shoe company!

I wear Mephisto shoes 95 percent of the time and this style for about 10 years. They offer superior support and hold my knees in place. I wear a size 37 AAAA and have no problem in adjusting the width with the straps. However, the workmanship on the soles has declined, as they do not finish the soles. I find that the soles of the shoes for the last two years are not finished along the edge and this causes me to stumble or fall, especially on carpets. I have had my cobbler finish the soles by grinding a bevel along the base of the sole all the way around. This helps a lot.

The shoes are good looking, but they seem smaller than the brown leather ones I already have, and the strap between the toes hurts. It will take some breaking in. Didn't have that with the others.

I found these shoes comfortable and attractive for a comfort sandal, but they are just too long, and a bit wide for my foot, so they are being returned. I hope this does not mean Mephisto has changed their sizing.
