Worth every penny - I was on vacation in Hawaii, and my flip-flop sandals were killing my feet. I bought these as a last resort at Walking In Paradise, thanks to an expert salesperson. I have a bad ankle and high arches. I can walk 10 hours a day in these shoes. No pain. I just hope to find something for the winter months just as good. I'm a size 8.5 and wide. She fitted me in a size 9 and it's perfect.

I love these shoes. I bought these shoes as a third pair since I sent my two previous pairs into Mephisto for "rehab." Did you know that you can have your Mephisto sandals completely redone(I think)? They come back "brand new." So the price for Mephistos is definitely worth it. My husband has some that have been "redone" 3 times!

Mephisto Helen - They should be called Mephisto heaven. I don't have problem feet but the comfort of this style is addictive. I'm neglecting my other sandals. No break in and they look great with everything! My teenager loves them too so they get a two thumbs up!

The price is totally reasonable! The past weekend I was in San Francisco trying on a pair of Helen in Tan Grain color in size 37. They not only look good but fit perfectly for my size 7 medium feet. That walking shoe store was packed with shoppers buying comfortable walking shoes. In San Francisco downtown, one doesn't skimp on shoes. They (and the tourists) rely on their walking shoes to carry them from point to point without crying out loud (from hurt feet). It pays to have shoes that made and designed well for the purpose of walking. If you had fallen arches like I have, try Mephisto Helen, you will not be disappointed.

This is my first pair of Mephisto sandals and it will not be my last. I was able to comfortably wear them from Day 1 which is unusual for me. The support they provide is phenomenal... perfect for my arch, heel and toe area.

Fabulous - LOVE this sandal. I suffered from plantar fasciitis for over a year and can't wear just any ol' sandal but these are wonderful. Worth every penny!!

Great arch support! Very comfy, good support for arch and cushion for whole foot. The unadjustable part of the leather strap gets loose with wear and can make the sandal a little sloppy feeling. They look very attractive for something so comfortable...

Podiatrist weighs in - Love these sandals...the closest thing you can get to an orthotic in a sandal....will only be comfortable if you have a moderate to high arched foot...this is a no flat feet zone....

Mephisto Helen - The first time that I wore this shoe it cut my second toe, I guess because the patent leather was a little stiff. Once I broke them in they were wonderful.

Love this Shoe - This is my first (and not my last) Helen. No breaking in time. They are very comfortable and I like the look. My foot is narrow and it works well. I normally wear a 7 -- I bought the 38.

Best arch support - This is my 3rd pair of Mephisto's Helen. I have extremely high arches. I purchased the last pair just before a trip to Boston, where we did a lot of walking. My feet did not hurt. I get lots of compliments on this shoe.

Very good - I love Helen sandals. At first I wasn't sure because I got a few blisters but after I wore them for a week I was fine... I used to suffer from plantar fasciitis but after I started using these sandals it was gone... I love them feels like you are not wearing any shoes. Oh also I love Zappos they are fast and easy.

Sandal heaven! This is my second pair of "Helens" and won't be my last! I've tried everyone else - these Mephistos are the best! The straps take a day or two to break in but they are comfortable to wear for long periods of time.... and I've gotten many compliments on them. I hope Mephisto never discontinues this style.

Mephisto Helen - I love my Mephisto Helen in the light brown nubuck. I ordered them in the black, but the buckle squeaked when I walked. So I returned them as I don't like to squeak when walking on carpet. My brown shoes are the most comfortable shoes I own... I can walk all day in them. Just wish the black didn't squeak.

Mephisto Helen - One of the best sandals I have ever worn. I have a slim foot and this style has a strap that adjusts perfectly to a narrower foot--I've even had an extra hole put in the strap. I have this sandal in many colors and love it! I wear a 9 1/2 normal shoe and ordered a 40 in this one. Perfect.

Mephisto Helen - I love this sandal. I have had a pair since 1998 and plan on ordering a pair after several years of wear. I wear this sandal almost exclusively in the summer. It is dressy enough for the office and casual enough for the weekend. This sandal has worn very well and is an excellent value and investment.

My first Mephistos - These shoes are wildly comfortable. I've never owned Mephistos before (or Birkenstocks, or any other similarly-styled shoe), and I'm an instant convert. (I actually ordered a pair of Birkenstocks from Zappos first, but was not crazy about them; I returned them and ordered these Mephistos--and I love them.)

This is my second pair! I love this sandal. I bought my first pair in 2000 and wore them into the ground. The patent leather is fun and gives them some style. I think that it makes them look less like a "comfort shoe."

A great sandal - After some minor break-in around the house on a few occasions, this sandal feels great. Terrific arch support and very comfortable.

Comfort in the Concrete Jungle - As a New Yorker, for those who do not know, walking is tough on your feet, legs and back. These sandals are 5 stars all the way and I plan to order them in other colors. What adds to their structural and comfort benefits is that they are very smart looking. Worth the investment, without question.

Mephisto shoes - Love the style and fit of this sandal. I have been experiencing plantar fasciitis in both feet and this sandal has allowed me to feel as if I am barefooted once again. Podiatrist advised me that if this style is working for me, to buy more than one pair. So now I am the proud owner of three pair of Mephisto Helen's. I chose this style because of the great arch support.

I wear nothing else - I have these in almost every color and have gone thru about 3 pairs in this color alone. I have had bunions removed and a stress fracture in my foot and these are the only shoes to wear. I live in sunny Florida so these are worn year round.

Mephisto shoes are the best - I own a black pair and beige pair of the Mephisto Helen and I love this shoe! The shoe fits like a glove. I have fallen arches and it doesn't rub or give my feet cramps like Birkenstocks. This shoe doesn't need a break in period. I did order one size larger than I normally wear. Awesome shoes!

Can’t take them off! I chose this shoe because I wanted to update my Birkenstock look and wanted something a little more stylish than the Arizona. I think these are the most comfortable shoes I've ever bought. I went to a party the other day, and carried my party shoes in my bag until I got to the front door, then switched shoes. My feet would rather be in these shoes than anything else.
