I think these are the cutest sandals! Unfortunately, I wore them right away outside before I gave them a test run on a carpeted floor so I can't return them. I purchased these at the beginning of May and have only worn them twice because, while the foot bed, arch, etc. are great, the leather over the top of the foot is stiff, rough, and hard, causing incredible blisters and sores. I wear a half size and it was suggested on the website that I order a full size larger than what I would normally wear. Meaning, that put me in a size 10 instead of an 8 1/2. I can wear these if I am not going to walk far. Sadly, they are the cutest red sandals at the bottom of my closet.

Very comfortable shoe, molds to your foot. Great arch support. I like the slightly higher foot bed. I own three pair!

I absolutely LOVE these shoes. For comfort, they definitely excel above other cork bed sandals. I have numerous pair of Birkenstocks which I enjoy wearing in the summer; however, the Mephisto Helen is a snugger fit and has a raised heel bed which makes them ideal for longer-term walking. To tell you how well these shoes served me, I took these and another pair of durable walking shoes on a one-month trip to China, India, Turkey and Egypt; after hours upon hours of walking, my feet never hurt nor did the shoe cause any blisters! I will definitely buy another pair.

This is my second pair of Mephistos, this time I have the blue buckskin Helens. The first pair was a similar style and it took me a few years to really wear them ragged although they're still completely wearable. The Helens are completely comfortable and I did not have to break them in at all. I wear a 9-9 1/2, occasionally a 10 if a shoe runs very small, but in these shoes, as with all Mephistos I wear a 39. Highly recommended.

Love these sandals!! Bought a pair in black and brown I loved them so much. Felt true to size. Took me a little while to break them in - stiff around the toes but they feel great now!!

The sandals are my favorite and as soon as the weather breaks, I have them on all day. I wear them everywhere, and with all my outfits. The fit, comfort, and arch support are wonderful.

Run true to size for me -I'm an American 8. Had to try a few pair as the uppers differed and took me a few to find the perfect strap comfort around my big toe. My almost most favorite shoe! I wear these nearly everyday from May through October! They are very casual so when I want something a bit more feminine but casual/comfortable I go with the Mephisto Babata style thong. Love these too! I have widish B width feet and bunions yet this footbed is plenty wide enough for me.This shoe manages to give me excellent arch support, heel stability and enough cushion so that I can stand on them for hours and hours. My feet stay cool and dry in even the hottest weather. I haven't tried walking long distances in these, for that I use Chacos with a back strap. (I also have backless Chacos for flat surface, wet adventures). Chacos soles are nearly as supportive as Mephistos for me - but only for outdoor physical stuff since I prefer the natural fiber feel of Mephistos for all around wear. Mephisto GETS how to make shoes that support even the most sensitive skeletons! Great boots, too! - My back, knees, ankles, and feet are in much better shape wearing these. Worth every penny, they wear for years and years and you can have them resoled! I love all my Mephistos - but my "Helen" sandals are the most often worn.

Love this shoe!! I first stumbled upon the Mephisto brand when seeking a sandal that was not manufactured in China. Never having heard of this brand I was a little wary at first but, as the footbed is similar to a Birk, I thought I'd give them a try. Glad I did! Well made, comfortable and worth the money. Two thumbs up!

This sandal is wonderful - I'm on my second pair. My first pair lasted for several years, even with lots of wear at a job where I was on my feet for several hours a day. I've sold shoes (including this brand) for five years, and I do not think they run small. I think they run a little long, if anything. They're just not a very wide sandal, and there is a ridge along the edges of the footbed. So, if you have been trying to squeeze into a sandal size that is really too small for you, these may not work or you may have to go a size up. I'm a true 7.5, and the 37 fits perfectly in these, but my feet are on the narrow side.

I LOVE MEPHISTOS. I used to be a diehard Birkenstock fan, and a lady at a locally owned store convinced me to try the Mephistos. I have loved them (and worn them most days) ever since. Very little break-in time. I bought my second pair from Zappos. Longer sole life than Birkenstocks, and I am a heel-dragger! Mephistos mold to your feet over time and feel just as awesome when they are a few years old as they did right out of the box.

\r\nSince I bought my first pair about 8 years ago, these are the only shoes I wear for six month of the year. They look beautiful and are super comfortable - and they are very durable. I got my first pair for half price, otherwise I don\'t know if I would have tried them. But once I did I was hooked. These are one of the few things in my life that I don\'t mind paying full price for. They are absolutely worth it. \r\n\r\nI would be careful of the suggestion to order a size larger than your normal shoe size. Last year was the first time I had ordered them on line and I could not remember what size I had worn in the past - I usually get them at a shoe store where I try them on, and the size had had worn off of my most recent pair. I ordered a size larger and spent a wretched couple of months last summer feeling like I just couldn't break the new pair in. It dawned on me slowly that I might have ordered the wrong size. I just ordered my usual shoe size, and to my delight they fit perfectly - no breaking in required. In the meantime I have a barely worn pair a size too big - a very expensive mistake! I guess the lesson is that they should feel exactly right, right out of the box. If not, send them back and try a different size. Zappos generously pays postage both ways, and although their website says delivery will take several days, I have never had it take more than 2.

I have these slide sandals in black patent and they truly are the most comfortable shoes I have ever owned. I usually take size 7, but was told to buy size 8 and the 8 fits very, very well. The soles mold to your feet after a few weeks of wearing. I truly cannot say enough about this particular Mephisto. The price is well worth paying, for the comfort you will receive from these shoes. I am now going to buy the red patent shoes and may buy a pair in brown also. These were the first Mephisto shoes I ever bought and I love them. For a comfortable and light weight slide, this is the one to purchase.

This shoe is so cute and so comfortable. I ordered it in the yellow and decided to order the orange, too. I’ve only worn them around the house so far as we are still dealing with the flood. I know some have suggested ordering them a size larger, but I ordered the size I normally wear and they fit perfectly. Zappos is the greatest.

The best sandals ever and even better service from Zappos! I ordered my sandals yesterday evening and they are already here when I am done with my breakfast! This is my third pair of Helen, this time in gold etna. They are not too bright and shiny as I was afraid they might be but very pleasant shade between gold and bronze. They feel too tight at first (my feet are a little swollen today) but are exactly the same size as my other pairs so I hope they'll break in a bit. I am ordering next size up (37) to try just to make sure I get the right size. With easy no-hassle return process this is probably the best shopping experience I had online.
