I bought these in khaki, and then in red. They are the most comfortable sandals ever. I thought that they would look too "sensible", but they have a cool funky look to them. I am always in search of comfortable shoes since I have terrible arthritis in my toes from 20+ years of running.

My foot started hurting and I could not find a pair of shoes that could help, until I found these. I like cute shoes and for what these shoes are they are pretty nice looking. I got the bronze color which is really nice color. These shoes are very comfortable. I bought a 1/2 size up which I would not do again as they stretched just a bit. My Mom loved the look of them and tried them on and I had to order her a pair from Zappos (her first order) and she could not believe how quickly they arrived. Overall, I could walk all day at Disneyland in these and my foot would not hurt.

Amazing! I am a tried and true Birkenstock lover. Trying the Mephisto was a gamble, but I wanted a little bit different look, and with Zappos' great shipping I couldn't resist! Glad I did, these shoes are amazing. Comfortable and stylish!

These sandals are extremely comfortable. I usually can't wear anything between my toes, but because the piece between the toes is flat and not round, it is very comfortable and doesn't cause blisters. It is a good sturdy shoe and yet, because of the gold color, they are fashionable and go with everything. I love them. This is the first pair of shoes I bought after foot surgery and I wear them every day. Highly recommended!

This pair of Mephistos Helen is my third. The shoe fits my foot perfectly. Normally, I wear size 8 and I wear size 8 in the Helen style. These shoes are my regular pair, even when it gets chilly outside, and I tend to wear them out. Very comfy for my slightly narrow foot. Zappos was great, too! Thanks!

Love these sandals! I am a podiatrist, so I am always looking for comfortable, supportive shoes to recommend to my patients. Well these sandals are perfect, have good arch support and are actually cute! The spice patent perle is a great neutral color and the patent gives them an extra sparkle. Only downside is they are a little heavy compared to most sandals, but that usually comes with a more supportive shoe. I usually wear between a 9 and 10 depending on the shoe and I went with the 10 (size 40) on these. If you like Dansko shoes, then you should definitely give these a try.

This is my third pair of patent leather Mephistos. I have them in 6 colors right now. Comfortable and attractive.

Have worn Birks since 1971, even in the Winter! Located these, put them on, they haven\'t come off. Wasn\'t certain if I was going to like the toe holder, not a problem...something tells me that my Birks are getting replaced or at least given a break!

This is a great everyday shoe that will keep your feet and legs feeling wonderful. Save the heels for the night; these sandals look really good for daytime trots.

Excellent in every way. I've worn this style for ten (?) years. Only now have had to replace them. They are so comfortable and supportive. I always get compliments on the style (I guess they must look cute on vs. orthopedic). Mephisto is moving forward and trying to rock some actual fashion lately, but Helen has always been there, and I've been told, always will be, as it is their best seller. Buy them now. You will not regret it. Seriously!

These shoes are very comfortable. I am on my feet all day at work and have trouble finding nice looking flat sandles that offer support. These are a bit "hippie" looking for my taste, but the bronze color makes them a bit dressier than the other colors. My daughter tried mine and loved them, so now she has a pair as well. The leather does stretch a bit after prolonged wear (I\'m talking 8+ hours a day for several days in a row)\r\nI would like to find this kind of comfort in a slightly dressier shoe, but I love these shoes even if they don\'t scream style!\r\n\r\nAlso a quick shout out to Zappos and the awesome service they provide!

After wearing flip flops all summer I\'ve discovered that I\'m having issues with plantar fasciitis. I have worn Birkenstocks in the past but they make me look like I have duck feet. I came upon the Mephistos as recommended for people with PF and thought I\'d give them a try since I had a Zappos credit. My Birks are all 38\'s and I wear between a 7 1/2 and an 8 so I ordered the 38\'s. They arrived today and I excitedly tried them on and I have to say I\'m not impressed. They feel very narrow and my toes hang off the sides. I do not have overly wide feet either. I went ahead and ordered them again in the 39 and am really hoping they work since all the reviews say such nice things and they are a cute shoe. I am going to keep the 38\'s for now to compare to the 39\'s but I may have to return both pairs and just stick with my Birks.

Love these shoes! These are my 3rd pair of Mephistos, first in this style. They fit true to size; I wear a 6 1/2 US and ordered the 37, and they're perfect. They mold to your feet beautifully after a few wearings. I'm sure I'll be wearing these for many summers to come.

Mephisto always proves to be comfortable and good for my feet. I am on my feet most of the day and the Helen style is a winner; I usually do not like straps between my toes, but this style is very easy to get used to and has excellent arch support. I have this style in a variety of colors and have always been quite satisfied. Great for walking. My daughter wore this style Mephisto all over Europe without a problem!

I would love to have a pair of these in every color. These sandals are superior in construction and comfort, better than barefoot. Not all Mephistos have this foot bed, so if I am considering another Mephisto shoe, I check to see if it has the Helen footbed or something equivalent. True to size, these sandals feel like they were made for me. Highly recommended.

Very comfortable shoe, but slightly granola/orthopedic looking (but hey, that's the appeal for many). More support than the other pair of Mephistos I own. The leather is soft (I purchased the dark brown scratch), but I have seen some of the other colors and noticed that the leather was quite stiff. So depending on what color you purchase, the leather can range from stiff to soft. My toes hit the very edge of the shoe and at first I thought that would be a problem, but so far so good. I have plantar fasciitis in both feet and I wear these around the house to avoid going barefoot on our hard floors. They help with my p.f. symptoms and are comfortable for long walks. Highly recommend (if you order a color with a softer leather and don't mind looking a bit granola).

Let's face it, there are multitudes of shoe manufacturers out there, but their main goal, with few exceptions, is simply to sell shoes; fashionable shoes that "all the stars are wearing." Heel heights have reached new levels as have trips to the chiropractor and medical specialists for younger and younger women. I applaud companies like Mephisto for maintaining their integrity and producing footwear that is not only attractive, but good for your feet. Helen is a Mephisto mainstay. It's a sandal you can walk in all day and your feet won't give out; all due to it's excellent arch support and comfortable footbed. Some find them a bit pricey, but the cost is nothing considering the workmanship you are buying and the fact that these sandals will last years and years and provide a kindness to your feet and spine few other companies care to provide.

I live in Birmingham, Alabama. I ordered two pair of Mephisto sandals from Zappos one morning, and they arrived the next day. They were just as I expected they would be, and I kept both pair. I was very impressed with no shipping charges nor any return charges should I not want the shoes. I will order from Zappos again.

This is my third pair (different color) of this sandal since 2006. They are incredibly comfortable and hold up well to hard use. I\'ve tried other options and always come back to wearing these!

This is my third pair of Mephisto Helens, having walked the tread off my other two pairs over the last several years (I think I bought the first pair in 2000).I find these to be the perfect summer sandal, supportive enough of my feet and springy enough that I don't feel like I'm walking barefoot on the unforgiving New York City sidewalks. Just dressy enough to get away with wearing them to most places in the city, but casual enough that I can spend a weekend in New Hampshire picking blueberries and smoking sausage in them and not feel out of place. I'm glad this style is still available, and hope it remains so.

Mephisto Helen is the most fabulous designed sandal. I had plantar fasciitis, a major arch problem in both feet. These are the only sandals I can wear without my orthodics. I must own twenty pairs of this model sandal. I am always looking for different colors and leathers that are used for their construction. I love them. Nancy from MD in summer and Florida in Winter. I wear them year round.

This is a great shoe with a lot of arch support and is great for walking. The leather may be slightly stiff during the first few wears. After a few minutes I hardly noticed the leather between my toes. The upper strap is adjustable so the fit can be customized to how loose or tight you like. Sizing-- Mephisto recommends ordering a size up, but I did not find that these shoes run small at all. I typically wear a 7 and the 37 fits perfectly. The next size up was too big.

If you want good arch support in a sandal, I would highly recommend Mephisto Helens. I am very happy with my Mephisto Helen shoes. I bought a pair last year which I love, and I was somewhat taken aback when I received my new ones this year to find that Mephisto has changed their sizing a bit. This year's shoes were 1/4"-3/8" smaller than last year's shoes of the same numbered size. I actually tried several pairs of Helens this year, to see if the size difference was an anomaly, but the size difference was consistent. The shoes still break in very nicely and are exceptionally comfortable for me.

Love the shoe. I have 3 pairs. Most comfortable shoe I have ever worn!
