These are the shoes I live in three seasons out of the year. These are the shoes I have 5 of (no kidding). They are the most comfortable shoes I've ever put on my feet. According to the size chart, I should wear a 37, but I don't. I wear a 6 or 6.5 in most US shoes, but I wear a 36 in these. They have great arch support. I like that you can send them back to Mephisto for reconditioning and new soles, which helps them "live" longer. If I have any complaint, it's that the black ones (matte leather) are a bit stiff and rub my toe. It seems the brown ones I bought are softer. I'm on my 3rd pair. The leather makes a difference, so the colored ones might not be quite as soft. I've not bought the patent ones, and I wouldn't, fearing they would also be stiff.

I love the Helen. It is the most supportive and comfortable sandal I have ever worn. Perfect arch support and extremely comfortable. I have had 3 pairs of them and will continue to wear the Helen forever! I choose the patent leather, as it is a little dresser for summer. I wish I could wear it all year!

This is my 2nd pair of Helens I bought, but the first pair I keep. This time I bought navy color. I returned a black wax before because the leather's too stiff. I knew it'd give my toes blisters, so I returned them. Everybody said Helen is comfy, and I can't imagine the hard leather. The foot bed is really comfy and has good support, though. Later I went to the mall and I found some others, leather is soft! So I bought the navy one from Zappos (I didn't want to pay tax at the mall and Zappos' service is great so I want to give the business to Zappos). Comfy! I live close to Disney World and I can wear these walking at the park for a whole day! I am considering buying another pair of different color!

These are great shoes that are very comfortable and cute. The metallic pearl color makes them dressier and more versatile. They provide great support for your feet and are much cuter on than in the picture. I have a narrow foot so the adjustable strap was a must. Many of the reviews referred to the strap being stiff and I did not experience this problem at all. These shoes were worth every penny!

Very stable foot bed. Comfortable. Extremely well made. Attractive, classic sandal design. Need lace-ups to actually walk all day long, but want something else to wear as well? I have a pair in this blue (which look more feminine than a dark brown pair I tried on), and a pretty black patent leather pair, for dressier occasions. Quality.

This is my third pair of Mephisto Helen sandals in 15 years. I have worn them while traveling in Spain, Morocco, France, Italy and most recently on the streets of New York City. I always get compliments on how cute they are, way cuter than those sandals that begin with a "B&". My feet never hurt from all that vacation walking. I always get the medium brown leather, because they go with everything from linen pants to khaki shorts.

I was very impressed with the huge choices in colors available on Zappos. Most stores carry very few. It is a very comfortable shoe. The upper straps were a bit stiff like many of the other reviews; however, they have loosened up and become softer with wear. So far I am very pleased with this shoe. I received my order within 3 days even though I chose regular delivery. Amazing.

As a frequent traveler I am always on the lookout for stylish, comfortable footwear that can stand up to a full day of walking. Mephisto's Helen sandals were a successful choice. They offer firm support, and the buckle allows me to adjust for my high arches. While they are not "high style", they are cute. I liked them so much I ordered a second pair from Zappos.

I have these shoes in nubuck and love them so much I bought a pair for my mother in law. I ordered the red "ostrich" and was terribly disappointed how hard the leather was. She was unable to wear them, because the leather actually cut her toe. I strongly recommended she try another shoe or material. I believe in the shoe, but maybe best to stick w/ the softer nubuck.

As always Zappos' fabulous one day delivery is just the best, and especially when I received such wonderful sandals. I put them on the day I got them and haven't taken them off! Comfort is a small word for these gems.

As a frequent traveler I have found comfortable footwear to be essential. Countless hours on my feet sightseeing requires footwear that provides support as well as supreme comfort. The trick is finding these features in a stylish shoe or sandal. I was pleased to find all three in my Mephisto Helen sandals. I purchased them specifically for a trip to Hawaii. We visited several islands and spent countless hours on our feet exploring the sites. I experienced no problems with my Mephistos. I wear a size 8. I purchased the size 39 and they fit perfectly. When I got home I liked them so much I ordered a second pair in a different color.

After a year in podiatry hell, I never thought i would wear sandels again. I bought a pair of Helens and I am hooked. They are not bouncy or overlysoft but what they do provide is the high arch and anatomical foot bed, hence support. If you said I would be wearing these a year ago I would have not believed it. After a torn planter facsia I thougt I was doomed to crocs with my orthodic. These shoes are great I just bougtht another pair , different style but same footbed.Helen\'s are great, plan to buy more!!!

This is my second pair of Mephisto. This is a very comfortable shoe for walking. I wear them all day. I am diabetic and they are perfect for my foot care.

First of all, ZAPPOS is the best website ever. Their customer service is No. 1 and no they are not paying me to say these things! This is the 5th or 6th purchase I've made from them. These sandals are beautiful and comfortable. I now have 3-4 colors of Mephisto "Helen." and want more. I am more comfortable in these sandals than in any other sandal or any closed shoes including my New Balance high dollar running shoes WITH my custom orthotics inside! I have uncooperative feet and am only able to wear Mephisto sandals and a couple of other brands and even then, because my feet are slightly narrow, have to take other sandals to a shoe repair guy to cut the straps and shorten them. Because these are adjustable, they are buy and wear! Some of my "Helen" sandals are 4 or 5 years old and are going strong. These are awesome sandals. You won't be sorry.

This is my absolutely favorite sandal! I was diagnosed with plantar fasciitis a couple of years ago. My podiatrist first suggested Birkenstock, but I quickly said I do not like Birkenstocks, the footbed is not comfortable for me; I had tried a couple different styles of them. I tried the Mephisto Helen and I love them, they are SOO comfortable, great arch support (I have a very high in step and they feel GREAT!!) Thank you ZAPPOS for your great service!!

I have had my Mephisto Helen's for 5 weeks; they are my 6th pair of Mephisto Helen's, just different colors. I have bone spur's in both feet. These are the only shoes I can wear without foot pain. I wear them for all my walking needs daily.

I bought these shoes because my new job required me to be on my feet all day, and Mephisto was a highly recommended brand. At first, the shoes felt stiff, but after a couple of days, the footbed molded to my feet, and they are extremely comfortable. I've worked jobs previously that required hours of standing/walking. This is the first time I haven't had back problems associated with the job--thanks to this shoe (I don't wear anything else to work).

Love these shoes. Purchased them in two colors this summer (black and spice patent) and am living in them. I have foot problems, and these are supportive, comfy and look cute, too. Love, love, love.

I think these shoes are very comfortable! I’m impressed on their comfort, even in comparison with Birkenstocks. I have a pair of Birkenstock Arizonas that rub my instep when I wear them for a long period of time, but these shoes are much better, they don’t rub. The gold leather is very pretty - I wear them with skirts and dresses all the time. Thanks!

I LOVE the Mephisto Helen sandals! I have problem feet and have had problems with plantar fasciitis over the years and these provide the support that I need. I've worn this style for years now, and just ordered my fourth pair. Gave my sister my old pair and she loves them too. The most comfortable pair of sandals - more comfortable than Birkenstock!

This is the most comfortable sandal. I'm learning as I deal with arthritis that the more secure the shoe is on my foot the better I do. A lot less pain. This sandal is PERFECT! Comfortable and plenty of arch support. It fits my foot like it was made for me personally! Thanks Zappos for a wonderful shoe, wonderful shipping, and return policy. I don't buy my shoes anywhere else since discovering Zappos in 2007.

I have plantar fasciitis and my foot doctor recommended I use these as they have the best support for your feet. I have to say they feel much better with the help of my foot doctor and these Mephisto's. I can walk again...

I have many pairs of this sandal, I wear a 9 and I wear a 39 in this shoe-I do not recommend sizing up. My toes bump the end, but in a 40 I slide all over the shoe and the arch does not hit me right. A few wearings and the leather usually softens up quite a bit.

Very nice looking sandals. I bought the red this time and own another pair. The leather on this one is hard and hurts my toes. I'm presently wearing band aids on both toes and I'll leave them on until the leather softens since I wore them out and can’t return them and don’t really want to. The scratchy leather is the only problem. Arch support and a size larger is a perfect fit. MAKE THE LEATHER SOFTER!!!
