This sandal is absolutely fabulous!I have plantar fasciitis AND am recovering from a broken ankle that required serious reconstructive surgery and these shoes have been, quite literally, life altering for me. Before I got these sandals, I couldn't walk more than 30 minutes without horrible pain. Now I can walk for hours and hours. I think everyone should get the Mephisto Helen!!!

Heaven. I have been waiting and waiting for Birkenstock to deliver more narrow black sandals, to no avail. So I left my usual brand and am very happy I did. Shoes are great for my flat feet that need some TLC.

Mephistos are a wonderful product for anyone who needs good arch support. The style Helen does just that and also looks stylish.

I love these shoes. I find them to be high quality, comfortable, and very supportive. I am 6'1" and have wide, short feet and these fit my feet! which is not easy to do. Like a lot of tall people, I have knee and ankle issues that require me to be careful about my footwear. I feel totally comfortable walking all day in these shoes, and don't have pain or stiffness the next day. I purchased these in the gold cobra, which I think is a fun, flashy neutral. It pretty much goes with everything. One caveat, the gold is a little bit more delicate than I think the rest of the finishes probably are, and it tends to wear quickly at the edges closest to your skin.

I decided to try these based on all the positive customer reviews. Since hitting middle age and having a job requiring long hours on my feet, I've developed foot issues. I normally wear orthotic inserts, but wanted to be able to wear a sandal. The item information from Mephisto said to size up, so I did. That didn't work for me, as they were too long and the arch hit in the wrong place. So next I ordered my normal size (37 - I usually wear US 7) and that was much better. The only negative was that the toe box area was cut just a tad narrow for me and my little toes are right on the edge. I thought about trying the Plus (wider) version, but thought that would be too wide. So I wore these around the house for a couple of days, because at first they didn't feel great like everyone reported. But after a few days, they were not as stiff and very comfortable. So I wore them walking all over airports, and my feet didn't get tired or hurt! They are expensive, but happy feet are worth it!

These Mephistos are much softer compare to Birkenstocks (I've only worn the Gizeh) but the arch support is not as high (or stiff). I got them in Dark Brown Waxy Leather and after my first day the strap around my big toe is digging into my foot. Not sure if they will soften up and break in (or perhaps the nubuck and/or other versions are softer) but I hope so because overall I really like these. I wouldn't wear them to go on a date or anything but they're cute for all kinds of occasions.

This is the fourth pair of Helens that I have had in the last ten years. They are great for travel, everyday use, and for wearing around the house. The support keeps your foot comfortable all day. Love the style and color choices.

I love these shoes. They were my first pair of Mephistos and they will not be my last. They fit well and are extremely comfortable. I've hardly had them off my feet since they arrived. I must also compliment Zappos for their efficient service. Well done Zappos!

This is my second pair of Mephisto's Helen (or, maybe my third!). They are attractive, comfortable, and provide the support I need in a shoe.

I have been using Mephisto shoes for at least 9 years. They are truly life savers for my feet, back and posture. These shoes last a very long time and hold up extremely well. I wore these shoes for 9 hours straight standing on my feet all day.These shoes are much more comfortable than my Naot shoes. The Mephisto shoes mold to my feet. I look forward to some new styles. My feet do not smell from my Mephisto shoes.

These are the world's best sandals. I buy a pair each year and wear them everywhere. They are a much better fit for those who find Birkenstocks too wide and ugly. Super comfortable and they come in so many elegant colors and patterns that you can even where them to a fancy summer party. All shoes should feel so good!

I love these shoes. I bought them for a trip and they were instantly comfortable. Only complaint was that one shoe felt slightly narrower than the other. Perfect in every other way!

This is the second pair of Helen's. I love the soft nubuck leather. Got compliments from a shoe maven who ordinarily would not look twice at anything so comfortable. I wear a 8.5 or 9 and purchased the 39 size for a perfect fit. Strap is adjustable.

These shoes were a bit pricey, but they very well made and are so comfy. Fit your foot like a glove. My new favorite shoes.

I've found these sandals to be very comfortable and they look great. I purchased a neutral color and they look professional enough for me to wear to work with pants or skirts, as well as allow me to be on my feet all day.

These Mephisto Helens are the only sandals I'll buy. I've bought 4 pair over 20 years. I have a high arch and had planters fasciitis years ago and doc told me to only wear shoes with a high arch. Never had a problem again since I wear these. They're super comfortable and the longer you wear them the more comfortable they get. Only shoes I can walk all day in and my feet never hurt. I wear them every day through the summer and they last for years! I love 'em! Pricey but well worth the money!

I bought these shoes because my friend had them and loved them. After trying her's on, I knew I needed them. The patent leather makes them quite stylish, and Mephisto just makes a great shoe. I'm going to order another pair as a back-up.

I ordered several pairs of sandals to try. I decided to keep these, as they instantly felt comfortable on. They provide great arch support.

Best sandals ever. I was concerned with the toe part but they fit great and I have big feet. I think having nicely pedicured feet are helpful in making these look a bit more stylish than without, nice nail polish helps. Comfort is my biggest concern and they pass 100%. Off to San Miguel de Allende with these pups.

Maximum quality, comfort and easy wear make this shoe a wonderful purchase! I have 3 colors and would love to have more! No breaking in of this sandal...It's like it's made for my foot. I love the support and comfort, not to mention the style. It looks great with jeans, slacks or a skirt!

Very comfortable! Just devine. I tried both these and the Naot ones that look extremley similar and these ones had a comfier fit. The Naot were very narrow and looked too small. These however, are very nice from the first/second wear. A little breaking in and they are great. I hope they will hold up well in Europe.

After months of foot pain, I finally found shoes that are comfortable- even after wearing them all day long. I have plantar fasciitis as well joint pain from lupus and had just about given up on finding comfortable shoes, let alone sandals, but the support and comfort of these sandals was a dream come true for me!

This is my second pair which I bought to replace the identical style & color purchased around 10 years ago. Have to say, I still slip those on to do outside chores, and they still feel good on my feet. Like the way they mold to the contours of my feet. I also have a fairly high arch and they give me pretty adequate support. Additionally, it's difficult for me to find sandals that fit mainly due to a low instep so the fact that these are adjustable works great.

This is my second pair of Mephistos and they are great! Very comfortable, good arch support.
