I have a difficult shoe size, 9 1/2 AAAAA, and it is not available on most shoe departments. I have shopped at Zappos forever and am never disappointed. They always provide a variety of styles and I receive my order promptly. The Mephistos are the sandal I wear from April through October because they are comfortable and I can tighten them to fit my narrow (oh, boy!) foot.

I appreciate all of the previous reviewers who recommended this as a travel sandal for trips with lots of walking. I've been wearing my pairs inside, breaking them in for our trip to Europe this summer. They are amazingly comfortable and will be perfect for our long days walking around. I ordered two other pairs once I began to wear these. A classic sandal for sure.

I've never spent so much on a pair of sandals and was very hesitant to do so. But I was looking for a comfortable pair, and so I based my decision on these positive reviews. I'm so glad I did! Perfect fit and incredibly comfortable. I'll be looking at this brand again.

Mephisto Helen sandals are super comfortable, and I have a number of them. Ordering from Zappos makes my life easy, and delivery is quick, which is perfect!

I don't have foot problems and these type of shoes are not my style but...I love these! I got them because the style of the strap and the tangerine color got my attention. They are indeed comfortable and true to size. I look forward to pairing them with casual outfits.

This is not typical "thong" sandal because the strap presses against the side of the second toe rather than against the division between the two toes. As a result, it is much more comfortable than a thong sandal. The footbed is also really comfortable and supportive, and the wide strap does not cut into the foot.

This is the best sandal for my high arches and wide foot. I recently had plantar facitis and was told by two doctors that this was the best footwear to wear for it! I have been wearing I these for over 15 years and now that I live in AZ I wear them full time.

This is my favorite shoe of all time; it's my fourth pair. Mephisto Helen relieves the pain of all of my foot problems including neuroma and arch issues. I am a lover of fashion, and this shoe actually looks good as it camouflages my bunions. I travel with this shoe. When I have to wear a closed shoe to work, I put on Mephisto Helen for relief as soon as I get home.

Best sandal I ever purchased. I have been wearing them for over 12 years, in several colors. They never wear out but I wanted a new color.

Best sandal ever! Great arch support and comfort. This purchase replaced an exact pair that were purchased in 1998 and had been re-soled once (return to Mephisto for that). I have the "Helen" in several colors and love them. Zappos service and competitive pricing just add to my satisfaction!

I purchased the same sandals at least 15 years ago and finally wore them out. The new sandals are an exact duplicate and at 70, my goal is to live long enough to wear them out, too.

First of all, love ya, Zappos. Great service! Absolutely the most comfortable shoes ever, I've owned 5 pairs now. This time, however, a little tight in the thong? (no laughing) Design change or my feet changing? I don't know, but still the best shoe around. I wear them always and forever.

Love these! Wore them all summer everywhere and around the house for slippers. Great arch support for my flat arches, really helped my PF. If I was on them all day and working in the yard, my feet would still be a little achey at night, but a normal day of walking was great. they are a little wide, but the strap adjusts. Out of the box I had to tighten the left one notch, then after a summer of wear I had to tighten both a notch, then more wear, they are about ready to tighten again. Since they are leather, maybe wetting them and leaving to dry in the sun might tighten them up again.

I absolutely love these shoes. I have been buying the same sandal for over 20 years. I have multiple colors. Extremely comfortable. They last for years...just try not to get them wet, because it effects the cork in between the sole.

Surprisingly comfortable sandal that goes with a lot. Runs slightly narrow and footbed more of a grey suede than in picture. Great shoe.

I sustained a serious foot injury seven years ago, and Mephisto Helen sandals are almost the only shoes I wear; they are the most supportive, comfortable shoes ever! This is the first time I have ordered from Zappos, but I must commend this company for its prompt, efficient service. I couldn't be more pleased both with the wonderful Mephisto sandals and the extraordinary Zappos company! Kudos.

I love Mephisto's Helen sandal! I own about 12 pair in many different colors. I had a bad case of Plantar Fasciitis and these are the only sandals that help it and keep it away...very comfortable. Only problem I have is that I can't find enough colors to suit me! Wish there were more colors!

I'm trying to break these in for our trip to Rome. I'm not use to wearing sandals, but these are coming around nicely. I'll write a better review once I walk mile after mile in Italy, but so far, walking my dogs have gone very well. They seem very comfortable, and for a girly girl like me, they are actually growing on me.

These are very comfortable and pretty good looking. Not quite elegant -- there's just too much shoe there to make them seem really dressy -- but it's worth it for the comfort factor, and they're a lot more interesting and stylish than most shoes that are nice to your feet. I wore my first pair of these sandals until the footbed cracked. Actually I probably would have kept wearing them had a waitress not stood on my shoe causing the bit between the toes to tear... Just two minor negative points: 1) Blisters -- in the peak of summer heat, I seem to always get one on the top of my foot, and that doesn't go away with breaking in. Not a really bad one, though. Ok with a bandaid until the weather cools. 2) If you're ordering the dark brown scratch leather, be warned that they appear darker in person than they do online (at least on my monitor). I ended up just going with the black ones.

Super comfy sandal that has solved my painful metatarsal problem from wearing flip flops all summer. I plan to buy a black pair also. I have around twenty pairs of sandals and I only wear my Mephistos now!

Love the Miphisto Helen. They mold to the shape of your foot and give great support and cushion. I get pain in the ball of my foot, but I can walk all day in these. They aren't high fashion, but the platinum and bronze are pretty cute for a comfort sandal. They aren't as wide and clunky as a Birkenstock.

They very comfy, yes they stink, but just first two days, and they very cushy. I needed something that has thick sole because of problems with my joints, and any time I wear them-no problems found, just they became a little loose, but you can adjust a buckle.

I love these sandals! I bought a pair to replace the ones I got in the late 1990s and this pair is even better! My favorites, hands down. Next thing to being barefoot and very comfortable.

Best shoe ever - as soon as one pair wears out, I buy another. I used to suffer from plantar fasciitis but these shoes provide excellent arch support and keep my feet comfortable all day.

Too small and tight for me. Considered ordering a size larger, but these shoes are also pretty smelly. Not a fan.
