This is the most amazing sandal. I don't know what Mephisto does, but it is perfect. I've tried to wear other brands, but NOTHING comes close to the perfection of Mephisto Helen.

Super comfortable--not in a plush way, but in a "I can walk all day in these and my feet and legs feel great." Bought the pewter color--great for my summer wardrobe (blacks, whites, greys for the most part) and less Bohemian looking than the brown leather ones (which I also have but rarely wear now that I have the pewter).

First of all, I love Mephisto's as they are a perfect fit for me. I order two style of the "Helen" model - this boa design and a pretty grey/blue/green and the green sparkles - much cooler than it sounds. Anyway, really happy with both!

I had two pairs of these in nubuck years and years ago and loved them. I am looking for a pair of sandals to tour DC in. I must have shipped and returned 20 +/- pairs of Birks and other supposedly comfortable sandals but could not find one pair that fit comfortably and looked good. When I finally gave up hope on finding comfortable sandals I remembered the Mephistos that I used to have. I shipped and returned several that were a little more stylish than the Helen but did not find a pair that was really comfortable. As a last ditch effort I went back to the Helen and ordered them in the silver nairobi so that they would go with all colors. I am so glad that I did. The silver nairobi is very stylish and the sandal is very comfortable. My toe next to the pinky is a little longer then most peoples therefor I had to go one size up to keep the lip of the sole from annoying me.

I will give them a full five stars in about a month; they are a little stiff out of the box, and while I never have trouble with thong type shoes, these cut on the strap between the big and second toe. I know they will soften and conform to my feet over time, but don't buy them to wear the first day of a trip without a backup pair that are broken in.

I took the recommendation to size up when ordering (my normal shoe size is 8-1/2) so I got a 9. Wrong! The shoe bed seemed to fit okay, but the instep was so deep that the sandals would drop off my feet when I walked even at the tightest buckle hole. Exchanged for an 8 and now I'm so happy, they fit as they should, and the brown Nairobi color is so nice, kind of a purple-ish brown, and of course very comfortable. Thank you Zappos for the extraordinary service!

LOVE these sandals. They are a bit pricey, but so comfortable and look great. I am very happy (and so are my feet).

Gosh, these are great sandals! when I wear these my feet are so comfortable. The footbed is perfect for me and there is ample adjustability for my high arch and instep. I have B'stocks also but the footbed is not even close for comfort or fit. I have Helen in 2 colors and a Hortense as well.

Love the color of these sandals. They go with just about everything. Not sure why they are called brown, unless that is just referring to the footbed? I have received compliments on these sandals every time I have worn them. These will be a great, casual sandal to wear with shorts, capris, jeans and skirts.

Though I usually wear Naots, I bought a pair of these several years ago and wore them so often that I had to buy a second, identical pair to replace them.

I love these sandals. They are very comfortable and I am a person with shoe comfort issues. I get so many compliments when I wear them. They run about a half size smaller than I normally wear.

One major thing I like about Zappo's is their speed of delivery. I ordered 2 pair of these shoes (different colors). I received this shoe order in about 2-3 days - the other in 2-3 weeks. This shoe is a winner with nice arch support and they are long wearing. I started wearing the plain leather brown (still wear them), then a black pair. I wore the brown to Africa where I worked for 1 month and my feet swelled horribly. This is the only shoe I could wear because it adjusts. Thanks for always carrying it in many colors. I have red, orange, blue, pink snake, gray, a pair of hot pink ordered from England, now this camel and a brown with turquoise highlights

This sandal is very comfortable right out of the box. The Nairobi print is gorgeous! I have purchased both the dark brown and silver Nairobi prints and I love them both! Sizing seem true. I usually wear between 8 and 8.5 and the 39 fits me perfectly.

This is my second pair of this shoe. The first I've had for a few years and literally wore them to death. So glad they still make these same great shoes which are so comfortable for walking and wearing around all summer. I always get tons of compliments as well!

I usually don't feel comfortable in sandals with a thong between my toes, but these are really comfortable. I usually wear an 8, but on the advice of other reviewers, ordered a 39 in these, and am glad I did. They're perfect! Love the style and the color, and plan to take them on vacation to London and Paris. I have some 15 year old Mephisto sneakers, and aside from a few scuffs, they're still comfortable and in excellent condition. You get what you pay for!

Love this style. Walk all the time with these. I have multiple pairs. Excellent for walking long period of time.

I received a pair of Helens yesterday, and I am very sad to say that I will be returning them. The metal buckle is poorly positioned on the strap and makes contact with the top of my foot. I find it quite painful to walk with it digging into my skin. If they could move the buckle down just a little, it would not be in contact with the foot. I've tried wiggling and repositioning the strap and buckle every which way, but it always returns to this painful position.

I purchased this shoe in a 43 - I wear a women's 12. It was still too small which is unfortunate because it is a super comfortable and really cute sandal! My toes hit the ridge of the footbed and I know after long walks it would start to be uncomfortable. I purchased the Dansko Larissa instead and love it! Thanks, Zappos, for carrying lots of great styles in large sizes.

I put these on when I received them and WOW are they comfortable. They fit perfect and I am going to order another pair of Mephisto. Absolutely no break in period at all. They are worth every penny. And I cannot say enough positive words to describe Zappos. I am amazed at how fast they get to your house! They are outstanding in every way! Thank-you Zappos, you are just the best ever!

Love these shoes. This is my 3rd pair. They are comfortable right out of the box. So many colors to choose from.

With multiple foot surgeries on both feet, finding a comfortable and nice looking sandal that fits and has sufficient support has been a difficult task. This Mephisto Helen fit all of my needs perfectly! The toe separator is soft and non rubbing. The top strap is adjustable so the sandal stays on my feet effortlessly. The style is very attractive and comes in multiple colors. I plan to add more to my wardrobe.

I ordered the Helen after reading lots of great reviews regarding the arch support. I am a size 8-8½ and ordered a size 38 which turned out to be more of a 7½M fit. Luckily my mother is a size 7½ and that fit her perfectly. She loves them and said they fit great after a couple break-in wears.

My favorite thing about the shoe is the color. The bright blue adds a fashion twist to a style of shoe that often looks very functional. The shiny leather is high quality, and picture doesn't do it justice. The arch support is excellent, although it took a few days for me feet to adjust to it. The cork footbed provides cushioning without being spongy, like gel insoles. I love that I can just slip these on and go, and still look fashionable!

So comfortable. Love this sandal. I have high arches, and they are supported.

A classic Mephisto shoe! Great for summer with good looks and comfort that this brand is know for. My third pair of Mephisto's and I am sold. A great shoe for travel in summer with no worries about how they will function or the support that my feet will need.
