I'm so glad Mephisto brought this style back. My feet look too wide in most thong-style sandals and this sandal really flatters my feet.

I am a teacher and spend 75% of my day walking or standing. I live in my Mephisto Helen shoes. I am in my 30th year of teaching and I recommend Mephisto shoes to all people in my profession. If this is your chosen career these should be your chosen shoes. I also come home after my 8 to 9 hour day and run for two miles on my treadmill. I am 60 years old. I live in Florida and I can wear sandals most of the year. I have no leg or back problems. 5 stars or more

This is my sixth pair of Mephisto Helens, purchased over the past 10 years or so. Need I say more? They are my tried and true summer sandals for every day -- comfortable and good looking.

I have been wearing Mephisto Helen's for 7-8 years because of their arch support and quality. It is the only sandal I can wear comfortably because of plantar fascitis. For me they are the perfect sandal so I have them in several colors.

I am a newbie to the clunky sandal but age (mid 40s)and lower back issues forced my hand. I purchased these as well as the Gizeh Bikenstocks and, hands down, these are so much more comfortable. And, the best part- there is no break in period. You will have no regrets with these- and to boot, I get lots of compliments on them as well.

I just love this shoe. I wear it every day during the summer days. I can walk far like amusement parks and festivals feeling more comfort than any other summer sandal I own.

I have worn Fitflops for the last 3-4 years and wanted a change in style. The Mephisto Helen is a nice break yet feels about the same with regards to being a flip flop with arch support and one that actually stays put on your foot. I usually wear an 8 to 8.5, and found that in this case, the 8.5 was perfect for me (I recommend going up the half size if you are in the middle.) I love the assortment of colors/textures. I did not experience any rubbing or redness even on the first day.

Comfortable, true to size, I wear 8.5 /9 medium size and I purchase a 38, after the second wear you don't want to take it off. Worth the money. If you have wide feet, get the plus size not one size up.

Most comfortable shoe I've worn. Just came back from a trip where we walked at least 10 miles per day and wore these every day.

I bought my first pair of Helen sandals in the mid to late 1980s. Since then I have only owned 3 pairs that have been my daily foot ware for the spring, summer and fall in Texas and on numerous trips across the country and overseas (yes, well over 10 years/pair). The bottom starts out stiff but become more flexible by manually bending before wearing them. They are comfortable, have good arch support, snuggles my foot in at the sides, durable and look great! The leather on these cut into my toes at first, so I softened up the edges using a nail file making them good to go right away. Mephisto has a service where you can mail them in to be resoled and re-corked, which I have done twice since buying my first pair.

I owned these same shoes about 10 years ago and wore the heck out of them. I couldn't believe the same model was still available here at my lovely Zappos! They mold to your foot. By far the most comfortable sandal you'll ever wear. I'm a believer in you get what you pay for - spend the extra $ on these - you won't be disappointed. I'm a size 6 and they run pretty true to size - although their sizing is different than the normal scale.

Extremely comfortable and stylish. Many said to order down as they run big. I am a 10-10.5 and ordered a 41 and 40. Turns out a need a 42! I have very narrow feet and these fit well. I would say they are more narrow than average. A wide foot would spill over the edge! Going out of town tomorrow and thought I'd be safe ordering these two sizes and now I can't bring them. Bummer. Thankfully, Zappos returns are slick!

I'm a size 9 and usually order size 40 in European sizes. These fit perfect and are very comfortable. I'm wearing them today!

I've never owned before any Birkenstocky sort of sandals so I was a bit hesitant to order these, however I'm traveling to Japan for 2 weeks and I need me some comfy sandals. After reading reviews I decided to order these. Normally wear shoe size 8.5 and ordered 9 on these and they are fine. The leather does 'cut' in my big toe a little bit but I used a nail file to soften the edge and I'm hoping with some tear and wear this will help to soften the leather. I got them in black patent leather. The only thing that surprised me was that the buckle is made of plastic. I was expecting it to be made of metal. Hope it doesn't break. I hope they are as comfy as they look and as everyone says they are, can't wait to use them for my upcoming trip! :)

I have always had a challenge finding stylish shoes or sandals that were also comfortable since I have flat feet and have had multiple foot surgeries including bunions and neuroma. I have had this style sandal in black and it has been comfortable enough to wear walking all day and has lasted for years. I finally treated myself to a new pair and love the textured brown. I love these sandals!

I LOVE these shoes! They are so comfy and stylish. I always feel great wearing them. It did take a day of wearing to get used to the strap across my foot, but now they feel great. I ordered a number of Birkenstock options, and this pair, and these are the ones I kept! Love!

Very comfortable! I'm a size 9.5-10 and the 41 fits perfectly, the 40 would have been too small. They're less clunky and more feminine than the Birkenstocks I tried on, very cute in a cool casual way. Don't need a break in period, they're ready to walk in.

Best sandal ever. I have flat feet and an unstable pelvis from childbirth. These are the only sandal I can wear due to the amazing arch support. I own several pairs of this style. I bought the desert buffalo color and it's beautiful. A great warm brown with nice texture. I wear a 37 and the 37 fits true to size.

I bought these sandals just before a trip to Italy, but I ended up not taking them. After ordering, I read all the reviews and got nervous about the sizing, and was worried that they were too small. I had ordered my typical size of 37 for European sized shoes/sandals. After I got over to Italy I came across a Mephisto store in Florence and according to their sales people, who do nothing but sell Mephisto brand, found that the next size up was way too large and my 37s were perfect. I know they are supposed to cradle your feet but I was not sure what that entirely meant. Anyway, since being home I have been wearing them constantly and I love them! I have not had any issues with blistering and they have been good to go from the beginning. The next time I travel I am taking my Mephisto sandals! As a matter of fact, while over in Italy, four other people in my group purchased Mephisto brand sandals since they had heard from a Podiatrist friend, and me, that Mephisto is a great brand.

I love my Helens! My foot doctor recommended these for my problem foot that needed an unflexible bottom and support throughout. These fit the bill. I will say that each pair fit just a little bit different. Even same size of the same style fit just enough different for my foot to be picky. You won't regret this purchase. The patent holds it shape in the upper and doesn't stretch out as much as the nubuck.

This was the first time I have purchased and wore Mephisto sandals. I needed something with arch support or my back hurts after long walks in regular flip flops. These are great. I do wish they were a little more cushiony but at least I can walk for hours with no back problems. I bought the nubuck black leather sandals. I returned the regular leather to a store since it was very thick and rough between my toes. However, the nubuck leather is softer than the regular leather between my toes. Definitely recommend.

The color on these shoes, the "waxy red" is absolutely beautiful, however, more of a metallic looking almost coral color and not as bright as they looked in the picture. I needed more of a true red and will be returning these. If I could afford to buy multiple pairs of these sandals, I would keep this color. It is really pretty, just not the color I needed.

I have worn the Helen for years. This new color is AWESOME. The fit is SLIGHTLY tighter on the straps, I think they don't stretch as much. LOVE them and feel very snazzy in them.
