This is my fifth pair of Helen sandals. I bought the black patent in the late 1990s and wore them for 14 years. I finally had to replace them. I also bought them in blue nubuck, red patent, and now the sparkly metallic. Comfort, comfort, comfort! I plan outfits around these shoes because they feel so good all day long. I can run in them! These sandals are truly worth the money..they last a long, long time. I'm a 7.5, and buy these in size 38. Perfect! Also, you can adjust the strap. 5 gold stars!

Too bad you do not make the matte gold ones. The recent gold is too shiny. Please bring back the matte gold, a sandal for every occasion. I wear this sandal day in, day out here in AZ. Great travel sandal. Goes with dresses, skirts and pants. Love them. (Own 5 pair!)

Have had a pair of Helen Plus since 2010 after injuring small toes and I needed more width up front. Lasted 5 years and still great and wearable but with a few cracks in the cork sole. I took a chance on the regular-width Helen because my toes are healed and I love the Etna Grey. I am completely happy with enough width in front, but a trimmer look for my feet. Same wonderful arch support and cushy leather comfort. The straps loosened comfortably in a couple wears and I tightened the buckle one notch. I wear 8.5-9, and find the 39 roomy enough in front and back. Worth the money if you need a supportive sandal--I find relief with wearing, from a current bout of painful plantar faciitis.

I have planters fasciitis and I have a lot of heel pain and the shoes were a great choice they're comfortable have a lot of support and I can walk with them with little to no pain. I highly recommend them for anybody who is suffering from planters fasciitis. I also like ordering from Zappos delivery was on time and returns are very easy.

This is my third pair of Waxy Black Mephisto sandals over many years, this does not include all the other colors I own, but black is my go to color. I love these sandals, they are supportive, comfortable, I can walk for miles, and they are also stylish!

Wow! Excellent place to shop and even better customer service! My shoes got shipped to wrong place by mistake, a totally different state (my old address). The customer service resent (overnighted my order to me) and sent a call tag to the other people to retrieve my order that was sent to wrong address, My fault...but no questions asked! Just fixed it. So friendly! Best shipped and customer service I've ever had! Kudos to Zappos! Now for the shoes. This is my third pair. I wear them 24/7 and they last a long time. Most comfortable shoes I've ever had!

Very comfortable! typically wear size 8-8.5, size 39 seems about right. I would describe foot as average width, sandal seems right on the edge for width, but while it looks close, it feels comfortable and not like foot is on edge. Gray etna color is great. Slight pearlized sheen that feels charcoal vs silver.

Can't tell you how many Helens I've owned! They are oh so comfortable. I have even done my mile around the local college track in them. They are THE BEST! Have also worn other Mephistos. Have I said enough to convince you?

This is a very comfortable sandal. So much so that I own 5 pair, and I wear them almost daily. I have some very mild knee issues that I discovered after wearing a different shoe over the winter with less arch support. switched back to the Helens, the pain resolved. I wear size 38...my US size is 7 1/2. Absolutely love these and will continue to buy.

I am so impressed by you company! Of course, I love the free shipping/returns and next day deliveries. When I received a size 13 pair of Crocs for my husband in a size 12 box, the customer service rep was extremely helpful and courteous. I received the correct size promptly, at no extra charge and on suggestion, was able to donate the wrong size to a special young man with swollen feet (a medication issue). This man is also one a tight budget. Thank you, Zappos!

This is the sandal I wear. Period. There's great support, so I can wear them for walking. I have a narrow foot, so I put the instep strap on the tightest notch and they're perfect. They're perfect, period. The style is great for skirts or pants or shorts. Fabulous. I wear these every day from basically May through October.

A wonderful sandal. I ordered this in two colors: one pair in Dark Brown Waxy Leather and one in "Silver Venise." While they both have the same footbed, they are very different. The brown leather sandals were comfortable and the leather straps were easy to get used to. The Silver Venise pair, however, were dreadful. The treated leather straps are stiff and uncomfortable; but worse, the odor coming from the pair with silver straps was strong enough to give me a headache after five minutes of putting them on. I'm not sure what the issue is, but it was truly unbearable. So I give 5 stars to the Dark Brown Waxy Leather version of the Mephisto Helen but only 1 star to the "Silver Venise" version of the same sandal.

These are absolutely the best! They have been my favorites for at least 10 years. They are so comfortable and really make my ugly feet look good.

I've worn Mephisto Helen sandals for years. They are attractive and are available in a variety of colors. However, most importantly, they have excellent arch support.

I bought a pair of Mephisto Helen sandals probably 10-15 years ago and I absolutely love them. I loved them to a crumbling death, which is why I had to order a new pair. I could not read the size in my old pair, but I ordered the 10 - a size larger than normal (I am an 8½/9) as recommended and they fit very well. They are comfortable, provide nice support. I will certainly buy yet another pair.

I love these shoes - a great alternative to wearing my havaianas which offer zero support. Pro tip - you really need to order a size up. I am an 8.5 and found the size 40 was the best it. This shoe requires you to have @ 6-7mm of sandal in front of your toes and the same amount of footbed behind your heel.

Beautiful looking shoe & well made. Very good arch support, and the footbed feels silky soft. The strap over the bunion area was a bit stiff, and I tend toward narrow, and while the fit was okay, it was a bit loose. Tried the 41 and 42 - 42 is a true size 11. Sorry to return. For the price it had to be really perfect. Close though!

I usually wear a 37 in Euro sizing. I had to return this sandal for a 36. Great support and virtually no break in period. Can dress this shoe up or down!

I love these shoes. I bought a brown pair 2 years ago and love them, too. Zappos delivered on time and it was so easy ordering on line and tracking my shoe delivery. I will definitely order from Zappos in the future and not mess around trying to find a store close to where I live. I tried to buy these shoes at a store on Pearl St. in Boulder, Co but the man working there could have cared less about selling me ANY shoes and only had 2 styles of the Helen but neither in my size. Why bother and I would have had to pay their sales tax. So I saved $$ by ordering from Zappos not to mention the hassle of navigating in Boulder which is a nightmare with no parking and the new bicycle paths.

This is my second pair of Helen shoes. My first pair were as good as new after 4 years till my new puppy found them as irresistible is I do. My new pair will be kept behind closed closet doors. After sever wearing shorts these shoes form to your feet. Great support and comfort while walking. I'm a 7-7 1/2 but an 8/38 are the perfect fit.

OK I've only walked around the block a few times, so they're still not fully road tested. But they fit exactly like my crumbling 20 year old Mephistos -- the most comfortable shoes I've ever owned. They're true to size, at least for size 9. And the strap even adjusts to cradle my rather fat feet. I ordered Silver Venise with my heart in my mouth, fearing that the shimmery color might make me look cheap or gaudy. But the flat, practical style prevents that. Instead they make me look like Superwoman or a very athletic angel or like the yogini I truly am. I can't see myself taking these shoes off... EVER!

This is my 2nd pair of these. They are my go-to footwear for good weather. They dress up and down, and no matter how tired my feet are, they feel good! Glad they didn't change the style.

First I will say that these are not the shoes that I would take out of the box and wear for a long period of time. I originally ordered them in Grey Etna. They were stunning, but after a couple of hours wearing them around the house, my toes were blistered. I returned them. (Thank you, Zappos!) But I couldn't stop thinking about the comfort of the footbed or the elegance of the design. So I ordered them again, but this time in black nubuck, thinking that a softer leather would be good. We had a longer courtship this time. I wore them for shorter periods around the house, allowing my feet to adjust to the straps. Then I wore them to the store, etc. Now I don't want to take them off. They are outrageously comfortable. I'm so glad I gave them a second chance. They are the most comfortable sandals I own. Someone with tougher feet than mine would probably be able to wear the harder leathers. They certainly are pretty.

My Mephisto shoes were delivered exactly as I ordered them. The order was filled immediately. I can definitely recommend Zappos, and will use them again.
