MX 609 - A shoe worth the money.

Great shoe! Excellent fit with this shoe--I have narrow feet and have always had trouble finding athletic shoes that fit, especially in the heel. The MX609 is a winner!

Perfect with one complaint - The MX-609 New Balance shoes are good looking and very comfortable with the exception of sizing. The ones I ordered were 4E or XW and were still not wide enough. They don't come in a wider size so I am going to keep them and hope that they will strectch in the the width area.

I found the New Balance MX 609 to be a well-made and comfortable shoe.

Zappos Service is second to none! I have ordered dozens of pairs of shoes from Zappos over the years. Their service is second to none. I received my shoes the day after ordering. As a courtesy, they shipped them next day air without additional charges. As far as the New Balances, they are great as well.

I had a pair of New Balance 608's in a double E Width, which were the best pair of cross training shoes I had ever owned. Although I am well satisfied with my new 609's they just don't quite measure up to my previous pair (the 608). I ordered an 11 EE just as I had previously. For whatever reason, they just don't seem quite as wide or open in the toe in my old pair. I'm talking about a really miniscule difference; it's not that the new ones don't fit, there's a tiny bit of snugness that never experienced with my first pair. That being said, my feet have been fine after a workout; no pain, blisters or redness so I guess everything is ok. This is really a nice, plain, unpretentious looking shoe. I'm 6-foot, 260 lbs. I do step aerobics and cardio kickboxing and these shoes are just fine for both; light weight with ample support! Overall, I like!

Not a true 4E - I bought these for my husband and had to return them because they were too narrow. I was hoping the 4E would be wide enough, but it is no wider that a normal W width. Great looking though.

Good shoe for the money - I bought these to wear at work. I am on my feet for 8 hours a day. The only problems I have with them is that the tongue doesn't have enough padding and it rubbed the top of my foot, but that stopped after a couple days. They didn't have a lot of traction on wet surfaces, but that also went away once the soles had some wear on them. I would buy them again.

New balance shoes - I would like to say that I was impressed with the speed that I received my shoes. They literally came in one day. The shoes are also great. They are stiff for the first couple of weeks, but now they are awesome. They are also nice looking shoes as well.

I walk about 6 miles on average for a regular work day and need a shoe that is comfortable and durable. This shoe is attractive, but I found it to be a little narrower than I had anticipated. Still, the fit is pretty good and I've spent 10 hours a day for the last few weeks in them. I've had no problems so far, but will have to wait a while to determine if they will hold together.

New Balance are great for wide widths - These shoes are comfortable in the width, but the back cuts into my ankle when running. I think I needed a 2E width.

Nice shoe - I'm still in the break-in stages on this shoe so I didn't give it the highest mark for comfort - yet. That said, it looks great and I've gotten compliments from my daughter and from the kids (13-and 14-year olds) on my hockey team. Makes a 47-year old coach feel fashionable.

Fits my right foot poorly - My previous athletic shoe was a New Balance model and I love it, even if it is getting old. This new one is too high on the right outside and has rubbed the anklebone raw to the point of some minor bleeding. I have used it quite sparingly in an effort to kind of "break it in" and at the same time condition my ankle. No more that fifteen minutes at a time, once a day for about a week. I have now stopped wearing the shoe until the ankle skin repairs itself and have gone back to my old shoe. I imagine I will try it again in a week or so because it is so rare to find a really wide quality shoe.

Delivery person's perfect shoe - These shoes are comfortable and provide great support. My back pain has eased since wearing the MX609!

New Balance - Ordered this shoe for my brother who wears a size 16. He says the shoes are great, and a lot less expensive than in the store.

Pretty good sneaker - I usually get New Balance because they feel wider, lighter, and are priced decently. However, this sneaker did feel tighter than my old pair (I don't think this has anything to do with where they were made because my old pair was made in Asia as well). Anyway, I still think this is a good pair of sneakers.

NB MX 609 - Look and feel great, excellent fit.

Sturdy but too small - Looks good, feels sturdy. Downside: ordered the same size NB - 8.5EE that I'm replacing. Was too short and too narrow. Just by a smidge. But when you stand all day, a smidge can be the difference between comfort and torture. I know cuz I tested these shoes. All day. Ow! Will reorder and up the size. BTW, the NB I'm replacing were made in USA [M878WN] while the too-small replacements were China-made. Perhaps the lasts are slightly different.

Great shoe, tougher to size. I love this cross-trainer. It's easy to clean and keep from looking totally worn out. I did have trouble with sizing though. Consistently I've been able to buy a 9.5 EE for a perfect fit, but for this shoe, I had to get a EEEE! Based on the other reviews, it seems this shoe runs narrower than normal, so take that into consideration.

Good looks, but poor lateral stability. Heel and sole feel too soft with too much lateral curve, results in poor lateral stability. My feet tend to roll outwards when I walk, and these do not feel nearly as stable as either the old BB801 or the current BB601.
