Great Shoe - I have worn this same shoe since 1997. I bought an extra pair just in case they stop making them. Great for those with especially wide feet and they are very comfy.

Great Walking Shoe! I greatly enjoy wearing this New Balance MX 609! It's a very comfortable walking shoe. I will purchase another pair in the very near future!

I wanted an all white shoe. I knew New Balance made one, but I could not find it at any shoe store. I looked on-line and you were the only site that carried that style number.

This sneaker will replace an older pair of NB X trainers. The old ones are great, but sometimes the support goes with use and age. The MX 609 has a good deal of support. I need this extra support because I am quite a bit overweight (never met a Pizza I didn't like), and these shoes are excellent when I go to the gym. Strong support in the arch areas, the ball of the foot, and up toward the ankle. It seems my R foot has a much higher arch than my left foot, and when I first put on the shoes, the right one needed a much looser lace than the left. Now, however both feel just right. I would suggest trying these for working out. The extra support, however, makes them also good for walking if you carry a bit more heft than you should. The additional support helps avoid foot joint pain, and hopefully lead to a longer walk. I marked felt narrower than marked. I think that might have been due to the high arch of my foot, not the shoe

These are my 5th and 6th pair of this shoe. They are a durable and comfortable shoe and come in my unusual narrow width.

The Best Crosstrainer for the Money - I have worn this shoe repeatedly over the years for my gym workouts. I find the design conducive to both weight-training and various forms of cardiovascular activity. It is an all-around versatile shoe with a great price. AND it comes in widths; having a narrow foot, that is important to me.

This style has been out for years! This style has been out for years. I should know because I've bought these for years. If something works well, stick with it. I'm very glad that New Balance has kept this line. They are great shoes. You won't be dissapointed! I don't take the time to comment unless I feel strong about something. I'm buying two pairs today and using Zappos for the first time. They were highly recommended to me. I believe in "word of mouth"! Like I said "GREAT PAIR OF SHOES"!

They have got to be the most comfortable shoes I’ve worn for this purpose in years. They’re light, don’t make my feet sweat and the soles don’t mark the floor. I’ve worn NB shoes previously--they’ve just always seemed to fit me better than other brands, although my last two pairs are five or six years old now (and probably stretched out pretty good)! However, the ones I just purchased seem to be of much better quality in spite of their moderate price. They’re black and they look great! My grandson (16) says “Hey Gramps! I see you’re getting up to date!” They’re the same size as I’ve worn previously but are much more supportive. Maybe I’m just getting old! They seem to me to be snugger with a lot more arch support than I’m used too. I walk 2 to 2-1/2 miles on sidewalks each day and I’ve had no problems. I guess they felt narrower than I expected but I think they’re just a better fit--better support. They’re definitely not too narrow. The length is what I expected. I thought I’d need to break them in but this wasn’t necessary. I’m delighted with them and will probably get another pair. I seem to be wearing them most of the time for other than my nightly walks. If you have the same size foot as me (9-1/2 M with a flattish arch), I’d recommend them highly. I don’t jog as a rule but I’ve done some jogging in the 609’s and they really cushion the foot when the heal hits. This was my first pair of shoes bought online and I probably won’t go back to shoe stores. The service was excellent and the shoes came much quicker than I figured they would. It was a good deal all the way around.

Being a driver for U.P.S. you have to have comfort and dependability I burn through these shoes every 6 months and wouldn't change a thing.

This is the third year, 6th pair of 609's I have owned. I LOVE THESE SHOES! My Orthopedic DR told me most people wear shoes that are too narrow for them, and recommended NB due to their multiple widths. Since I have been wearing the correct width for my foot (4E), I have had no problem with pinched nerves or aching foot bones. I normally wear a ladies 8. 5/9, but, now, I wear the men's size 8, 4E. I use these shoes for going to the gym and for walking. Bottom line, if you have a foot that is hard to fit--these shoes never disappoint.

Great sneaker - I had no problem ordering New Balance sneakers over the Internet. I have owned a few pairs before, and found that the size stayed true from pair to pair. I use the Internet at my local library, so it was a little embarrassing taking off my sneaker so I could check for the correct size when ordering! But more than worth it when I received the new comfortable sneakers within just a few days. The price was very fair also.

I am ordering my second pair of 609's after 3 years of hard wear and tear. I am very picky when it comes to buying shoes. I bought them originally because of the fit and the eyelets. Most of my previous shoes would rip apart at the laces. I play basketball, volleyball, and run everyday in these shoes. The leather is finally beginning to seperate from the sole. I am very pleased with these shoes and will never buy another.

I have worn New Balance for years because they are one of only a few that are available in narrow sizes. I started with their running shoes but now walk for exercise. These shoes are perfect for walking. Durable and comfortable. I can highly recommend any New Balance shoe!

Good shoes - I love my shoes. This is the third pair I have bought.

I ordered these shoes for my husband, who is not an easy man to please. He needs a wide shoe (EEEE) and this was one of several choices Zappos offers. He has been very satisfied with them, and prefers them to the previous brand he has worn for years. He is not fussy about looks, but fit matters. These shoes did not need any breaking in either.

Fantastic shoe! I got these shoes a week ago and love to wear them! They are very comfortable. Zappos is a great company to do business with and my advice if you want a good deal on shoes gis to go try them on in a store and come home and order so you can save money!

Exactly what I anticipated, thanks - I previously purchased a NB MX 608 4E and decided to order the next model number (609) with the exact same specs. It was a perfect fit and my order arrived in under 3 shipping days.

Pillow for my feet - When I first brought these shoes I did not think they would make a big difference. I am a big guy and my current shoes at that time were leaving my feet sore at the end of a 9 hour shift. MX 609 made a difference in my feet. My feet or no longer sore and I can actually work longer without any problems with my feet. For a big guy who needs comfort at work these are the shoes to get.

The only sneakers I wear - These shoes look great, though I would have prefered the silver on white. And, since they come in widths (I buy wides) the fit better than any other shoe I have ever owned. Tried them all, Nike, Reebok, Puma, etc, but these actually last! Great shoe at a reasonable price, great fit, and basic styling; that is why I gave 5 stars across the board.

A good choice - very comfortable for walking or light workouts--your feet will feel the well made support in the arch and heel area--an enjoyable shoe!

Superb CrossTrainers! I bought these shoes as an all-around pair for recreational and leisure. The comfort is great, and the support is exceptional. I'll be looking for another pair when this pair is spent.
