I have long, narrow feet and toes. I ordered a size smaller than my usual 10 because of other reviews. I exchanged twice to find out that even the size 42 had my toes you comfortably rubbing against the molding around the sandal. I'm sad I won't be able to wear them but I'm sure my mom is happy I'm letting her exchange them for a style she wants instead. As always Zappos had AMAZING customer service tho!

I wanted to love these. They are pretty comfortable and supportive (aside from the hard toe piece everyone complains about). But the thong strap is so humongous, I just thought they were unflattering.

So comfortable! I don't even need to break them in, but they still get better with time people should know to order them 1-2 sizes smaller than normal though! (I had to make two returns because I was 2 sizes smaller.)

I want to like these - they are cute and the footbed is amazingly comfortable. But as others have commented, the toe piece is painful! I keep hoping that I can find a way to make it tolerable, but so far, no go. I may have to return theses, I am sad to say. The toe piece should be lather, not plastic!

I wear a size 5-5½ and have found in Birks that I need to order a 35 rather than the recommended 36. The 35 is a perfect fit. The only problem is that end of the thong piece is large and covers much of my big toe (which looks odd). Like other reviewers said, the plastic piece between the toes is hard and it is created an abrasion on my toe. I am hoping that this will get more comfortable over time as the shoes overall are comfortable.

These are great Birkenstocks! I especially love the leather used for the black portion on the shoe. As is typical with Birkenstocks, the arch is pretty high, a bit more than other pairs I have, but my feet got used to it after a few wears. As far as my experience with Zappos: excellent as always!

Contrary to previous reviews, I found the Zappos recommended sizing to be correct. I am a true 9 Narrow and found the size 40 Narrow gave me the recommended 1/4" spacing between my foot and the raised edges of the footbed. The thong is a little wide for my feet but hopefully I'll get used to it.

I wish that I could keep these sandals; however, I have very long toes and they rub up against the front of the shoe which is raised and it causes discomfort.

These are nice sandals that are stylish and perfect for any summer outfit (jean shorts to dresses). I usually wear a 7.5, but the 38s were too big. The 37 fit well. The hard plastic between the toe may be uncomfortable at first. I found that it didn't bother me after a few weeks. When I wear these, I do tend to have problems with little pebbles getting stuck under my feet. The tend to kick up into the shoe and then stay there due to the lip around the edge.

I'm an 8 in all shoes, unless the manufacturer has really wonky sizing. The toe box of this sandal fits perfectly, but I have a lot of extra space in the heel, so I think it runs a little big. The sandals are far more supportive than any other sandal out there, but the strap between your toes can take some wearing in. Also, coming from a flats-only perspective, not having a back heel strap can feel weird at first. The silvery blue is subtle and matches almost everything.

I have to say...I liked everything about these shoes except that I am a true size 9EE and these little guys were not wide enough for my feet. Truly wide-footed ladies, we'll have to go for one of the unisex styles, unfortunately.

I usually wear a 7.5 so I ordered the 38 and my pinky toes were hanging out of the sides. I ordered the 39 and they fit perfectly. Breaking in took a couple days, wasn't too sure about the comfort at first, but after some wear they are very comfortable. My only gripe is that for long periods of walking, the piece between my toes rubs and starts to create a blister - but just when I've been on my feet for the whole day. Normal everyday wear seems to be fine.

These took some getting used to, the plastic toe piece is pretty uncomfortable at first, but they are really cute shoes and end up being comfortable after some breaking in.

My feet can usually fit either a 7 1/2 or an 8 in sandals so I chose to purchase a 38 since I read somewhere if you are a half size go down. Wrong choice! At first it fit nicely, comfy. 4 hours later the bottom of my feet before my arch hurt so bad. Then I realized my arch and the arch of the shoe didn't align correctly. So unfortunately I am returning this shoe for a 39. I bought a 39 in a different color and they were very comfortable. Moral of the story, if you are a half size I suggest going up to the next full size.

Nice shoe, but the toe piece was too uncomfortable and I don't have time to break it in. Summer is upon us and I need it now. Love Birkenstocks and Zappos service is amazing.

I really like the versatility of this shoe. I had to return it because it was way too big. I typically wear a 6 or 6.5, so I thought the 36 would be fine, but I ended up getting a 35.

I'm nine months pregnant and needed comfortable shoes to get to work in. These fit the bill perfectly! Really cute and has great support. My only note is that the antique lace color is a bit shimmery. Not what I was expecting when I ordered them but still cute.

While I admit I purchased these shoes because of how on trend they are, I am so impressed with how comfortable they are that I see myself coming back for more even after the Birkenstock trend passes! Along with being very comfortable they are very pretty and flatter both my feels and legs. Neither the arch or the plastic toe piece bothered me a bit and I found it fit true to size (I ordered the 38 narrow and I usually buy a 7.5 in sandals). The only complaint I have is that the upper doesn't particularly give me the impression of quality, but because the style and fit are so perfect that is a very small complaint.

The photo of the "titanium" color is very true, as it appears more green than silver or grey. I think the footbed is very comfortable, but the toe piece rather uncomfortable. I kept them anyway, but I find the Mephisto "Helen" style to be much more comfortable. I will stick with Mephisto in the future.

Like other reviewers stated, it can take some time to get used to the plastic in between your toes. I wore them right out of the box and by the end of the week they had molded to my feet and now I reach for them more than any other shoe. I find them comfortable. Make sure you get your correct size. I wear a 7 and ordered the 37. The fit is perfect.

Loved but the plastic (between the toes) hurt my big toes (I have bunions though). I loved the foot bed, perfect color, and perfect style. I'm bummed out because I couldn't wear them. Had to return.

I order two pairs of sandals from Zappos. One fit, one didn't. Zappos did everything they said they would do when I returned one pair. It was fast and easy. I would order again from Zappos.

Love the look of the shoes. I got them for a backpacking trip where I knew I would be walking an abnormal amount. I did end up with a blister between my big toe with the rubbing and had very sore feet but again that could have been because I was walking like crazy. I still wear these shoes back home with boyfriend jeans and LOVE the look.

For anyone wondering about the various shades of black, I ordered three different ones so I could see them all in person. The black patent is, of course, a glossy patent leather. Very cute. The plain "black" has a soft matte appearance - more like your old-school Birks, although not suede. The "licorice" color is kind of a metallic black with a touch of platinum in it. That's the one I ended up keeping. Not too fancy, not too granola.

These are very cute and well made, however, I had to return them. The toe grip is so uncomfortable. I could feel it pushing against my toes every step I took. Birkenstocks are very popular so obviously the toe grip does not bother everybody, but they just do not work for me. It is a shame because I love them.
