The first time I put them on I found that they slipped a bit off of my heels. They also lack support. Fortunately the lacing system allows the wearer to customize fit by tightening the laces which tightens the fit in the heel. Problem solved. The insole is not well made. After just a couple of hours of wear it was flattened and worn in areas, with the lining bunching around the toes making it even more uncomfortable. Knowing that this would be unacceptable but not wanting to send them back I removed the insole and inserted a pair of Superfeet Orange insoles. They provide excellent support and I'm now very happy with the Old Friend Loafer Moccasin. I'm hoping that removing and replacing the insole with increase durability and extend the life of the shoe. Rating 5 stars overall but only 3 for comfort due to the uncomfortable insole. Replace the insole with a good supportive one and you will enjoy 5 star comfort.

I have diabetes. Between the nerves and the swelling it is hard to even wear socks. the extra width plus the comfort is perfect for me.

I am happy to review these great slippers, not because I have nothing better to do but because they have been a life saver for my husband. He started out with weird feet and then was injured in the army, 100% disabled. His size 10 5EEEEE were in constant pain. No shoes fit, let alone anything comfortable, like slippers. I took a chance buying these one Christmas as I had with similar products so many times before. I expected the same result -initial excitement and then find them kicked off somewhere before the holiday week was over. But not with these! He'd only take them off except to sleep! He told everyone how comfortable they were and what a terrific fit! Initially, I was thrilled. But then found I created a monster. He wore them everywhere...everywhere! I would try to remember to check before we went out but sometimes I forgot. And there he was, in church-in suit and tie and slippers. Grocery stores, our daughter's PTA (and he was the President!). At the same time, he'd draw more attention to himself telling everyone how wonderful these 'shoes' were. Now, these are a good looking, well made product but they weren't meant as an outdoor shoe! I now buy a pair every 6 months and have for years. I can only imagine how long they'd hold up with 'normal' wear. A couple of years ago he had successful back surgery, relieving much of his constant pain. Now he loves the slippers even more. I've lost all pride and only care that this dear, odd man is finally comfortable. So if you know a man who'd like comfortable slippers (especially if they have freakishly wide feet) these will be a wonderful surprise. I can't say enough about this product. But, need to praise Zappos too. They go to every effort to get them to me on time. I failed to update our address after a move and the slippers were sent to the wrong address. New owners denied they'd been delivered to them. Late on the 23rd of Dec. I called in a panic just hoping to get them as soon after Christmas as possible. They were on our doorstep Christmas morning! I have no idea how they managed it unless they hitched a ride on Santa's sleigh. Also, they call me when the 5Es are in stock. If you need these wide slippers, ask for the same service. There are also some great, wide top-siders, sometimes called boat shoes. I'll have to check the brand and write an equally positive review of those. Since the surgery, he can often go out wearing actual shoes and be very comfortable the entire time! After 40 years, this is life altering. I'd list the name here but he's out now, wearing them. Received by date promised. Love these loafers...the 2nd pair I've purchased for 2 different family members. They were both thrilled with the quality & comfort. I like the fact that I can purchase replacement inserts. You won't be disappointed!

These are great! My son (age 10) wears an orthotic to help with arch support; I ordered almost 10 pair to find one to accommodate. This does, the footbed is removable. But he tried just for fun to see how they felt as is and they are great! I plan to order a pair for my Daddy. Super quality and oh so comfortable!

This is probably my fifth pair of Old Friend loafers, so that is an indicator of how much I like them. I have a pair of these at almost all of my company's offices so whenever I travel, I can always walk around in total comfort. They are not good for walking outdoors much, but for indoor transit, it is good times and I am always comfortable. It took me a while to get the exact right model and size (partially due to availability), and I have had to send back at least one pair due to size mismatch, but Zappos is great about sending shoes back. I finally settled on size 13 5E/extra wide because I have huge feet (I usually get size 14 shoes), and these babies fit like gloves. I am not in the office with that particular pair and I miss them.

Because the lining underneath the foot can be lifted out, I found it very easy to use my own orthotic or the orthotic from another shoe to add the support I wanted. My pair has lasted two years, and I have worn them a lot, even outside to shovel snow! I have found them comfortable and durable. When I purchased them, they were much cheaper and felt like a bargain, but I would still recommend this slipper at the higher price.

I bought a pair in 2010 and just bought a new set. Best 6 years of my life in terms of house slippers. I wear them outside a lot also. The soles wore out. Tops are still great. I'm put the old ones at my vacation home and eventually use duct tape to keep them going. First pair were a lot less expensive. La ti da.

Slippers are fabulous. Comfy and warm, well made. Customer service was amazing as always!

Great moc! Ordered a 10 as I usually wear a 9 1/2 and they were a little large. The return was easy and got the size 9 which fits perfectly.

These Mocs are beautiful, made extremely well and best of all are very comfortable. My husband wears and 8 1/2 Wide so we ordered the 9. The fit is perfect. I definitely would recommend.

This is the 2nd pair of Old Friend Mocs that I have purchased for my husband. He says they are the most comfortable slippers he's ever worn. Even better than his Old Dutch Wooden Shoes!

I bought these slippers for my husband six years ago. After years of daily use, he finally wore them out this week. I just came back to Zappos to order him another pair.

These are the most comfortable slippers I ever had. You can also wear them outside, but since I treasure their warm, soft feel I try to keep them just as indoor wear. I like them so much I always keep an extra pair in my closet, in case my dog wants to eat them for his play. Very much recommended.

I read a review that said they ran a little small so ordered one size large. In my case that didn't work and I had to return them. I wish they had half sizes.

My husband wears a 9-EEEEE shoe and can never find a shoe that really fits. These slippers fit him well, and he likes them alot. THANK YOU, Zappos, for carrying such a wide range of sizes. Next time he needs shoes, we'll look to Zappos first.

My husband is difficult to fit and spends a lot of time in slippers. They fit and he also can wear them out to a store. He loves them.

Purchased and returned two pairs of slippers from other websites before finding these. Bingo! My husband loves them. They look to be well constructed but are still surprisingly light (some slippers with soles seem as heavy as shoes). Hoping they will wear well and that we will finally have found a company that makes quality products for a reasonable price. Added bonus: the natural color of the sole doesn't leave streaks on the floor unlike his prior brand of slippers that had black soles.

My teenage son loves these. Says they are very comfortable. Did have to order a size down. He wears a size 12 in Nike shoes but needed an 11 in these. But I think Nike generally runs small...

I have owned and been wearing these slippers for more than a month. The name "Old Friend" is spot on. They are by far the nicest, most comfortable, best made slippers I have ever owned. They look great, feel great, and are made great. I would highly recommend them to anyone. Happy feet make for happy people and I am quite happy.

My husband loves these! He has very wide feet & often has to buy shoes/slippers several times bigger to fit. He got these in the 5E in his normal size and is thrilled! He has trouble with cold feet and these keep them warm.

Got these for my husband for Christmas. He normally wears between a size 13-15 so I got him size 14 and they fit great. We have previously owned moccasin slippers that fall apart only after 1-2 years so we are hoping these will last longer than just a couple of years. The hubby says that the slippers are super warm and comfortable. He wears them everyday. He also loves the hearty feeling rubber sole.

These slippers were a gift to my husband and he just loves them. They have a nice supportive sole and are very well made. Do not hesitate to order you will be very pleased. Also they are through to size.
