You'll be addicted soon - I bought my first pair of Docs when I was a freshmen in high school in 1992 and have owned a total of 8 pairs since. I love them! I currently wear this style because if my job. I recommend you buy the leather conditioner for them because of the brown finish. They kind of heel themselves in regards to the scars, but if they get wet they'll have that lived-in look (but you'll be living in them anyway because they are so darned comfy!). I've worn them everyday since and they still feel like I'm wearing slippers! I've had low green suede, blue leather boots, low black leather, basic boot black leather, black leather with metal grasps (not the loops), and maroon leather and mid black leather boot. I love them and if you have to do a lot of walking or hanging around, these shoes are for you. I used to wear them around my horses and you can ride in them also beacuse of the heel. It's a great brand, you'll be hooked, I'm getting married in the winter time and am planning on buying a pair of white boots for the occasion!

The best shoe ever, I'm on my fourth pair! This is the best shoe that I have ever worn. Very comfortable, well built, stylish, appropriate for both formal and informal settings. Needless to say, I have a wide foot. I spent the first 28 years of my life in shoes that were either to long or to narrow. If you have had a similar problem, this is the shoe for you!

Buy these! These are the first pair of Doc's that I have ever owned (got 'em after my girlfriend told me her's had lasted for years and were still going). They have been simply outstanding! VERY durable through all sorts of weather and terrain, comfortable (although an insole would probably help the arch feel better after a long day on them), and look good for work, clubs, streetwear, etc. I have had the gaucho crazy horse brown, I am now signing off to go buy the greasy black!!! Worth every penny (have gone through two pairs of the Skechers in the time I've had the Docs). BUY THEM NOW!!

Doc Martens 8053 - I discovered these shoes during my residency. Worked 100 hours a week and wore them every day. This my second pair and I won't work in any other!

8 years and still kicking... Bought these 8 years ago in Tampa, Florida - and I'm still wearing them everyday. Finally got to management position so gotta upgrade... to some NEW docs of course.

Eighteen And Counting. Started wearing Docs in the 80's when you couldn't find them in stores, and everyone commented on my "weird" shoes. Today, I'll be ordering my 18th pair. A lot has changed since I started buying them; a ton of styles now, not as many colors, but one thing hasn't changed; once you own a pair you won't find any shoe that feels better. And they're going to last at least three times longer than other shoes, so the price isn't bad when you consider that. The 8053 series looks and feels great! Buy this shoe!

Nice Shoe, but watch the size. 'Very comfortable on the whole, but they run small. The UK12 is more like a US12.

Just bought my 3rd pair. While I am not into the "sub-culture" of DM's, I have found that these are the most comfortable and most durable shoes out there! Don't waste your money on cheap (GPX) shoes! I did, and they ripped after ONE day! My Doc's, on the otherhand, have lasted years. I wear mine to work every day, and people that have no clue about Doc Marten's are always commenting on how nice these shoes are. They're worth every penny.

4 Years. I've had mine for four years. I've worn them everyday. They're more than shoes, they're my companions. They get mud caked on them, snow, rain, whatever! -They (like the fellow from Buenos Aires said) polish up and look just like new. Buy these shoes!

Why Just Shoes? The $ kept me away for a long time. Now that I've had a pair for two years... It's an investment! These are the best made shoes in the world (any style, any atire.) Every other shoe I wore during the Y2k scare has worn out,the Docs are still going strong (and Y2k compliant!) Look cool, feel great,last forever, wish Doc Marten built an automobile like those shoes.

The BEST shoes While serving a two-year mission in Buenos Aires, Argentina, I wore these shoes almost every day, and I walked at least 10km/day. Only in the last three weeks did the sole FINALLY give-in, and a small hole finally formed on the bottom of each shoe. But, I can honestly say I got my money's worth. I wore them on mostly dirt and mud streets covered with sharp rocks and other hazards in complete comfort. These shoes got wet (submerged in flood waters), muddy, and were abused for two straight years, but always when the time came to polish them up they looked just like new. I would HIGHLY reccomend these shoes to ANYONE. I've walked (literally) hundreds (if not thousands) of kilometers in them, and I can promise you they're the best money can buy.

Boss Sexy sexy shoes, my friends. The leather ends up being much darker than it looks, and I think it looks even better. Very rugged, comfortable, can't take them off. Super fast shipping, too!

awesome i have had mine for three weeks and they are the most comfordable shoes i have ever owned. i wish doc marten's made golf shoes cuz i would buy a pair in a heart beat. for the first day or two the soles squeek on smooth surfaces but after they get broken in the best shoes in the world. they look awesome with everything. they add a classy look to jeans, they add a rugged look to kakhis and they complete almost any outfit.

OUCH!!! Sorry. No good. This is my fourth pair of Docs and I loved the other three but these do not do it for me. I was going to try to use them up but they hurt too much. Oddly enough, they *fit* too, it is just that the toe box is pinched and my toes hurt from the sides. Weird. They look good though, so maybe if you have skinny toes (or only four!) ...

Awesome shoes!!! The 8053's are very comfortable. In fact, they're the most comfortable shoes I've ever owned. They take about a week to break in (and the soles squeak a little on smooth surfaces!), but after that they are great and I just slip them on. The shoes are pricey at $125, but you can definitely tell the difference in quality. I bought Skechers before at $40, and the soles literally fell apart within 3 months, and weren't nearly as comfortable. The 8053's look awesome with anything, especially jeans. I have the gaucho crazy horse, and I highly recommend this shoe... The build quality, the comfort (the padded ankle makes a LOT of difference compared to some of doc's other shoes such as the 1561), and the fact it's the most stylish model in the doc lineup IMO all make it a must buy... I also got the doc martens comfort insole (thicker than the regular one offers more support) and the wonder balsam (keeps shoes protected and looking good.) I highly recommended!!

First Team I've had a pair for 5+ years and I hate to knock them down to 2nd in my rotation, but I just bought a new pair (different color) and need to break them in. The only serious wear I've noticed is on the inside sole wearing away (that isn't that serious since you can get a cushioned insole for a few bucks). All of the other wear just adds a little personality. But that's what a little polish is for. A++
