Love the style but the soles wear out way to fast. I remember when the soles lasted a long time. What did you do to make them wear out before the rest of the shoe? You need to fix this problem! Over the years I have bought at least 20 pairs of these but am tired of the soles wearing out to fast.

I love the design and they are great looking. Why do the souls wear out so fast? I remember when they were long lasting. What did you do to make them wear out so fast?

I like the shoe design and construction (I can't wear leather sole shoes). I ordered a size 10 5E, the shoe is long enough but still a fit across the top of my foot. Are shoes make in India sized the same as American made? Would a shoe with laces help my fit problem.

FIRST OF ALL LET ME SAY THAT THE PURCHASE AND SUBSEQUENT RETURN OF THESE SHOES WAS BOTH EFFICIENT AND EXPEDIENT KUDOS TO FLORSHEIM FOR MAKING THE PROCESS EASY. HAVING SAID THAT, LET ME SAY THAT I WAS DISAPPOINTED IN BOTH THE PRICE AND QUALITY OF THE SHOES. THE SHOES HAD A VERY SMALL DEFECT ON THE TOP PART OF THE RIGHT SHOE AND A REDDISH HUE ON THE FRONT LEFT SIDE OF THE LEFT SHOE. IN ADDITION, THE STITCHING WAS NOT THE QUALITY OF THE SAME SHOE FROM FLORSHEIM WHICH i PURCHASED WAY BACK IN THE 80's (I STILL OWN THEM) AND THE SHOE WHILE LABELED AS BEIGE WAS MUCH DARKER AND MORE LIKE A TAUPE.

The right shoe is loose on the back. Never had that problem before.

I have been buying this particular shoe for years, and I've always loved it. The last 2 times, however, I found that the right shoe was significantly more loose than the left shoe. I wore the misfitting shoes for several months the first time. The 2nd time, I had to return them. Perhaps it's my feet that are no longer symmetrical, but something about the fit just hasn't be right lately.

I really like the look and feel of them. However, the stitching always comes lose in the back and inside; I can't wear them without socks because the sole pad always comes up, and the wrinkle up and look like plastic after a while.
I have 3 pairs, but most likely won't buy another pair.

These loafers are the most comfortable that I've ever owned. However, the poor durability of the soles makes these shoes a VERY poor value. Because of the comfort and fit of the shoes I have now purchased 3 pair. But I will not buy anymore. None of these shoes have lasted more than 3 years before the soles start to disintegrate - - and the soles cannot be replaced! I only wear these shoes one day a week so they do not get a lot of wear. There is absolutely no reason for Florsheim to market such an inferior product.

I've owned at least eight pairs these shoes in different colors over the years. They fit perfectly, were light weight and were also very comfortable. When i purchased my last pair, I discovered that they've cheapened up the insole. I respect the decision to make changes to products over time. In this case, it was a step backwards as its comfort and fit is now on par with s $40 pair of shoes.

The quality of these shoes seemed to have gone down. Have purchased them for over 15 years and buy several pairs at a time. My recent pair of shoes have only been worn for 3 months and yesterday BOTH shoes cracked at the soles and the rubber sides around the soles just came apart. Was very embarassed at work when this happened as several people "noticed" my shoes. I hope this is just a fluke as I have several more pairs of the same shoe.

The sides of the leather is not glued well with the rubber/plastic sole. There is a gap between the sole and leather upper. Even after replacement, I found the same defect. I had to apply a whole lot of super-glue to make it hold. I have not worn it still [after two weeks], because I am afraid, it might come off.

Bought these shoes for my husband who has to attend numerous functions from casual to dressy. He is on his third pair! They are comfortable and transition beautifully from day to night, through many levels of formality. We once had some trouble with upper separating from sole but Florshiem addressed the issue and resolved the problem completely. Viva the Riva!

I had to return them, for sizing problem. All the Florsheim shoes in my closet are 10.5 EEE but these were too large. I hope the replacements fit.

Separation between upper and lower is a problem. Not worth the [$] price. More like a $40 shoe.

Poor construction - This is my fourth pair of Rivas. Most comfortable shoes ever. However there is no quality in the new pair. They are now made overseas. My newest pair lasted only 6 months before the heel came unglued from the leather upper on one shoe, and the sole cracked fully across the bottom of the shoe all the way to the shoes leather insole. Great shoe in the past, still comfortable as can be hoped for, but poor construction of this most recent pair makes me suspect of Florsheim's quality. No longer an American classic.

Quality issue -
This is a great shoe which is stylish and very comfortable for daily use. However the buckle on the top (with the "F" on it) popped out of the shoe one week after I got it. I currently had to reinsert it and glue it back on. Not very impressive workmanship.

Comfortech burgundy -- heels too wide -
I love the Comfortech / Florsheim brand, but the heels of this PARTICULAR pair of shoes are too wide and I intend to send them back.

Granted I have very wide feet, but this shoe is not anywhere close to 5E. I think it's really just a bigger D-width shoe marked 5E. It is too narrow and too long. Being a loafer, being too long doesn't work. They can send people to the moon, but they can't make a wide shoe that doesn't go up in length as well. Alas.

The shoe is actually flat like a tennis shoe; I need to have a heel. The picture shows a heel until you turn it over, I even took the shoes to a band saw to "make" a heel shape, but that didn’t work, into the garbage they went and I bought a another pair from you a week later.

This was supposed to be a 3EEE but looked and felt like a much narrower version of what a 3EEE should be
