Heel Problem - Very comfortable and attractive shoe, but heel broke down prematurely when the rest of the shoe still looked almost new.

Ecco's New City Plain Toe - I have had pretty disappointing experience with these shoes. Although they have a great look at the beginning, it fades away within a couple of weeks. However hard you may try to take care of your shoes, the upped leather deforms and wrinkles very quickly. I hope that Ecco will manage some day to match price and quality.

Looks Good, Feels Good, BUT . . . Bought one pair and the first time I wore them (to a job interview!), the soles no-kidding started breaking apart -- they both disintegrated! Returned the shoes for an even exchange, figuring surely it must have been a defect in the making of that particular pair of shoes. 18 months of wear later, now the soles of this pair are equally disintegrating all of a sudden. Just flaking apart. The leather uppers and the interior of the shoe are still in great shape, the soles are another story entirely!

Heels broke down and came apart - I have many pairs of quality shoes of which Ecco was thought to be one of two pair I own. THe Ecco New City Plain Toe shoes had one of the heels just start falling apart. The other shoe is fine (so far) and the rest of the shoe is in very good condition. I pride myself in the buying and taking care of my own shoes thus not abusive to my shoes. I hope that Ecco will stand behind them and will keep you posted.

Super comfort, but heels crack and fall apart. This is my second pair of Ecco's New City Plain Toe and both failed the same way. After perhaps my tenth time with these on, the heels are crumbling and falling into large chunks without signs of wear anywhere on the soles. They're unbelievably comfortable, but I cannot recommend them. I am 6-foot 2-inches and have been happy with all my other wonderful Eccos (Metropole, Alpha, other Ecco casuals).

These shoes are dreadful! After reading customer reviews of this shoe I went and bought a pair, they are the next to worst shoe I have ever worn! For the money I expected much better.
