Love 'em ... but - The soles wore through, I thought prematurely. So I went with the SeaWalker and those seem to be more durable. BUT, in both of these shoes, the laces delaminate and come apart MUCH too soon. They should be sold with at LEAST one extra set of laces.

Buy them - I have feet problems and it seems the only shoe that I can wear all day is this Ecco model. This is my third pair. They are hard to keep looking brand new. That's my only gripe.

Oh, I'm Soooo confused! I purchased a pair of these in Vancouver a few years ago in brown. I loved them so much. They're not too casual, not too dressy. They weigh nothing and are super comfy all day. I bought a black pair when I returned to the US. I've recently tried to replace them. The new ones have the "Cross" logo on them. I bought the same size as before (Euro 44), but they don't fit me like the old ones did. I got a blister on the back of my heel in about an hour. The perfect shoe has been ruined for me! How could they change the perfect shoe???

I have owned the present pair of Cross Ecco's for about 4 years and have enjoyed them until this past winter when I went to take them south and opened the box only to find the entire sole has disintegrated. I too am looking for a way to return them to Ecco. I did not wear these constantly - they were more for a dressy casual shoe on vacations.

A fix for cracked soles. My first pair of Ecco Cross shoes cracked as I hear many others have. You can have your shoes resoled at NuShoe. For $65 they totally renew your shoes. The new sole lasts forever. Well, almost, definetly worth the investment to keep a great pair of shoes on your Feet. 1-888-FIX-ECCO.

Not a duplicate to the shoe I have been wearing - Ecco Cross is the shoe I have worn for several years...when reordering through Zappos I received a different finish, the nubuck rather than the suede-like finish of my present shoe. I am not totally satisfied with this look; however the comfort seems to be good.

Surprised - After all of the other positive comments I'd read on these shoes, I couldn't wait for them to arrive. When they did, however, they were much too tight - when held side-by-side with other shoes I own, they actually appeared smaller than a shoe that is a full size down. They also do not appear as sporty in person as they do in the picture. Also, there was a slight difference in stitching from one shoe to the other. Sorry, but for the price, I want perfection, or closer to it. I will be returning these shoes. Service was excellent.

Ecco's Cross - I've worn Ecco shoes for a number of years. Quality with Ecco shoes has never been a problem. This time, however, the sole disintegrated after wearing the shoes for about 3 days, which is why I am returning them. I plan to exchange them for another pair and see if the results are any different. In the event that this happens again, I doubt if I'll be purchasing shoes online again.

Comfort, but better buy several pairs- Certainly the most comfortable shoe I have ever worn, but like other reviews, the soles fell apart, in my case only after a year. This is lot of money for a shoe that doesn't last as long as a cheap running shoe. On the other hand, it felt great while it lasted. Just don't get used to it.

In the past ten years or so I've owned nine pairs of Ecco Cross shoes. My first several pairs were made in Denmark, and all pairs (size 45) fit perfectly, right out of the box. But in later years the quality has dropped considerably. Most notably, the interior sole is no longer made of hard rubber and the arch is manufactured to be smaller and less firm. Truth is: the feel of the arch is very different and not nearly as good as it used to be. Also, the sizing is no longer consistent from pair to pair. A pair of size 45 can feel very different from a different pair of size 45! My overall conclusion: these Cross Eccos just aren’t what they used to be. Quality is inconsistent; expect disappointments.

Almost perfect. Great shoes. All my favorite shoes for the past 8 or so years have been ECCOs. Hate the shoelaces. The shoelaces are the weak link. They're hard to find replacements for.

Crumbling soles a commen occurance! Speaking as a Professional I find the ECCO Line to have a major flaw. The internal (PUR) Polyurathane Rubber is an open cell composite material and absorbes moisture internally. This causes the (PUP) to decay from the inside out resulting in customer severe disatisfaction. The reason I am familier with these issues is that my company is the reciepient of Fifteen International Shoe Recraftring Awards within the last four Years. Professionalizm at your fingertips. Not worth the money! I was really excited about ordering these shoes. I thought they would be nice for work. I was immediately disappointed the minute I took them out of the box. Flimsy thin shoes, dull and cheap looking. The sole is a real disappointment for sure. Far too narrow, I wear a D width in all my shoes but these seem to be a B or C width. There is absolutely nothing to warrant the price of 163 dollars when it comes to these shows. Nothing but hype. If you have slender narrow feet these may be your cup of tea but like I said, to me they looked and felt cheap. The sole looks like a boat shoe. What a disappointment!

UNCOMFORTABLE FIT - The ECCO Cross looked great and was a comfortable fit at first. However, after having them on for 12 hours they were cramping my feet and became very uncomfortable. Great looking shoe and good quality, but just could not continue to wear them. Thanks to Zappos return policy I was able to exchange for a different pair. Thanks Zappos!

Ecco Cross - Excellent shoe except for durability of the sole. They tend to split and disbond around the "ECCO" lettering very prematurely. Has Ecco remedied this problem?

Comfort & Looks...But Sole does Not Last - I have owned four pairs of these shoes; they are very comfortable, easy to clean and have a great look; However after about three years of use the rubber sole begins to split at the ball of the foot where it reads ECCO and at the heel Shock Point. 3 out of four shoes have done this. Ecco replaced 2 pairs, now one of the replacements is failing and ECCO is discontinuing this style.

soles on two pairs failed prematurely - I was a little put off by the price and the looks at first but quickly got over that because these are the first shoes I've worn in years that were immediately comfortable when I first put them on. Unfortunately though, of the two pairs I've owned, the soles on both pairs wore out faster than I felt they should have and on the latter pair, remarkably sooner. On the first pair the soles cracked all the way through at the ball of the foot to the point where water leaked to the inside of the shoe. Regardless, I felt at the time that I had good enough use out of the shoes and that they have to fail somewhere sooner or later, so I bought another pair. The second pair have no wear on the uppers and very little wear on the soles but the outer material of the sole, again on the ball of the foot, failed around the Ecco logo, tore through to the next layer on both soles and has continued to flake off in pieces to an area about 1 1/2" by 3/4". They are no longer useable. I've written Ecco at contact@ecco.com to complain but haven't received a response. I might try another Ecco style or sole but I won't buy this one again. Mike

Bought 2 pair in May, one for myself and one for 16 year old son. Went touring in Europe and in July they literally fell off our feet! Soles and instep disintegrated! Very comfortable shoes, but they are not durable, and impossible to repair at reasonable cost.

Cracked Soles. I've had 5 pairs of these shoes and every pair cracked across the ECCO logo -my latest pair after 3 uses! Too bad, because these shoes are the most comfortable shoes I've ever worn. These shoes cured my plantar fascia problem.

Cracked Soles I bought 2 pairs of these, a $300+ investment. They're very comfortable and look great. You can wear them daily, all day with no foot fatigue. But the sole cracked on both pairs within a year, right across the ECCO logo. This is a full thickness crack, clean through to the insole. ECCO engineers really screwed up the sole on the Cross. They should have omitted the logo so that the sole had uniform thickness. The Seawalker sole is much better. I'm surprised that the Cross has not been pulled from production. -Very common problem.

Very comfortable shoe, lightweight. The sole has been a big problem. Cracked around the Ecco logo at the bottom and at the heal. I have a slight pronation and wear my heals to the inside. The outside separated first, then shreaded. I alternate shoes, and am not hard on them. Very dissapointed with the sole, reputation appears better than the goods.

Watch out for the sole. Folks, this is God's gospel -- I bought a pair of these just a couple years ago. They ARE very comfortable. The problem is, where they printed "Ecco" on the sole... the sole has come apart. It's very thin where they burned their name in to the bottom of the shoe. The material looks like it just disentigrated. I am trying to find their web site to check on returning them as defective. If you saw the inside of the shoe, you would know that I have not worn them much. I might also add that I have had neuroma surgery on one foot and since this shoe is wide, they are extra comfy. I am disappointed though with the sole situation.
