These are great shoes. This is my second pair and I ordered them from Zappos because that is where I could quickly find them. My first pair (7 years old) is in great shape, but they get muddy in the garden.

Probably the most comfortable boot I have ever worn. The Gore-Tex lining really keeps your feet dry and warm. Hardly required any break-in.

This is my Husbands 3rd pair - My husband bought his first Track II about 7 years ago. He built a house in it, washed it with the water hose, you name it...this boot went through it. This last purchase was his 3rd pair. He loves it. We went to visit his Father and he had the same boot on. I paid a lot more for it at Zappos but I ordered it late for Christmas and they shipped it immediately and shipped it free.

i have had 7 or 8 pair of these shoes. They are the most comfortable shoe I have ever worn. The down side is the do not last very long, even with great care. The sole alway comes loose from the side. Also the stitches along the top of the foot always comes apart. But I still order another even though they have poor quality. I hope someday I will find a comfortable shoes that are made better than these.

My husband loves these boots and has been wearing them for almost 25 years! I am a bit tired of seeing them, but he finds them to be the most comfortable shoes for every day and arch support. We always have two pairs on hand with one for every day and another for dirty work. We do get very upset by manufacturers seeking cheaper and cheaper labor cost and worry about quality. We prefer to buy US products whenever possible and these boots so far have become a rare exception for our family. As I gravitate to looking into his eyes I hardly notice the boots anymore and are just part of the uniform of daily life!

I have owned several pairs of Eccos over the years. They are, or were, well constructed, and comfortable after a short break-in period and are very durable. They are great if you are on the move, not so good if you are standing still. I have oddly shaped feet so the part where the tongue and top lace meet always hurts me, I find if I keep the lower laces loosely tied and cinch the upper most one tight it works well.

What a great boot! I have worn these every day for a year and a quarter now. I am very tough on my shoes - I skate, bicycle, motorcycle, hike and occasionally run every day as I do not own a car. Although the bottom of the right shoe is splitting where it creases when I kick skating, they are still very much waterproof and in operation here in Seattle. I actually go out of my way to step in puddles, even over the laces and my foot will not wet. These boots are more comfortable than slippers, will definitely buy again when this pair finally starts leaking.

I wear Ecco dress shoes for work and love them. So I figured I'd try these boots for something to wear when it's wet or cold. They looked nice, but even ordering a full size larger than I wear in the Ecco dress shoes that fit me perfectly, these were too narrow and were tight at the top near the balls of my feet. I would have kept them if they were comfortable, but since they were not and comfort is the most important factor I could not keep them.

Third time not the charm - After wearing out two pairs of the track II high boots ( although each lasted 3 years+)I recentle bought a third pair . I have noticed a difference in the instep on both the left and right. It also appears that the sole is not glued to the vamp very well, as some minor spots where the glue is comming undone are starting to appear. The first two pair were the best, most comfortable shoes I have ever owned. The new ones are not that comfortable. Will probally be my last pair.

Ecco High track II - I have used the low version of these shoes for years but needed a high version for snow and mud. These shoes seem to be as good as the low version but ...Duh, Higher.

Great shoe while it lasted - I purchased this boot about 4 years ago, and only wear it occaisonally. The boot is very comfortable and still looks like new. The problem is the soles have disengrated and noe I have a boot with years of wear left in the upper, with no soles. Why would they do this? It's very disapointing.
I'd also recommend:
based on what has happened to this shoe, NONE!

Well i just got a pair of Black i belive GTX's. I was happy about the 190.53 out the door. well i have been wearing Ecco's since they had Track 2 in black, way back. well i found a pair of black track 2's about 5 years ago, had them shipped form marin county , wanted them fast money is never the issue with me. the boots got here and the toungue was rotten, i sent them back to Sweden and figured they would be able to dig a pair. WRONG, i get a gift card for 220.00 not even covering the price of the boot. i called , to bad for me is what it mounted to. So i have been buying other brands, there is life after Ecco, but now comes along this GTX i belive is the name? not sure, well it looks like the Track 2, until i trie it on, mind you i still have a pair of brown track 2 from 10 years ago, shoe is beat up, bottom is fine. This new shoe is a little tight, so i just cant make up my mind to keep them or return them and get something else. I will say i Love Zappos, they stand behind there customers every purchase you make. May just return them and get a new pair of Track 2 brown, oh my problem was the leather seemed a little rough on the GTX, i am TORN.

decent work boot but very short life. for the cost they should either last longer or offer factory refurbishing. soles totally wear out and stitching of leather also breaks/ wears out yet no local cobbler will attempt to resole. disappointed

I have owned 2 pairs but will not purchase again. The soles are absolutely the best in terms of comfort but they are not very durable. Once the waffled sole develops a tear, with me after about a year of moderate use, it's the beginning of the end as the sole will assuredly fall apart. This problem has been unique to this particular Ecco sole as I have other Ecco boots with more durable soles. Lastly, never get these close to a fire as the sole will melt very quickly and this starts the falling apart process sooner. I love the fit, comfort, flexibility, and appearance of these boots but they just aren't durable enough for true outdoor use. Urban dwellers will love them.

Great boot with a problem - Fantastic boot. I have gone through 4 pairs! Prospective buyers should be aware that they have an “injected” sole/tread and cannot be re-soled with the same material. The uppers will last 5 or more years...but I have worn through the outer layer of the tread as quickly as 6 months (not hiking! Once this happens, you expose the black "fill material" and the soles wear rapidly. This is a flaw that I hope Ecco addresses. Otherwise a great boot!

Nice boots, a bit too pricey - These boots aren't as tough as some of the comments say. The first pair I had to send back because the stitching came apart. Wish I just got my money back. I only wear them to the office when it's raining. I can feel every pebble and I can't imagine taking them hiking. I'll stick to my Danner's work boots. They're the best. These Boots aren't worth the money. The only trail I would take these on is the paved ones. The soles are too flexible and for those that really hike, stiff soles keep you more balanced and are key to support. Don't buy these boots for hiking or heavy duty work. But if you want people at the office to be impressed, then go for it.

I've hiked three continents with these. I agree with the positive consensus here, except I can find nobody who will resole them, except with Vibram - which I am confident, will destroy most of the comfort advantages. It's breaking my heart.

Great Boot for Comfort, Leather Great- The shoe and sole have great comfort and the leather is waterproof. However I have had 2 pairs. I have one for two months and the sole started to disintegrate. The other pair I have for two years and the sole has disintegrated on one side of the shoe and in the middle of the second shoe. Terry H. Collins

Very comfortable, great support, good design, however, BIG problem with durability! After wearing pretty much daily for about 6 months, the soles totally separated, since originally glued in construction, they could not be repaired at the Cobbler, essentially making these boots useless and unwearable...into the trash they went. Very disappointed, and very costly!

After five years of minimal use, I took boots out of closet where they had been for summer an discovered that soles had turned soft and "gummy" and treads were breaking off in chunks. Ecco store manager said this is common problem with older sole composition and problem has been corrected. Store manager was helpful and gave me packaging to send shoes back to factory. Hopefully, they will do something for me.

I bought a pair of these boots 18 years ago. I wear them for working on wooded lots. I just bought a new pair. Why? The soles wore out on the old ones. The uppers could have gone on for another 18 years. I've never had any issues with the boots. I do, though, wear an arch support insole, but I wear this with all my shoes. They are a terrific value.

Marshall, Texas - After a few minutes of wearing, the lower strings across the vamp start tightening voluntarily. I must be persistent in constantly adjusting the tension of the strings.

My last pair of Track II GTX Highs lasted an amazing seven years. All the more amazing because I wore them almost every day. THIS pair started to fall apart after three weeks. Part of the top stitching came completely undone. I'm tempted to try another pair because I love these shoes, but with shaky quality control like this, it's probably not worth the risk. Bummer!
