Length was fine. Width in the toe box was too narrow. I guess I need the extra wide in this particular shoe.

Until wearing Air Monarch IV’s, I was having daily foot pain from those “Waffle Patterned, no slip work shoes”. These shoes are poorly glued together. Shoe Goo is now kept nearby. That said, they are the most comfortable shoe I’ve EVER worn. Squeak was a factor for only A few days and left on its own. I’ve now worn them for two years and I weigh 250.

Nike Air Monarch 4 are very ugly. However, I need hybrid shoes and the market for crosstrainers, right now, is very poor, in my opinion. I'm even playing around with Adidas Strutter and that goes against my philosophy, because I always wear Adidas top and bottom, and prefer Nike shoes, so that I can have some variety of brands on me. I'm also planning to get Nike Cross Trainer 3. They will be next in line for me. $120 though. I used to like Nike footwear a lot; I think they have deteriorated. I want them to make some high top leather/synthetic crosstrainers and soccer cleats ( like they used to). Come on Nike, make some good shoes, please. Adidas shoes are weak. Most other shoe brands are garbage, as well. I want to keep my style of Adidas clothing, Nike shoes going...

I have had many pairs of these Nike shoes, the Monarch IV. At least the last 3 pairs, all had a problem with the left shoe having a squeaking noise in the sole area. Like the inside components of the sole are not properly glued together, and it gets worse with time. Also it seems to lose the support of the left foot.

Uncomfortable. Old shoes were 101/2 and these were 11. Too small

Seems like a good, comfortable shoe with strong support; however, fully a half-size too small in length, and also too narrow (despite being marked 4-E), compared to usual athletic shoes. Reminded me of why (one reason, at least) I stopped buying Nike many years ago

The thing that stands out while walking besides the width of the shoe is that it makes a squeaking noise while waking.

So I brought these sneakers about 7 months ago. I didn't wear them much over the winter. Now that I have had them on more they squeak! Yup, it seems like they squeak more and louder the more I wear them. I was aware of this from other reviews and some said powder in the sneaker stopped the problem but it seems to be coming from the soles as it is louder on hard surfaces than on carpeting. With all this said it can be a bit embarrassing. It sounds like one is passing gas with each step that is taken.

So I am hard to fit but these did fit me. The bottom is comfortable and the width was good. The only reason I could not keep them is they were just too heavy for me and I found a shoe that is lighter with the same comfort. I am a woman and probably a man would not mind the weight.

Shoe was fine the first couple of days. Then it started causing me pain on top right part of my left foot. Pain so bad I am scared to put them on again

I have had these shoes for a few month's now and they are okay. Size was good, width was good, but support could be much better. More padding is needed, especially in the heel area. I have Plantar Fasciitis and they just aren't padded enough to help with that. They would be a great shoe with more padding and arch support.

His is the tale of the tape; The whites are made in Indonesia (no problem). The blacks are made in China (they will slip off from the heel). I usually wear size 10 on tennis shoes. I ordered 9-1/2 to compare, yet too small, and the blacks still slipped off from the heel. The main thing is; Zappos takes care of buniness no matter what....that is what counts !

This is my fourth pair of red/white/black Air Monarchs-- but I won't be keeping them. I loved the fit of my previous three pair because I need a wide toe box. This pair-- made in Indonesia-- has nice soft leather but my toes are all scrunched. The length is same as my old pairs.

I got these in black for regular everyday use after breaking a toe because the wide fit accommodated me better than other shoes and I needed dark shoes for work. The price was also really good for Nike. I continued to wear them, but they developed the most annoying squeak I've ever had in a shoe. Eventually, the squeak came to both embarrass and bother the hell out of me so I stopped wearing them. Funny thing is, I also got the white version, which is more like a traditional sneaker, and I haven't noticed the squeak. Summary: great for comfort and price, horrible for noise but maybe OK if you stick with the white and not the black.

These are just ok. If you are on a tight budget they work. There are better shoes for wide feet out there if you don't mind paying more. Brooks, New balance are good choices and last way longer than any nike will. SAS is a good brand if you are looking for similar wide construction.

I've been buying these shoes for years for the comfort, but after a month they do start squeeking while you walk. It is annoying, but the price I pay until I can find a similar comfortable shoe which is quiet.

I liked the style, and the length seemed true. The width is listed here as 4E -- don't make the mistake I did and assume it will fit your wide foot. 4E is REALLY REALLY WIDE -- much too wide for my fat foot -- so I had to return the sneakers (which was simple with Zappos). I found another tennis sneaker that is 2E which was a much better fit -- but unfortunately not the Air Monarch IV.

Nike’s used to feel so comfortable. I decided to give them another shot and remembered why I upgraded to more expensive/comfortable shoes that have true arch support. These shoes are ok for the value, but I do not recommend for someone with arch support/foot pain issues. Stick to the higher quality.
