NICE shoe! Felt good underneath along the entire foot with its degree of cushioning. This new knit fabric surprisingly really hugs the foot well. But definitely not for anyone with overpronation to any degree, with or without an orthotic. Best choice is still from the Altra stability line; either the Provision or the Paradigm.

My first impression out of the box: good looking shoe. Put it on and wow, like a slipper. Maybe a little too much like a big cushy slipper. If you like the plush, soft ride for your athletic shoes, this is it. I felt I needed a little more support and stability and though I have Altra Olympia 2.0 and love them, these did not meet my needs like those do. I'll keep trying, thank you Zappos for making that possible. I know I will find an Altra or Hoka One One that fits! BTW, I usually wear 9 in athletic and these were a bit too big and a bit too wide. I put in my own arch support which helped, but if I were in love with them, I might try a half size down.

Recently purchased these runners for the zero drop specs. I always hurt my feet when I run & wanted to try something new. Heard about this brand & decided to give them a try. I am now a fan! The shoes are very well built with light (quick drying) durable materials & strong, supportive but rugged vibram soles. Love how they allow your toes to sit so natural & not get all bunched up. (which is what causes all the pain when running). You should however order these about 1/2 to 1 size bigger & your feet will be in heaven once you hit the trail. Can't forget they are also VERY STYLISH.....

I ordered these as my first pair of Altras. The Altra website recommended the maximum amount of cushioning to help transition to the zero drop. It says "Embrace the space" right on the box, But i still felt as if they were too wide because I couldn't keep my left heel in the back of the shoe without tightening the laces uncomfortably. The right shoe was fine and I didn't experience the same problem. Overall, the shoes are very light weight, well-made, and felt supportive. It was easy to feel how my foot-fall was different right away. I liked the shoes a lot, but was disappointed. So I tried a different model. I ended up ordering the intuition 4.5 and they fit perfectly! They have two extra holes for the laces that helped to secure my heel in place at the back of the shoe. I love the wide toe box and the more snug feel at my heel and arch.

I like these shoes quite a bit for my daily waking at work (I am a teacher and I’m on my feet all day long). I like how they are wide in the toe box - this has helped my big toe have enough room!

Best pair of Altra's I've owned. I have a very narrow foot but a Medium B fits perfectly. Super comfortable for running in the heat but not my outdoor running choice for winter. I bought these in March and put about 70 miles on them a week. It's July now so I just bought a new pair in pink. Support could be a little cushier but I add new insoles and it does the trick.

I have happily been running in Altra's for years now. They are my go-to brand for comfortable awesome trail footwear!! Unfortunately the Timp Trail was a super disappointing purchase. I run 8-12 miles daily, as well as a 26 mile marathon a month.. so my footwear is crucial. TOO WIDE: I decided to try the Timp Trail for ultimate support but it seemed wider than the other styles I have purchased in the past and difficult to cinch tight. FUNKY CREASE: After tightening as best as possible, the tongue creases and becomes uncomfortable because it's not flush on the top of the foot. A SIDE NOTE: The lace pattern is also angled (for style?) so if you wear shoelace flashlights, they don't slip on straight. Kind of annoying but not a deal breaker. THE DEAL BREAKER: After three weeks one of the lace loops bust. Seriously? They were $139. Manufacturer's defect? I'd just like to say ZAPPO'S customer service was AWESOME!! I called on a Sunday evening and spoke directly to a friendly customer service representative (who I could fully understand) and she said a return would be no problem at all. So I can send you a stinky pair of broken running shoes? Yep! I'm still an Altra's girl, just not this pair :)

Very comfortable walking shoes. I love the spacious toe box that allows my feet to maintain their natural positions. They may not be the most attractive shoes, but they are definitely some of the most comfortable.

I have been wearing Altra shoes for five plus years. The orthopedic foot surgeon recently suggested the Powerstep Pinnacle Plus orthotic insert (which you can also purchase here on Zappos). The first Altra shoe I ever wore was the Provision. The combo of the Provision plus the Powerstep Pinnacle Plus may just be that new awwwwwwwwwwwwwwww moment for my myself and especially my feet! Thanks Zappos!

I have been buying altras for a couple of years now and have always worn a 9. I had to go up a half size in these for some reason

I've done a few short trail runs in these but use them primarily for hiking. They are fabulous! The grip is great in mud and uneven surfaces as well as being super comfortable for longer hikes. I have a wide toe box and find that most shoes don't work but these sure do. When my current pair wears out (and they won't for a while because these are holding up well), I'll be buying another pair. I love that they have no drop which really helps with my bunions in terms of fit and being comfortable all day. I highly recommend these!

I really wanted this to work with my orthotic since I need the wide toe box and narrow heel. I ordered 1/2 size up from my normal and it was too short, I had to go up another full size since they do not make 11.5, too big.

Bought these for my husband. He normally wears size 8.5. The reviews stated the shoe ran small so I ordered 8.5 and a size 9. Going to keep the larger size. He is pleased with the look, fit and feel of the shoe.

Love the sock-like fabric and thin tongue--comfortable and breathable. The generous toe box is great. I got these for walking rather than running; they are my first zero-drop shoes, and I can certainly feel the stretch in my calves. It'll take a few weeks to get used to that. I took them on a trip right away and found them great for traversing long airport concourses--nicely cushioned for hard surfaces.

I love the comfortable fit of these shoes but they did not have adequate heel support for me so i had to returen them.

I really wanted these shoes to fit. They are light weight the toe box is roomy and comfortable. BUT from mid shoe to the heel they were very narrow and so I had to return them.

I also have the Altra Escalante in size 11.5. For my foot, the Solstice fits snugger in the MIDFOOT, but same generous room in the forefoot, toebox, and heel. I purchased the neon orange color, and they look great. My hipster wife even digs them. (The Escalante in black looks OK at the gym, but with jeans have a slightly "orthotics" look to them. The Solstice looks more modern, and I feel OK wearing them with jeans, instead of my typical Vans Era in black.)
