So I usually wear a 9 or 9.5 and my feet are on the narrow side. These were much too large in the 9, so I ordered an 8.5. They fit lengthwise but were very narrow. I couldn’t loosen them enough to get my foot in easily and then to tie them, the laces weren’t long enough to tie them without making them too tight and strangling my ankle. I didn’t even walk more than 3 ft in them. I’m sorry to send them back. They are very cute.

I have tried several different Altra styles and find every time that they are not made for a high instep. In addition I am disappointed to find that the gusset at the tongue is poorly made and caused rubbing in the few minutes I wore these around my house. I would not walk 1 mile in these let alone do any kind of hike. Returning.
