The bristle's hold water better than an boar or synthetic bristle could yet at a very resonable price. Forms a very good lather. I would rather see the handle made from something other than wood as this will probably start to break down after a year or two but quite a value at this price.

I really like this brush. Don't have much to compare it to, but this lathers up well, doesn't lose a ton of bristles, and has improved my razor burn problems as I have a very sensitive neck. Loading up this brush and liberally and repeatedly applying a moisturizing soap to my face while shaving has worked wonders.

Went looking for a shaving brush and found badger hair brushes for a lot of money. Then I found this brush which appears to be as good in quality as any of the others I've seen and works very well. One thing, I wish that it came with a drying stand.

Love it. Works great. All real badger shaving brushes smell a musky at first. Soak in super hot water with dish soap for 10 minutes. Then soak in 1:1:8 solution of vinegar, peroxide, hot water for 20 minutes You may have to do this once of twice. Here's a bit of crazy advice. Instead of buying a brush stand, I put Velcro on the brush and on the bottom of the medicine cabinet. Now it can hang-dry in the open air.
