I am depressed at the mass production move of Levi Strauss, and moving production to low quality fabrics in low cost (and quality) labor nations, away from the USA. I bought these jeans, because I have always worn Levi's, and most pairs that I bought in the 1980s and 1990s (before the cheapened their production) are still wearable and in good shape with heavy use for decades. Too bad my waist is 2 inches bigger these days. These new Levi's look and feel good. These new Levi's had 2 belt loops tear off in 3 weeks of light use (worn 4 times), and it wasn't the stitching, but the denim. My wife repaired them, but even with that, the crotch wore out and the back packets either came stitched, or the fabric degraded and made holes there in less than one year. I bought 2 pair and the second pair (worn less) lasted about 16 months before the corners of the back pockets were holes and the cuffs were shreds. The quality of the material and manufacture are extremely poor.

I have always worn Levis and when they stopped making the carpenter style jean a few years back I was very disappointed. I was so happy to see the style revived and so disappointed when I received them in the mail. I am a standard 36-32 in all pants that I purchase, the same is not true for these. As stated by others they do run big, 36-32 swam on me, 33-32 were tight in waist but a good length and the 34-32 fit in the waist, were tight in the but and short. They were also very stiff and hung funny. So I guess this is not the style jean for me.

The waist is too generous and the crotch and legs too narrow. I have a 33 waist and in most pants find a 34 fits ok. These pants in a 34 I can take on and off while still buttoned and zipped. But the crotch and legs are so narrow that a 32 puts my feet to sleep and make my baritone into a soprano. And who decided to make the back pockets half again wider than the average wallet. This makes the wallet uncomfortable to sit on. And it falls out too easily now. And the fabric while light and cool is so thin that've just had the belt loop rip out of a second pair.

This particular style is not as desirable as other Levi styles. I was very disappointed at the Quality of Material used. They were not made in the U.S.A. I did not return them because. I just returned a pair from a Zappos sister company.

Wouldn't fit a stick figure! The legs on these pants are cut so narrow I don't know who could fit in them. I have a 32" waist and thighs I'd characterize as average size (24") but the legs on these pants fit like sausage casings. Also, for some reason Levis has widened the back pockets to about half again wider than every other pants I own. The width of the pocket is enough that my wallet can fit horizontally in the pocket.
