I have “wide” feet, which makes finding a stylish shoe difficult. I was skeptical about this shoe, considering it’s VERY competitive price, but trusted in Zappos (return policy). The shoes are nothing short of AMAZING. They are a VERY high quality product, leather, made in Italy (as all worthwhile shoes should be), and incredibly stylish. I regret to see that my color and size are “out of stock” but I will see about purchasing other styles of this amazing brand.

The Massimo Matteo Double Monk Cap Toe shoe fit exactly the way previous buyers said it would. The shoe runs a half size larger and is a bit on the narrow side. It was perfect for my foot which has a narrow heel. I simply ordered a half size smaller than normal and love the fit. As always, Zappos is an excellent source to deal with. Their website is easy to maneuver in and their overnight delivery service is second to none.

I got the shoe fit perfect and loved it. The best thing was the free 1 day delivery, loved that too. Lastly the price was great too. Overall a great buy and awesome addition in my shoes collection.

Love the style and feel of these shoes. I ordered a 1/2 size smaller knowing the brand is usually comes larger. the fit is great but some breaking in is needed. As always, Zappos has great customer service and is patient with me so I could find the right shoes.

I love the look and feel of this shoe. My first impressions on looking at it in person versus online was that the brown seemed a little lighter (as if you slid the scale a little more to tan/khaki brown from the current picture). Not drastically so, but just a little. The leather has that nice matte-luster shine to it, which I love. As for the feel, I selected a width of M for my usual, and I felt that it was a hairs-breadth slimmer than that. Still comfortable and fits me well, but slightly narrower than the other Ms to which I'm accustomed. The toe otherwise is great - cap toes generally leave a bit of empty room beyond where my big toe hits, in a feels-like-it-fits-well way. Overall, I do recommend this for a light brown shoe!

Sized quite poorly. My size "10" feels more like a 12.

Excellent shoe, feels very well made. The leather sole wore in nicely in one day walking on the sidewalk. The buckles had a little shoe polish on them out of the box, but this was easily removed. Otherwise it's a bit snug on the top, but I have a high arch.

Love the shoes. Very unique. Two problems one minor - color appears faded. Major - these shoes look a year old after one week due to the scuffing. I will not purchase again.

I ordered this shoe taking a risk not knowing what I am getting myself into as I have never tried monk strap shoes or Massimo Matteo before. Overall I am extremely pleased with the shoes, the fit is true to size and extremely comfortable without a need to break in. The quality of the show is more than you expect for the price point and the style is simply amazing. A very versatile shoe that pairs well with a suit or jeans and a blazer. While it doesn't rival higher end more expensive shoes, It's a great shoe for the price.

Incredible quality. I usually need to wear leather shoes for several weeks to break them in. I was surprised that these double monk shoes were extremely comfortable right out of the box. They look great and feel great. You won't be disappointed with this purchase. These are the second Massimo Matteo shoes I have ordered on Zappos - awesome brand!

I'll start with saying that I spent a long time picking out a pair of double monk straps, more shopping and comparing than with any other shoe purchase I've ever made. I was initially looking at a pair of Magnanni Miros price at about $325, but they were a little too long and pointy for my taste and the price wasn't fitting me. These Massimos came up and I knew they were it. As soon as I got my hands on them, I knew I made the right choice. I got the rich smell of the Italian leather before I even got both of them completely out of the box. They fit me perfectly at the size I wear all my other loafers and dress shoes at. They felt great, albeit a little stiff around the ankles, but that'll break in I'm sure. The buckles took a second to get on and I'm sure I'll have to get used to that considering I've been sporting the slip-on bit loafers for quite a while. But once they were on, I that was it. They look great, shiny, but not flashy. They feel great, sturdy but comfortable. Yes, like everyone else says, they're a bit slippery out of the gate, but that'll go away I'm sure. Bottom line: I'm more than happy with my purchase and I might get another pair in brown.

Very comfortable and fits well. Style looks great. The color is slightly lighter than the picture, but I'm ok with that. As others have noticed, it can be a bit slippery, but it's not unbearable. I'm really happy with this shoe.

I ordered this pair after returning another model from this same company. This model fits exactly true to size. These shoes look really expensive, easily comparable to high end designer shoes. The leather is soft and so far (First day wearing them) feels comfortable. The sole seems to be wood or at least faux wood grain, and it is very slippery at first, especially if you are trying them on while standing on carpet, but once they get a little bit of wear on them, they get much more traction. I am really happy with these shoes and am looking forward to ordering more from this same designer. Seems like i have found a relatively low cost option for high end shoes! I hope they wear well and last a while. I guess time will tell.

This is a piece of art! It looks so good and makes me you feel great. But first time you try it on you will have no traction but hoping to break it in!

I wasn't that thrilled with these when I first got them, but I have grown to really like them. They fit me very well (compare to Allen Edmonds wide, Cole Haan wide, some Johnston & Murphy regular, etc), and they look good with a lot of the trousers I wear to work. When I first got them the straps were hard to buckle, but they've "broken in" somewhat and it's not as difficult anymore. The leather was quite dry, but I've been feeding it with mink oil fairly frequently and the leather is getting more supple and richer in color without darkening too much. My only quibbles are I wish shoe makers would quit with the really long toe boxes already, and the heels are hard as rocks so the make a lot of noise when I walk. That will change when I get them resoled. Can't beat the price for these, either.

These fit me quite well, and are comfortable all day (albeit for my desk job). I generally have good luck with Johnston & Murphy, Allen Edmonds (E width) and To Boot New York. I picked wide for these. I think I will not like the Monk strap; however, since it's hard to buckle and unbuckle. Thankfully I only have to buckle one on each shoe, and I am hopeful it will get easier as the shoes break in. I'll need to be a bit careful as the leather shows scratches easily.

I find that this brand runs long and a bit narrow. I ordered a half size smaller and could have gone down a full size. I ordered a wide size and that fit just fine. The brandy color is lighter than the photo shown online and it seems to lighten after only a few wearings. I wish the color was a bit darker. I have always found this brand extraordinarily comfortable from the first wearing because of a kind of light padding in the inner sole which i have found in no other shoe. The shoe has a thin but pure leather sole which breaks in easily and contributes to the overall comfort of the shoe, although I think it will not be as durable as a good year welted shoe, but at this price point and comfort level I can afford to buy two or three of these for the price of an upscale shoe with almost no break-in, great comfort and trendy looks.

Still breaking them in, but even if they don't loosen at all, they are good.

Overall it is a very stylish shoe. The width of the show was little narrow for my comfort. I would have probably kept them. However, I had an experience with a Massimo Matteo boot recently in rainy London. The boot, as well as this shoe have a glued sole, which makes for a very low profile between the sole and the upper. Stylish, but as I found out a little impractical. When walking in an unexpected rain storm, the shoe began to wick water which caused discoloration in the upper. For that reason I decided against keeping this shoe and decided to keep another shoe I ordered at the same time that has Blake sole construction. Hoping the additional expense for a better constructed shoe will result in longer wear life.

This is my first pair of Massimo Mateo shoes and I love them. I usually go for Johnston and Murphy but it is so hard to find leather soles. I think in have found a new favorite brand. They fit tight, but not uncomfortably tight. They are more narrow than I am used to but they broke in easily. I was unsure at first of the color, being that it was so light. However after putting some kiwi shoe polish (Tan) they darkened right up and have turned out beautiful.
