The pink Helen Perf is perfect for spring and summer - but I need the next size up and it is not available! Even that would be a risk - my medium width foot hangs off the side slightly and I am worried that it will break down the foot bed and rub the sole of my foot. Oh well - since Zappos does not have the size I need - it won't matter. These go back for someone to enjoy this summer.

I have two other pair of Mephisto sandals in different styles, and I bought these because they're more casual than the others. As for looks, they're pretty cute for what they are. Compared with Birkenstocks, I think they're more attractive. However, they did feel very stiff on my feet when I first bought them. The other Mephistos I have were much softer and more flexible right out of the box. But I decided to give them some time and I'm glad I did, because after having worn them for a couple of weeks they are now super comfortable and the leather has softened. I live in Europe and travel a lot, so I need shoes that can be comfortably worn all day on a variety of surfaces - cobblestone, pavement, grass, dirt pathways. These do well on everything except for the dirt pathways (like in the parks in Paris). Little tiny rocks can get under the foot but that's to be expected with any sandal. With that being said, if you're in Paris, buy these there. I paid $70USD less than the asking price online. If you must buy them in the U.S., I still think it's worth it because you won't find a more comfortable sandal.
