These shoes are very durable and comfortable. But because my son wears them without socks, they get smelly. I've been putting powder in them every night and the smell is gone.

I bought these shoes specifically for my 9 year old for hiking with lots of river walking, wading and rafting. They were perfect. Protected his feet better than just water socks. He has a narrow foot, so with the elastic laces I was able to make them snug. There was a spot in the inside, right above his arch, where the seams can together and it rubbed his foot. We were able to remedy it with a band-aid. Also, as a few other people have mentioned, the elastic lace broke during our last hike. My husband was able to rig up a fix, but it was pretty disappointing to have them break on the fourth wearing!

Great sturdy slip-on shoe. My five year old lives in these shoes camping, park, wherever. Style is great. Only issue it really poor support for a child. You really want your kids in a supportive shoe as they are growing and this shoe is just flat and unsupportive. Still a fun great play shoe for the summer. Just no support.

Love the look and ease of this shoe - My 4 year old can take them off and on very easily. The laces snapped and broke when they got caught on something, and was impossible to fix. Zappos was very nice to replace them with a brand new pair the next day. Other than that issue they are great!

This shoe is like a very sturdy water shoe. At first my son liked it but found they slipped off his heel easily and felt "kind of weird." Looked good though.

The shoes are very nice looking. I ordered a pair for my active 5-year-old son who still likes to have us help him put his shoes on in an effort to save time in the mornings! I ordered his size and had to send them back and get a full size larger. We couldn't get them on at all. The larger size fit him well but are still a struggle to get on (we still have to help). He wears them every day - every where. There is one issue with the shoes, though. The smell. My God, the smell. Prepare yourself for it when your child removes them at the end of the day. Buy plenty of Lysol and spray after each use. I have the same issue with my Tevas and they are open-toed. It's times 10 with the closed-toe. But they're great shoes to wear all over - in the water, to the grocery store, to the beach, to the library, etc.

It's a nice shoe but my son finds it hard to get on. It is difficult for him to squeeze his foot in.

Great overall shoe for summer...water play as well as park! Problem we have is that my almost 4 year old cannot get them on without assistance. One of the reasons that we purchased these is to facilitate him getting his shoes on his own...and it definitely cannot happen with these shoes. And even with help, it is not easy and I feel like it strains his ankles trying to get his feet in.

When I bought these for my 8 year old son, I was looking for a tennis shoe that didn't require him to tie laces. By the looks of these I thought that they would have more of a tennis shoe feel than they do. They are heavier than I expected due to the "water sole" material the bottoms are constructed with. While there is some cushioning give to the sole, these are not as cushioned as regular tennis shoes. These would be awesome for vacationing in a river bottom, but for running around the blacktop at school every day they might not be your top choice. That being said, my son thinks they are great looking, and wears them daily despite having some foot pain on days that he's on his feet more than normal.

I bought these for my 5 year old. He doesn't wear them every day and so they have had very very little wear & tear. Thus, I was surprised when the bungee cord used as the shoelace broke yesterday while we were sitting in a restaurant. Unfortunately, since the cord is sewn into the shoe, we can't replace it or fix it. I'm disappointed that I will now need to buy another pair of expensive shoes when these are still in excellent shape other than the cord.

So my son is 6 and I saw these shoes and had to get them for him. Within 2 weeks the shoe lace broke on one of the shoes! These are very stylish and cute, but a child is going to love tightening the laces up himself. If you pull too hard, the elastic stretches out and breaks. And you can't replace the shoe lace, it's actually stitched into the shoe! How stupid is that!? I love the look of the shoe, but don't waste your money, find something else. You'll end up frustrated like I am.

We loved these -- until my kid snapped a lace after 3.5 weeks of wear. When I went to replace the laces, I discovered they are actually sewn in/attached at the base of the tongue (in the photos you see that little grey patch where the laces originate) and so aren't replaceable. It is a major bummer that these pricey shoes for a 4 year old only lasted as long as their laces.

I bought these for my 5 year old son for camp. Two weeks into camp I kept noticing that every time he took his shoes off the most disgusting smell would permeate the air. These are the only shoes he owns that do this. I have tried washing them on the sanitize setting and yet they still STINK! I think there is something wrong with the inserts. It is really disgusting. One day he took his shoes off on the highway and dropped them out of reach. we had to roll down the windows for the remainder of the ride. He even said his shoes smelled like moldy poop a direct quote! :)

These shoes were awful! It took 3 days for them to dry and I can not get the sand out them! I would not recommend them to anyone. I highly suggest looking into Columbia's water shoes.
