Very comfortable, no break-in needed. Would buy again; however, Keen should redesign the tongue, to make it wider by the ankle, and reposition the leather patches as not to interfere with lacing!

Sort of a heavy shoe, feels good to take them off at the end of the day. But that's not a bad thing, because I have noticed they feel pretty good going on in the morning. Haven't tested the steel toes yet, but it's good to know they are there . When (if) these wear out, I will these again.

I was initially excited with this low boot. I farm in East Hawai'i where it rains frequently, so I need a waterproof boot for walking wet pastured areas. I have Braddock mids for heavy work and those boots are awesome. I wanted a similar boot but in a low cut. The Detriot looked like a good deal, good looking, and WATERPROOF. NOT! I had damp feet after just walking through wet grass. Very disappointed! I'll be returning this pair. Quite surprised as I have always found Keen Utility to be better than this, but waterproof these shoes are not.

I do HVAC installation. These shoes were very comfortable, but in under a month of wearing them on the job site every day, I was disappointed in the quality of the shoes which surprised me with Keen as I like their hiking shoes. This work shoe though, started peeling on me on both shoes where the leather upper meets the foam/sole. Right at the point your toes bend, basically right behind where the steel toe ended. Maybe I'll give them a shot again down the road, but not going to work for me now.

Review for Zappos VIP Points(What's this?)

I'll start by saying Zappos is the best, my poor review is for the shoe itself. I tried on a 13. It felt very obviously too small. I ordered a 14. Seemed logical. I got the shoe and when I put them on they felt extra roomy. I read that his is typical of Keen footwear. The fact is there is too much room. It's not that they are too long. I guess I would say they are too wide? The problem with that is that I sometimes need to get a wide size from other manufacturers. That means these are huge. It's impossible to get them tied tight enough where they feel like they are supporting my foot. So so so clunky. These shoes are also obnoxiously noisy. I work on concrete floors all day and it sounds like I am wearing baseball cleats on top of the material of the upper squeaking like crazy. I gave them two straight weeks of work and I'm sorry I did. Now I'm stuck with $100 + dust collectors for the floor of my closet. On to the next.
