Bought these to replace a pair of Teva's I'd had for over 10 years. These are even better than those. They are so comfortable and have great arch support and they're cute!

I like this sandal a lot, but I really need more of an arch support, so I'm not keeping it.

Love these sandals. They are so comfortable, great arch support. I'm taking them on a trip to the Galapagos Islands this weekend. Should be wonderful for wet and dry landings.

Pros: Very adjustable strapping; toe strap crosses behind little toe instead of squashing it; footbed is super soft and cushiony. Cons: No arch support at all; ugly colors. I would never have selected battleship gray for a sandal, nor do I care for the cutesy peeks of Easter-egg colors along the sides. Nevertheless, I am living in these sandals because they are so comfortable. Only problem is the lack of arch support. I usually take a 7 1/2 or 8 in sandals, but the 7 fit just fine.

I have two pairs of the old Toachis and love them! Unfortunately the footbed on the newer version is not as comfortable, I am sad since these have been my go to sandals for several years.

The footbed is very comfy for me. I love the quick connect buckle, so I don't have to use the ripstick straps once they've been adjusted. I am not sure about the heel strap...it feels like it is a bit low for me and may rub. I'm going to wear them around the house for awhile to decide whether I'm keeping them or not. Maybe try a size smaller. (I really want them to work because of that awesome buckle.) Size Note: I went to Teva's site which has very detailed sizing info...unfortunately their chart doesn't match their shoes! I got 8.5 which should be eu40 per their chart but the box/shoe is labeled eu39.5, yet they seem slightly big. The footbed and adjustable straps seem like they'd accommodate a wide foot just fine.

This sandal is great but size 7 is too large for me. The longer side on the front strap on the left foot rubbed my foot. The sandal was supportive and comfortable. If it fit I would have kept it. I wish it came in 1/2 sizes.

Comfort, amazing. Bought two pairs of these, 1st, terra cotta color, within a year, bottom front started to separate. High price sandals, not usual for Teva. Bought sand green pair next year strictly because of comfort. 2nd season, so far so good. Maybe my first pair were a lemon. Have had them re-glued, to last about a week. Overall, super comfortable, can walk forever.

I was hoping this shoe would have the overall softness in the footbed that the original Open Toachi has, but it doesn't. The "shock pad" in the heel of this shoe is very irritating to my heel and is the main reason I'm returning this shoe, although the lack of sufficient arch support is a close second. I don't recommend this for pronators.

I really wanted to like this sandal. I needed a sandal with STRONG arch support to deal with my plantar fasciitis and a sandal that would stabilize my foot to deal with the weak ankles I've been confronted with in my mid-sixties. The arch support was not nearly strong enough for my needs, and the shape of the front of the sandal was a serious mismatch with the shape of my foot: just right next to my small toe and wide yawning gaps above my toes and next to my big toe. Color was more charcoal than black. Too bad!

Trying to find that perfect walking sandal & these did not fit the bill for my feet. The strap close to the toe area was not wide enough and caused that area of my foot to lack stability....too much movement under the piggies. They appear to be very durable.

Like another reviewer, this is my second pair of this style. The fabric across the toe is now two pieces, which puts a seam at a very uncomfortable spot. I love how versatile the sizing is and how well constructed the foot bed is, but this new pair is not nearly as perfectly comfortable as the older style.

Bring back the Toachi, please! This bears no resemblance to that great sandal, other than the clip. Gone: the strong hiking front toe protection, gone: the double stitching, gone: the soft strap lining throughout but especially at the toes, gone: the great arch support. This is now just another comfortable every day sandal, but nothing like the original. Don't think this would last on high mountain or forest hikes like the original, not by a long shot, and is not nearly as comfortable. Feels to me like Teva "cheaped out" on this one, taking advantage of the name and popularity of the original and loosing almost all of the quality. Very disappointed.

I'd been referred to the Toachi as a hiking/trekking sandal, but learned it had been discontinued, so decided to try this model. Turned out I'd forgotten that the earlier design had toe protection. This style doesn't, and although it is comfortable enough, the toe portion tends to flap while walking and hit discontinuities in the pavement or trail. Also, the arch support isn't as pronounced as the Toachi. Because I've worn them outside, I've kept the sandals, and will continue to try it on both surfaces - not sure if it will be stable enough for steeps.

I would NOT recommend this water shoe! The first time I wore it in the pool I slipped and fell on the tile. I ordered the shoe for an agressive aquatics class, but it failed on the way into the pool. During the class, it also slid around. I was so surprised and had not prepared myself for slipping. My last cheap water shoe (a slip-on) was flimsy but never allowed me to slip and slide. This shoe might be appropriate for washing a car on a concrete surface!
