I love this sandal. I actually ordered both this one and the Keen Newport because I couldn't decide. Once I tried them on, this one is lighter, less clunky, and more comfortable. Sent the Newport back (thanks to Zappos fantastic return policy).

Took a few days of walking around to break-in and be comfortable, then a little while longer to get used to the elastic pull-thingie that keeps the shoe snug. After that, these are my favorite shoes in a long while. They've won me over from my previously favorite Tevas. (By the way -- very flat feet here. They don't cause arch blisters.)

Great hiking shoe. All members of my family enjoy them. These great sandals have enjoyed every national park. We like the covered toes aspect.

I got them in grey, and so far, they've been pretty good. I did order a size larger than what I'd likely wear in a regular shoe, and that worked out about right. This shoe is not very wide, and I have a pretty wide foot, so I have to leave it kind of loose. If I cinch them up too much, it is uncomfortable. I also have a fairly flat foot, and at first, the sole of this shoe felt like it had more dips and divots than I was going to like, but as I've worn them, it has sort of started to conform to my foot (or my foot to it?). Either way, they feel better now than they did when I first bought them. It is a nice looking shoe, but I'm sort of wishing now that I had just gone with a leather Keen of some variety...I don't much like the gray on my feet, but they do look nice. It is just a personal preference, I suppose. They are comfortable, but after a long day of shopping/following the wife around, my feet and legs do start to feel tired in these...but for a normal day, they seem just fine.

If anyone else is trying to figure out which kind of Keens to get (like I was!) These Kanyons are indeed well suited for activities in and around water. They are more lightweight and seem slightly less substantial than the Newport H2. The fit is a little longer (I'm guessing the H2s run about a half size shorter), yet the Kanyons seem slightly narrower than the H2s at the mid-foot and forefoot area. (Maybe this is to keep them snug on your feet if your walking in water?) The Kanyons also are a little easier to get on and off than the H2s. Personally, I didn't think the Kanyon footbed was as comfortable as the H2, but I think Kanyons were not built for the wider spectrum of wear/use that the H2s are built for. Hope this helps!

Unfortunately I have to return it. Entering the shoe is difficult since there is no elastic in the back. Not easy to slip on. Shoe is well made though and a good design.

These are great shoe for times when you need grip, yet will be both wet and dry. They are good for casual wear also; but I used for beach jogging and also for canyon exploring out west. With these on, you can get wet and keep moving. They are fast drying, too.

I bought these for my husband as one of his birthday gifts. He blew out a beautiful pair of leather flip flops last summer, getting stuck in a muddy part of the lake. I thought these would be better suited for that kind of wear! AND HE LOVES THEM! He put them right on and has been wearing them ever since :)

Bought these for a backpacking trip that involved multiple stream crossings in the mountains of New Mexico. I wear a 14 or 15 and am hard to fit. I was leery of wearing sandals backpacking, so I got them a few days early and tried them on a local mountain hike. They did great (except when I bumped the back of my foot on a big rock as I came down the mountain). They worked much better for the backpack than I expected. I did get gravel and small rocks in them, but I could also wash it out pretty well as I moved through the stream. They are quite comfortable, although the sole is not as supportive as one of the Tevas I tried. I went with the Keens because they fit better and were reportedly more waterproof. We walked many miles on the trip with a relatively heavy pack (35 pounds) so I thought they performed well. They are truly waterproof as well. I wear them more than my surfer sandals around town because they protect my feet better, although they do get hot and sweaty in the desert climate where I live.

Zappos shipped them for free and very quickly. I ordered this shoe for a lightweight sandal for summer walking and also for wearing on boats or at the beach so I can get them wet and not worry about ruining them. I got what I wanted. They are lightweight. There is very little arch support, so I would not wear these if I was going to be walking long distances. I really like the styling and they are very airy. I am a woman and usually wear a men's 8 1/2, so that's what I ordered (I have a wide foot for a woman, so I usually buy men's shoes). The strap at the little toe is a tad tight on both shoes, so I am wearing them with very thin socks to break them in. I can already tell the toe strap has stretched a tiny but...just enough for them not to bind at the little toe. So, this is why I indicated that they run a little narrow. But they will be fine after a few days of breaking them in. The color I ordered (slate black/harvest gold) is not nearly as reddish brown as in the pictures, but only brown. I like the color though. Overall, I'm happy with my purchase. I think if I want a pair of sandals for long walks or hiking, then I'll buy the Keen Newports. But, for casual walks on warm summer days, these are great.

These are great but if Keen is listening, what I really want is another pair with the open heel. I have a 6+ year old pair that are wearing out and they don't seem to make them anymore.

Best fitting sandals I have every purchased. No hot spots, perfect fit, very comfortable. They are worth the expense. I'll go with Keen again.

I love Keen shoes but I had to return these because they are too narrow. The straps are not at edge of the sole but about 1/8 inch inside the edge and make them uncomfortable on my foot. Too bad, I like the look and the color.

Excellent shoe. Handled water quite well. Only problem with hiking in sandles is that in places with many small pebbles, the rocks get under your foot. But if you are going in and out of water, or you like the freedom of the sandle, the airiness and strong support of this sandle is excellent.

First strap on inside side of sandal cuts into the arch of my foot uncomfortably. I must add I have 'flat feet' so this may be only for me. Otherwise I love the look and feel of this sandal. Sadly I had to return it. I will try the Venice which is said to be wider and has a slightly different strap configuration.

Excellent shoe. Lighter & more versatile than leather versions. Nice walking sandal for clean, dirty, dry or wet. Very good sole foot contact surface. I use 1/2 size smaller than normal for a perfect, slightly more snug fit.

Sandals felt comfortable right out of the box. I wear a Brooks Glycerin 8, size 10 medium. The same size and width Keen Kanyon sandals were comfortable. Wore sandals several days on board cruise ship and for various island stops. No problems.

This is the most comfortable sandals I've worn. In fact, I've gone water rafting with it and I've swum with my Keens on - they're still amazingly in great condition. I would highly recommend getting one -you can't go wrong.

No happy with shoe. I wanted to order an all around shoe I could wear in or out of water, it had poor support not comfortable to wear. This shoe I really wanted was out of stock and this was a second choice. I wore them once and threw them in the garbage can, save your money on this shoe!

Bought these for my husband. He was truly shoe deprived, felt he only needed a shoe for work and a shoe for play. My new year's resolution is to change that...one more pair at a time throughout the year! He loves these...says they are extremely light weight and that they are nice and squishy with great arch support. Also loves the fact they have protected toes.

I have used this sandal for around the campsite as well as around the house and for general outdoor walking. I have not used it for hiking or rough terrain. It is very comfortable; much better than I expected. I can wear them all day without getting tired feet.

This sandal fits great (I can even run short distances in it) but as an enclosed sandal with some fabric, it will smell if it gets wet! You can throw it in the washing machine easily, but I was hoping for something low maintenance.

Minor flaw - overall very happy. Near the heel strike area, the Keen logo is imprinted via molding. There were small tabs (?) on both shoes in this area that were uncomfortable on my feet. I shaved them off with a sharp blade - then the shoes were great. Spent a few days in Cabo, wore them walking to downtown, at the beach, on jet skis, at the pool, etc. No signs of wear yet. Good toe protection, arch support, and anti-skid.
