I have a pair of these shoes I purchased a year or so ago in gray, and I'm very fond of them. However, when I purchased a brown pair recently, I kept getting shoes with minor quality issues. I had to return two pairs to Amazon and one pair to Zappos before my fourth pair came with no issues. In the first three cases there was one bad stitch on (in every case) the left shoe. I'm highlighting this as an issue with Naot quality as opposed to a Zappos issue -- Zappos was very helpful.

I ordered these expecting great things, and was happy for the first few months, then dissapointed. They didnt even last ME one year. I work as a cocktail server in Vegas, and walk on average 5-6 miles a day. That being said I need a shoe that will last. This was the most expensive pair of shoes I have ever bought for work, so I expected more. They were comfortable and perfect for the first 6 months, then started to become hard and cracked and shrank, on the inside. Not sure if that is because of sweat or not but it is very uncomfortable. The outside held up well, but the inside seams to be made of cardboard or something, not leather. I know I demand a lot out of shoes, so if you dont walk that much they would probably hold up well.

I purchased these in June and was sadly disappointed. I tried the 11M and was a little too low on my instep so I returned them for 11W and honestly there wasn’t any difference on the fit. I’m a 10.5 and like room around my toes and comfort. These shoes didn’t weren’t comfortable they were snug, I felt they run small. And for the cost you would assume they would be everything but they weren’t and back they went.

I was looking for a comfortable flat shoe, and tried this one despite the price given the great reviews. Unfortunately I am disappointed with this shoe. I have issues with my feet and need a higher arch. Compared to the other shoes I bought with this order at a lower cost, this shoe had much less arch support. Most troublesome is the tab at the heel, which is very uncomfortable for me. I appreciate Zappos very much for their great return policy! Thank you Zappos!

I really wanted to like these Mary Janes. The color (sort of steampunk-metallic) is really nice, and they look pretty coming out of the box. They didn't look great on my feet, though - they sort of squished around the top of my foot and gaped a little when I walked. For someone with a slim, narrow foot, I think this style would be gorgeous, but I have flat, bunion-y, Hobbity tootsies and these didn't improve things :). I was looking for a replacement for my Keen Presidio mj's, which are wearing out because they are so comfy I wear them every day. Onward!

This was a cute shoe and might have been really great but it ran narrow. Since I ordered a wide I did not have an option to get a wider size so I had to send them back.

At first these shoes were comfortable (as I wore them around the house) but as I wore them outside and walked in them, I started to feel a bit of uncertainty. First, there really isn't any proper ventilation in the shoe so my feet inside without socks ended up sweating a bit. The sweat then caused me to form a few soft spots on the bottom of my feet and the sides of my pinky toes. With socks they are alright but I still experienced a bit of rubbing on my pinky toe. The footbed was comfortable, however as well as arch support. As for the styling well...I think this can be left up to the individual. For me, they were ok style wise. I'm not too fond of the Mary Jane style as it looks a bit juvenile (especially with socks) but that's me.

I'm not sure why so many people are raving about this shoe? It's comfortable enough, once you exchange for a full size larger than you wear. I am normally an 11, so I'm just grateful they carry a 12. The problem I have is that these shoes cut in terribly to the tops of my feet, just behind my toes. I never have this problem! I tried wearing them around for a few hours, but they need to go back.

These shoes look cute, and seem like they have some cushioning, but they definitely run small. I'd order at least a size up if I were you.

I think they run short. I wear a 40 or a size 9 and have had thee for over a year. I thought they would conform to my very badly shaped foot and then feel better; sadly that did not happen. They certainly run true to width. I suggest buying up one size. I may buy they again because they are rather dressy and are pretty comfortable.

I was really hopeful for these shoes after reading all the positive reviews. To me they were disappointing. I ordered the black / black suede option in wide. They were not very cute in person and still felt narrow.

I wanted to like this shoe but the size 10 (40) was just too short. The foot bed also felt a bit strange to me, almost too much padding right where I didn't want it. Sadly, I had to send it back.

Really disappointed in this very expensive shoe. The strap was too short to go across the instep without leaving most of the Velcro exposed. The material seemed flimsy. The WIDE was a bit snug in the toe box. Returning these.

Wanted to love these but they were just too wide, even with the Velcro closing at the max. So am returning to the hunt for the perfect walking shoe!

The shoe was great in comfort, size and style. My problem is that twice I was sent the suede when I ordered the black leather. When I called I was talking to someone in Asia who assured me I would be sent a leather pair. Returning again and hoping someone will get this right as the shoe was great and what I would really like to have.

When I got this it felt perfect, but after walking a day in it I was in pain. I have arthritic feet so that might be the issue, but I was sad because I loved the look and because they were so comfy when I first got into them, which was at night, so I thought I was safe in my assessment that they were good.

I bought three of these because I usually love Naots, but I did not even try these on, hence the average score for overall and comfort, since I cannot judge anything but appearance. The leather upper is finished with uneven coloration, making them look old and scuffed. The first one I pulled out made me think I had been sent a defective pair. I was horrified (and disappointed) when the next two looked just as bad! Maybe Naot thought that since people buy jeans with holes in them, they will buy pre-scuffed shoes. Not me. They looked to me like they were overdue to be replaced. Back they go. Thank you, Zappos, for having such a generous return policy.

I wanted to love these shoes, but they just didn't work for me. Although it's advised they run large, I had to size up to get something close to fitting. The wide wasn't quite wide enough, although my foot isn't exceptionally so. The extra width was mainly in the fore foot, making it easier for my narrow heel to stay in place. Ultimately, my outer toes still touched the shoe edge uncomfortably. I've been a fan of Naot since I lived overseas, and I recommend you give these a try if you have foot issues, or just want a comfortable, stylish shoe. On a side note, while I received exceptional CS at my initial purchase, my need to exchange led to the first poor, rude service ever from Zappos CS personnel.

I am really sad to only give these shoes three stars overall, because they are among the most comfortable that I have ever owned. I first bought the sterling grey in size 8, went on a trip to Israel and did lots of walking, and the shoes were basically falling apart by the time I got back from my trip. Not even three months and the straps were totally ragged and falling apart. I contacted Zappos customer support and, to their credit, they replaced the shoes - wonderful, because these are not cheap! I had assumed my first pair was defective, because I have never even had a pair of cheap sneakers wear out in three months flat. Now about four months since receiving my replacement pair, and the stitching on the right shoe is coming undone and the outside of the shoe and inner lining are coming apart. For shoes that are so expensive I definitely expect more in terms of durability. I consider shoes like this to be an investment, as many people on here stated. I purchased a second pair recently, but now I am semi-regretting that choice. I reached out to customer support thinking that this pair was defective as well, and they told me it is expected that these shoes wear out within 3-6 months due to moisture, and that they recommend having a backup pair for this reason! I do have a backup pair now, but even if I can afford to buy such an expensive pair of shoes every 3-6 months, that does not mean that I necessarily want to. I thought (like many people in the reviews for the Naot Kirei) that by buying these I was making a longer-term investment, like you do when you buy Fryes or other higher-end shoes. At the very least, I would expect these shoes to hold up for longer than 6 months. So, I am delighted with the comfort, but super disappointed with the durability and Zappos' response to the situation. Very expensive shoes that wear out every 3-6 months? I am going to have to think really long and hard about whether I buy another pair of these in the future.

I thought these may run narrow, so I ordered the wide. Good thing - the wide was perfect. However, the strap across the top seemed like it was made for a narrow shoe. It didn't even go over half my foot, leaving the Velcro exposed. For the price of this shoe, they could have given a longer strap. I thought about taking it to my local shoe repair placed to see if they could add a piece, but opening on the plastic part holding the strap was so tight that I thought a seam in the strap would break it. Also, the way the front part of the shoe slopes, my middle toes were touching the end of the shoe. Might have been okay, but I don't think this was a true size 11. I will say the softness of the upper materials, the rubber sole, and the squishy inner-sole would make these fabulous to walk in if you can get the rest of the shoe to fit.

Just a word of warning on this shoe in Polar Sea Leather/Blue Velvet Suede/Navy Patent Leather: It is much darker than it appears in the photo. I was hoping for more blue but it's almost black. Nice shoe, just not the color I expected.

I'm returning these because I can't seem to get the upper strap to fit my foot comfortably. Although the footbed is very comfortable, the upper feels cheap and poorly made.

Underwhelmed. They are cute, but the patent leather looks like plastic and I'm not sure what it would do with age. They seem like they don't breathe, so I'm pretty sure they'd be sweaty, and they'd look silly with socks.

So sad these didn't work! The shoe itself fits like a glove but they put a lip above the back of the heel and it cuts right into the Achilles tendon! Wish I could have taken it out and then it would have been a perfect shoe. Good arch support, supple and comfortable.

The size seems correct but the cut is strange. There is plenty of room for my big toes but the cut across the others is so severe that the shoe presses on them. A larger size would be too wide. I love the style and have had Naots in the past that were extremely comfortable, but these are not.
