These are comfortable, but do need some breaking in. My only complaint about them is that there are no half sizes available. I usually wear either an 8 or an 8 1/2. The UK 6 was so small I couldn't get my foot in without pain, even with very thin socks. The UK 7 is too big, but with my orthotics and heavier socks they are very comfortable. I wouldn't wear them for a day long walk though. Dr. Martens, how about some half sizes?

I received the shoes one day ahead of time which was great. The shoes were a bit uncomfortable the first week or so on my heels but soon after I broke them in. I love the white Doc Martens. They go with everything, especially my jeans!

An absolutely wonderful shoe. I recently purchased the 8053 in Brown/Grizzly. I love it and decided that I 'needed' new Docs in black as well. But, for a little less funky look, I decided to get the smooth leather, 3 whole 'Gibson' style oxford in a 'w'. This means it's a womens rather then a unisex; slightly narrower toe box and arch/vamp area. No padded collar which is so comfy and I did feel the slight heel rub which other reviewers have mentioned, but forewarned is forearmed and I immediately put on a bandaid over each rub area, pulled on a pair of 'wigwam' style crew socks, put on my new shoes and totally forgot they were on and wore them all day. The fit is true, great arch support and the shoe feels so light. A very happy camper here.

These shoes are awesome. If you are a person that likes to be noticed, these are the shoes for you. I bought a pair directly from Dr. Martens and it took 2 weeks to arrive. Bought this pair from Zappos and came the next day. You can't beat that! Just a little note: If you are not familiar with Doc Martens, they are a little heavier then most shoes. And they don't have 1/2 sizes. I love Zappos. Their service is amazing. I will be a customer for life.

This was my first purchase at Zappos. This was one of the best transactions I've had. The shipment was very fast and the product is as described. Bought these shoes before; they are one of the sturdiest pairs. They needed to be replaced not because of the wear and tear, but because my daughter outgrew her other pair. I have purchased again from Zappos and would highly recommend them.

These shoes are a little masculine; however, I kind of like it. I love the style; however, I went through hell to try to break them in. I've had them for a couple weeks and they still aren't completely broken in. It probably takes a good month and a half or even two to break them in. Like other Docs, once you break them in, they are so comfortable.I bought this shoe in cherry and it looks great. I secretly want to buy the Pewter Koram Flash ones.

Dr. Marten's oxfords - I'm so pleased Doc Marten's came out with an oxford without the yellow stitching. I can wear my comfy, sturdy Docs to the office. Hurray for removable insoles - my orthotics fit. My 1461s are a year old, I wear them daily and there's still little visible wear on the shoes. These, like my other Docs, should last for decades. Detracted one star on Look because although they are "unisex" and sold in the women's department, they do look rather masculine.

Great all-around work/play shoes - I've got arthritis in my knees and have a hard time finding stylish funky shoes that also have enough support to get me through the day AND are nice enough to wear to the office. Hooray, these work. Give yourself a good two weeks to break in, though - they're not "out of the box" comfortable.

In this trend of minimal, barely covering your foot shoes, my Dr Marten's provide sturdiness and support with comfort and indestructibility. If it is your favorite shoe, you will have it until you become tired of wearing it. This white oxford will be my summer shoe for years to come.

Doc Marten Oxford - Everything about this show and the order was excellent. The shoe is excellent for everyday and for dress.
I'd also recommend:
Doc Marten Oxford style 8309. If you carried it I'd purchase it immediately.

Awesome!! I've been waiting for Dr. Martens to make a dressier oxford shoe without the yellow stitching. Finally here it is! This shoe is very comfortable and well worth the money. I'm considering buying two pairs as I wear them for both work and play.
