I got these for my son who has walked to work in this horrid winter in New England. He's fussy about what he wears on his feet but these were, although pricey, perfect, kept his feet warm and toasty

My feet are always cold, especially here where the moisture is high and it is always wet, damp, & cold. I googled what keeps your feet warm. I found Smartwool.I hate wool because it itches. This said it was a wool from sheep in Europe and the wool would not itch. I ordered them in the Trekking 3 pack. They do not itch at all, they are very soft and comfortable and if you put a little baby powder in them your feet will feel dry, warm, and great. It was worth the money. You should try them.

It was cold at night so loved these socks as our "everyday" socks - dinner, etc. Used thin smartwool for skiing and cross country and the really heavy ones for play days in the snow.

These socks are fabulous...got for cold weather...30degrees or lower. They are so warm and also have a cushion feel. Well worth the cost. And so much better than other socks of this type. Order Smartwool!

I love these socks - they are great inside my Uggs and Sorels and also make great slippers as I wear them around the house. My husband has the thinner version of these socks and he loves them as much as I do. Those are perfect for him to wear inside of his shoes. These heavy socks would not work inside of tennis shoes or similar (unless they were rather big) but as a Florida girl whose feet are happiest in flip-flops or loose flats I buy my boots a size up so they do not feel too tight. This makes these socks just right inside of them. Keep my feet warm, but do not make my feet feel hot - wool is great for temperature regulating. (My husband wears the lighter version with his shoes even in the warmer months.) They are expensive, but worth it for great socks that will last you a long time.

These socks are excellent even in hot environments where you needs to be on your feet. I am a chef and these socks are my favorite even in the summer in the hot kitchen. Because they breathe so well, your feet stay body temperature no matter what the environmental temperature is. I love these socks.

These sock are great. I wear them when hiking (with hiking boots and with short muck boots) and around the house. They keep my feet dry and warm. I just purchased Smartwool dress socks because I like the crew socks so much.

Yup, these are legit. Thank you Zappos! I found these through reviews when we were experiencing the "polar vortex" in Chicago with temps of 40 below. I first ordered than for my husband who walks to the train, and he raved so much I ordered some for myself. Super warm but your feet don't sweat like with wool socks. Plus they are not the least bit scratchy. I never thought I'd pay this much for a pair of socks but I have now recommended them to many people and will continue to purchase. One of my best Zappos purchases thus far.

These socks are the same as you get at REI. They are very warm and comfy. I'm glad I didn't have to go to REI to get them for my husband and children. Too bad, Zappo was out of my size. I love Zappo. The socks, as well as the Uggs boots, came very quickly. Thanks Zappo for making my shopping experience the best.

These socks are warm, comfortable, and durable. I initially bought some years ago to wear when backpacking, but they are now just my go-to winter socks. They are very much worth the price!

Well worth the price. Wear them in my winter boots and my feet stay warm and dry. Wear them around the house for slipper socks and my feet are warm and cushioned. My husband has been after me to try Smartwool socks and I was too cheap, but glad I finally went for it!

Excellent product. Only winter sock to have when you live in Minnesota! Other brands are good but don't have the fit and long trm wear that Smartwool has. Live in rural MN and buying from Zappos was the quickest and easiest way to get a quality product.

Incredible socks. It feels like you are putting your foot into a cloud when you first put them on, then throughout the day the functionality kicks in. The wool wicks up moisture and is naturally odor resistant. The extra cushioning is very comfortable. Wool works as well in summer as it does in winter. My feet sweat in shoes in summer even more than winter, and so I wear these socks even in summer. These socks are a little pricey, but they are absolutely worth it because I get extra life out of my shoes and boots. Normally I replace boots because they smell. If I only wear these socks with my boots, they last much longer. I replaced all of my cotton socks with medium and heavy cushion smartwool trekking socks. Not just for hiking, these socks are great for every day wear. This is all I wear for more comfort and longer lasting shoes.

These are, hands down, the best socks that I have ever owned and worth every penny of the purchase price. They are very warm without making my feet sweat. They are deeply cushiony, to the point where they have made shoes that are already comfortable into shoes that are amazingly comfortable. Wool usually makes me itch so badly that I do not buy wool socks, but something about these is different enough so that I do not itch a bit. I will be buying more of these. I want to wear them every day this winter.

My husband likes these plush Smartwool socks and has been wearing them with North Face snow boots in -20 degree weather. Feedback...his feet are kept nice and toasty not sweaty. They are holding up well through regular wash and wear. By the way, I tried them on and decided to wear a pair for the day...so comfy! I will be ordering a few pair of Smartwool socks for my Winter boot collection as well. This purchase was an awesome choice!

I do love the cushioned feel of these socks. However, the wool condenses while you wear them making them not as dense until you wash them. They only fit in my big winter boots due to bulk but a plus is that they are warm! Wish I could have bought one pair to try out. I would not buy again despite the good quality.

Nice and warm, but way too thick. I have to wear shoes a size bigger to accommodate the thickness of these socks. I really wish I had bought Smartwool socks that were thinner because I can't justify buying bigger shoes just for these socks. I was planning on exchanging them but unfortunately, I threw away one of the packages for one of the pairs of socks. This is the most money I've ever spent on socks before, and it's a huge disappointment that I'm stuck with them. I can't believe I threw out the package before trying the socks on with shoes!
