My feet kept rubbing when I was barefoot. These sites should be made to be written barefoot and it was very uncomfortable and left blisters. The quality is very good and if you wear these with socks, they are an excellent pair of shoes. But they didn't fit the need I intended for them.

These are well-made shoes. I find they have a little less support and a less sturdy sole than a pair of Cole Haan topsiders I loved. No problem at all breaking them in. Be sure to get the right size and bend/break down the back of the shoe before wearing it.

I have a pair that are over twenty years old and still love them. I did not wear them for several years after college left at parents house when I got married. Now they are my go to gardening shoes and even have used them to clean the horse stalls. Just hose them clean. I never had a problem breaking them in because I use lexol on them and saddle soap. Same products I use on horse gear.

The best casual shoes available w/o question. My ONLY reason for a return is receiving another identical pair as a gift, just after ordering. Prior to ordering, I was (and still wear a pair from 1990) replacing a treasured pair that got paint on then. STILL, THESE ARE THE BEST SHOES, PERIOD.

The only complaint I have is that naturally they take a while to break in and as with any boat shoe, the only real way to wear them without looking stupid is without socks. So they're uncomfortable for a while and they can hurt your pinky toes and cause blisters at first.

Only shoes I've purchase for the last 20years or more, I wear them everyday and buy a new pair every 5 years. They are always a perfect fit. The tops waer out and the soles still look bearly warn.

I bought these when my pair of Sperry Billfish fell apart after 3 years. The Docksides seem much better constructed. They took about 2 weeks to break in. Wetting them thoroughly and wearing until dry a couple of times really helped to soften the leather. A couple of coats of saddle soap ($5 in any shoe polish aisle) also helped, and stopped the squeaking noise. There is no arch support in these shoes - not a deal breaker for me, but be forewarned if it is for you. I picked this color because I like the brass eyelets over the black eyelets of the elk brown color. I wear a size 9.5 athletic shoe, but chose a 9 wide for the Docksides, which is a perfect fit without socks.

A great shoe and I'm very happy with it right out the box. The quality of the leather is superb and has a great feel. Though the leather is a bit stiff I have not had the break-in issues that most have commented on. I wore these for days right out of the box with no chaffing issues -- perhaps this is a matter of biomechanics? The only downside for me is in the cushion of the insole. There's moderate heel to mid arch cushion but nothing in the front of the foot bed. As I walk I tend to push very much off of the balls of my feet and this shoe had my toes and the balls of my feet aching after walking only a couple of miles. Overall this is an awesome shoe for the style and the quality of materials and build. However, it is not as good for walking as some other makers of boat shoes I have tried.

The look is good but as everyone else states these things are tough. I bought a wide width and they were very tight. I tried them on with socks and then without. They are still kind of tight I could not wear these for more than two hours.

These are great. Took a bit of time breaking in at first (would wear socks) but after a few years, they've gotten more comfortable. These take a long time to look scuffed up though (probably due to the higher quality leather used) so if you're looking for that look on boat shoes though, then this wouldn't be the best option. Goes well with khakis, shorts, and jeans.

I've had the dark blue docksides back in the 80's and i love it more than my Sperrys. I fell in love with saddle tan color so i ordered one; I was so disappointed when I got it. What is shown on screen is not color correct. It is a bland tan!

These are nice topsiders. I have been wanting a good pair for the last two years and I am glad I made this choice. The seams are of good quality, no fraying threads. Totally satisfied. Also I have a flat foot and sometimes that is a problem, but these work.

I have worn boat shoes for about 50 years. I have tried them all: Sperry, Dockers, Sebagos, and several other lesser known brands. In spite of the slightly higher cost, Sebago Docksides have outperformed and out lasted them all...You get what you pay for! And Zappos has the lowest cost!

These are the most annoying pair of shoes I've ever bought. First of all, they feel larger than the marked size, so be prepared to gamble on that. However, my main problem with them is that they squeak loudly on every step. I don't know how anyone has not mentioned this. I wore them around for a whole day and the squeaking did not become any more subdued. Instead of finding my own fix for this, I'm just going to try to return them. At least they look good.

For me the Sebago's fit better than the Sperry's. Initially, the shoe was stiff. However after a week or two of breaking in. These boat shoes became very comfortable even without soxes.

I blew it and ordered a medium shoe when I should have ordered a wide. What was I thinking? Your wonderful return policy allows me to exchange for the right size when the wider shoes come in in February. I do wonder if a 12 1/2 might be better, as this is a pretty stiff shoe, but that is a size you don't carry at present. Surely I can't have wildly BIG feet!

For a while I thought I would never be able to wear Sebago Docksides boat shoes again. And then I came across Zappos online, placed an order. I was amazed at how quickly my order arrived, true to Zappos' commitment, so I placed another order for two pairs of Sebagos and again within a week, that order arrived. I am very happy. Thank you Zappos family!

Arrived on time and nicely packaged. Product fulfilled exceptions from ad. As with other comparable, the weight of these shoes is more than expected. Needs a little "breaking in". Good product.

These shoes are really great. They are noticeably sturdier (and I think better-made) than Top Siders, with more arch support as well. I would recommend trying half a size down if you plan on wearing them without socks. They are great shoes!

This shoe is a replacement for my very favorite eight year Old Timberland blue moccasins that I have walked off the soles. My feet are very wide and this shoe should probably have been a EE width rather than an e, the latter being the widest that Sebago makes in this style/color. I like the look enough to have bought it but I am stretching out the width myself. So, if your foot is very wide, this shoe might not fit width-wise. The staff was very cooperative and sent me an additional pair for fit. No questions asked. First class service.

Love them, but needed to use anti-blister stuff because my foot kept rubbing. The shoes don't come broken in.

My favorite boat shoes were a discontinued Sebago model so when I needed to replace them I stuck with the brand. These shoes are classically styled, which is nice. What wasn't so nice was the break in period: I have never had a pair of shoes that took longer to break in. That includes Frye boots, old school leather hiking boots, etc. I was in pain, daily, for about a month and a half. If I hadn't worn them outside I would've returned them rather than endure that break in period. Even after that was done they were never what I'd call comfortable (compared to other boat shoes I've owned). Other minuses include the leaky soles (no waterproof-ness here) and about a year in the stitching near the lower eyelet as torn out. Wanted to love them but ended up just living with them.
