Great bag. Got it in the gray stripe herringbone color. Just the right size, not too big, not too small. Holds a laptop or Netbook just fine. Plenty of organizers.

This is a great backpack. Very comfortable and spacious. I do have one problem though. One of the pockets comes unzipped on its own and sometimes takes 5 or more re-zips to fix it.

The quality of the merchandise was top-notch. But better than that, dealing with Zappo's is an A+ operation. Attentive customer service for exchanges, free and fast shipping in either direction - could not have worked with a more user friendly operation.

This bag is working well for me. It rolls easily, which is what I needed for commuting to and from campus as an adjunct professor. The bag is my office. Roomy, sturdy, etc. Wish the inside weren't black, but that is minor. Enough compartments, well made. It's a winner.

I like this purse. All of the other shoulder bags I had ordered were way too large. The size of this bag is great for everyday use. I like the external pockets for phone, gum, lip gloss, etc. I'm not completely crazy about the fabric. The glitter doesn't really show up clearly on the picture online. So, that is one downside of the bag, but I really like it thus far.

Grad school perfect. I purchased this bag for my daughter in graduate school; she'd picked it out and said it would be perfect. Reports from her say it has lived up to her expectations. She takes a bus to and from campus so needed something that would hold a lot, be comfortable, etc. and she says this meets all her expectations.

Super cool and big enough for all my stuff. At first when I saw it I didn't think I could fit all my stuff, but it being 11 by 11 by 22 it's more than enough.

I really love this backpack. I needed a new one because my old Jansport had fallen apart, the straps were uncomfortable, the plastic length adjusters broke and became really sharp, and it was too small to hold my laptop, books, etc. This backpack was perfect for what I needed. It fits everything, it's comfortable, it's got two side pockets for water bottles, and a special pocket for my sunglasses!

Great bag. I love the subtle cheetah print and the interior colors add a punch of color in a drab business environment. My one issue with the bag is that there is not a shoulder strap attachment. The bag's handles are long enough to go over your shoulder, but if the bag is full, it makes carrying it awkward. The bag fits easily over the handles of my carry on suitcase and fits well under the seat on planes.

It\'s super cute, I especially love the inside lining. When it first arrived I was a little surprised by how small it was but looks are decieving. It\'s actually very roomy and fit a lot of stuff. I\'m happy with it.

Love the bag and the plaid print. It was delivered on time, in good condition and with no complications. It is multipurpose as my work bag, gym bag, school bag and overnight bag. "Don't leave home without it." Zappos comes through as usual.

Solid back pack. I wanted something that was large enough to hold my laptop, clothes, etc. for random trips and this does it really well. Construction is solid, lots of pockets, etc. Highly recommended.

I bought this bag in black about a month ago. It is very nice and comfortable, very casual, the right size for me, but very simple. It's definitely not worth this price. It is good for running errands or go to school. After about 3 days carrying it around, the paint started to wear off on the outside. It is very cute, but it is not going to last long; will be worn out very fast.

Great backpack! Not only is this an attractive backpack, but it is made very well: sturdy zippers, ample room for all college books, insulated pouch/compartment works great.

Unfortunately the bag has a cheap look to it once you see it in person. The glitter sort of ruins it, but I couldn\'t tell how visible it was when I looked at the picture online. The bag also has no structure to it, and doesn\'t hold very much.

This is probably the best bag I've ever owned. I had a Dakine Prom for a long time, and although I loved all the little specialty compartments and the innovative design, it was just too big for the amount of stuff I needed to carry. I looked at the various Dakine styles and decided to get the Academy. The Academy has the same functional compartments as a Prom: large compartment with padded laptop sleeve; middle compartment with padded gadget pockets, pen pockets, and a zippered pocket; insulated cooler pouch; top sunglasses pocket; side zippered compartment; side water bottle pocket; and a small slip pocket on the front. It also has the same kind of comfortable yoke straps with an integrated grab handle. However, the Academy is a bit smaller than the Prom and better suits a person with a smaller frame. It is just what I needed to hold all my geek gear plus a few books or clothes for study sessions or traveling. The laptop compartment is just right for my MacBook (I have one of the older model white ones). The black Cheetah print is really cute, not too attention-grabbing like some of the other patterns. And, as always, I'm impressed with Zappos and their fast shipping!

I purchased the Dakine wheeled computer and book bag for my 10 year old son. It is perfect for him. Holds all his books and computer. It does not tip over. Very sturdy. Would recommend for children his age and up.

This bag is awesome! I wanted something that was durable, efficient and good looking! This bag has it all. I love the space for my laptop, the easy to access pocket on top for my bus pass, keys and chap stick and it even has a cooler! I keep my Diet Cokes in there. The wheels are pretty smooth compared to others I have tried and the bottom has rubber in case it's wet out. The other thing that this has that is essential is that it can stand upright by itself, this is not true of all rolling backpacks. The handle is easy to use and goes up and down quickly for when you need to use the top handle to carry it up/downstairs. It also maneuvers well; sometimes I push it forward like a cart and it handles well! I have only worn it as a backpack a few times, the straps are comfy and I have not had a problem with the wheels digging into my back. I never write reviews, but love my bag so much I had to write this.

I got this bag for the gym based on the other reviews. It holds a lot and has great organization. I like that the elastic inside keeps shampoo bottles and stuff in place so they aren't sliding all around and leaking which has been a problem for me with other bags. The way it hangs on a shower hook makes it easy to get into and you can use the zippers to open it all the way or just partly. I think it's a great toiletry bag.

I got this bag for the gym because I needed something big enough to hold my post work out clothes, shoes, towel, shower stuff, etc. I got the Dakine Diva toiletry bag (in the matching Black Spyro design) and it fits easily into the bag along with all my clothes and gear. It holds a lot. I wish it had a few more organization pockets, but it fits everything I have to take and the design is super cute. Sometimes it takes some shoving to get it into the gym locker, but that's not a problem with the bag; they just need to make the lockers bigger! I'm totally pleased with this bag.

This bag is great; it is big enough to fit a book, but not too big that it's heavy to carry. I like all the compartments in/out, they are easy to reach. I do recommend this bag for the price.

Love it. When I first got the bag, it was bigger than I had expected from the picture and I was a little reluctant to keep it since I'm not a "big purse" type of girl, but as soon as I started using it, I was hooked. When wearing it, it is super comfortable and doesn't feel bulky at all. I can fit so much in it; it has a giant zippered pocket and 3 smaller non-zip pockets on the inside. My only complaint, and it isn't a big enough complaint to lessen the rating, is that the inside non-zippered pockets could be a little more sturdy to keep my cell phone secure when the bag gets flopped down. I ordered it in black and have received many compliments on it.

About Dakine

In 1979, Rob Kaplan began manufacturing the DaKine Leash in Haiku, Maui, Hawaii. The DaKine surf leash was designed for rigorous Hawaiian conditions and set the standard for innovative design and high quality. After this innovative breakthrough, DaKine started to build on its reputation by building technical surfing and windsurfing accessories, such as in 1980, when pro windsurfers asked Rob to help build footstraps for their new wave boards. Throughout the early 1980’s, DaKine developed the 1st adjustable footstrap, seat harness, and waist harness, defining the company as the leading innovator in technical windsurfing accessories.

DaKine moved their manufacturing and operations to Hood River, OR in 1986; besides being a popular windsurfing location on the mainland, it’s also a gathering place for the best professional snowboarders looking to ride on Mt. Hood. In 1989, after proving themselves as leaders in surf accessories, gear, and bags, DaKine committed to the rapidly expanding snowboard market with board accessories, board bags, and gear bags. By using their commitment to unique designs, high quality, and the desire to stay true to the spirit of the sport, the company would become the world leader in this market over the next 15 years.

Throughout the 1990’s, DaKine moved into the snowsports glove category with a modest three styles, and has now expanded that line to close to 70 models today. In 1996, DaKine introduced the Heli Pack, which helped create the new category of minimalist technical backcountry day packs. In 1998, DaKine sought to surpass the Heli Pack and introduced the Heli Pro. In a short time, the Heli Pro becomes the standard for technical daypacks as well as the sport's best selling (and most copied) model. Also around this time, DaKine moved into skate specific packs, such as the Park Pack, which quickly became known for its innovation and durability.

A true leader in the world of bags, packs, and accessories, DaKine has also built a reputation in the travel category, whether it is board sport specific carriers or luggage. After celebrating it’s 25th anniversary in 2004, DaKine continues to pride itself on developing products for the top professionals in every board sport and building its reputation for innovation and quality for over a quarter of a century.
