My husband found these to be very comfortable. We walked "all over" New England and these shoes were perfect. (He would give the arch support 4 1/2 stars if he could!)

Not what you expect from Born. The workmanship is good, and the shoe is solid. However, it's not a comfortable shoe. There is no arch support, and cushioning is absent. These would be great as a pair of loafers, but not made to walk around in all day.

Is it just my imagination, or have a lot of men's dress shoes become rather silly-looking these days? Sharp points, emblems, zippers, logos, exaggerated contours, who needs 'em? I wanted a classic loafer with basic but stylish design and the Born Bowie fits that perfectly. These have a casual elegance with a mildly retro formality, cool with jeans and awesome with dress pants or a suit. The leather is soft, the construction is quality. The footbed is cushioned, but not mushy, so they provide long lasting comfort. The width is great for an average foot, but these run a little big. Consider ordering 1/2 to a full size smaller than your normal dress shoe. That's it, that's what I know. Rock on fellow Zappos fans.

This is a great shoe. It looks professional, but can be worn with a pair of jeans. I use this when I travel to wear with a suit and in casual settings after meetings are done. Since they are slip-ons, they are also good for getting through airport security.

Got them 3 weeks ago and I really like these shoes. I ended up using a pair standard Dr. Scholl’s insole to compensate for the roominess, which is accentuated by the toe design. Great looking, very comfortable, and no laces!

Born shoes are always hit and miss with me. The sizes and comfort levels vary. Not with these. After only half a day's wear, they are already broken in and more comfortable than any other shoes I own, and I own a few pairs of Clarks. As for fit, I am a size 10½ with regular width and they fit perfectly, they are not destroying my big toes like other Born styles in my size have done before. You should note these are a little lighter than the picture on the site, but they still have a great fall color and very cool worn in look to them. Having owned Born shoes before, I know they will last a while, but I will update this review if there are any signs of them falling apart prematurely. For now, two huge thumbs up. They are highly recommended.

Really comfortable shoe that's good for people with wider feet such as me. The arch support/bump felt awkward the first time wearing them but the more I wear the more natural it feels. The leather is super supple and nice feeling, too. The only issue I take is that the actual color of the leather has more red in it - it's almost a rust-like color - than pictured on the Zappos website. Wish they were a little darker in color perhaps, but nonetheless a great shoe!

Good shoe. Seems well constructed. Not quite as comfortable as some of the Rockports I've had, but that is nitpicking.

Bought these for my husband, who is really picky about comfort. He says these feel like he is wearing slippers, and did not need any breaking-in time with them. I was worried he would need a size 14, but these were big enough for him.

The Bowie is a very comfortable shoe and it looks nice in brown too! I was looking for a semi-casual shoe that would go well with jeans for work and be comfortable enough for walking around. After going through multiple pairs of other shoes, this one has finally lived up to my expectations. It looks a little like a boot when it's on and the lack of contrast stitching or obvious seams make it stand out these days. The leather upper looks a little too smooth at first, but after a few weeks of wear and scuffs, it actually looks better with the extra texture. I love that the shoe has real stitching and looks like it was made with care; there's even some leather patches on the insole where no one but the wearer will see them. The only complaints I have are minor. The insole is somewhat stiff in combination with the hard outsole. Speaking of the outsole, the shoe makes a bit of noise when walking on concrete and in non-carpeted staircases, comparable to some women's shoes, but I can live with that. Last complaint: the wood-like veneer on the heel appears to be glued on. It may peel off over time, but I can live with fixing that. I'll be buying a pair of these in black soon!
