Have been wearing the Wave Riders since the 12 and tried this new version and they are some of the worst shoes I have ever had. They are too wide for my narrow feet which is a huge disappointment. Wave Riders have been my go to shoe for my narrow feet. I feel they make me run more flat footed than a heel to toe stride and my hips really feel the impact. I tried them for 2 months and have had to buy a pair of Brooks Ghost 16s to fit my feet better and more comfortable. Sad to have to change after 16 years but this version is just really awful.

I have narrow feet and the Wave Rider is all I have worn since the 12 - only shoe that has fit my feet and have loved them. The last two years you have been making them wider and the laces buckle up to fit my feet. The shoes run OK they are shorter than normal so I had to go up a half size.
Very sad that I may soon be out of options for my narrow feet.

My last 5 pairs of running shoes have been Mizunos. They offer lightweight support and comfort. I have never had to break them in. The only problem I've had is that the laces are too short. When I called customer service, I was told that I could purchase a longer pair on the site. I was unable to find them. They are still too short, and I can't tie them if I lace them all the way up. Still, I buy these shoes- because I haven't found comparable ones.

Like many reviewers, I have been wearing the Mizuno Wave Rider for close to 15 years. They had a reliable fit and I never had any issues with them. The 28s are significantly different in that they seem to be shorter in length, wider in width, and much less arch support. Overall, a stiffer and worse fitting shoe. I also do not understand the addition of the pointy piece at the top of the back of the shoe.

I have run exclusively in Wave Riders for the last 14 years and have loved every pair until these. The biggest differences for me are these are very chunky, they are boxy in the toe, and come up much higher on the ankle. They cut up my ankle bone after a few miles and Mizuno would not take my return. So disappointing

I have been wearing Wave Riders almost exclusively for 15 years. I am so disappointed in this generation. They feel like Hokas, have no arch support and are much wider. If you want to follow the trends of Hoka etc, make a new model, but don't drastically alter a classic.

I have a very narrow heel and these are the only running shoes that work for me. Please don't ever change the fit!

This was my 6th consecutive pair of Mizuno Wave Riders. I have worn size 9 for the previous 5 pairs, but this time the size 9's were way too short. I have a narrow foot and the width was good. I have already reordered in size 9.5 and they fit well.

True to size. My feet are on the more narrow side and these work well for me. I've also tried Wave Inspire but overall prefer Wave Rider for the fit and support.

I have been wearing Mizuno for about 20 years now and this pair has been one of my favorite. I love the total black out look and they are super comfortable! I went on a trip to Japan and walked around in them when my feet started hurting from my other shoes and never had an issue with these. I am normally a size 8.5 in most shoe sizes and did have to size up recently in mizunos so these pair I wear a 9.5.

I love the orange ones. I liked them so much that I ordered the white and after wearing those a bit they feel more roomy, so I'm disappointed that I didn't try those in a smaller size. I've been wearing Mizunos for years and haven't noticed a big difference between colors before. Either way, I like the new model and they feel supportive for how light they are. In general, I think they run slightly larger than past versions of the Wave Rider.

Mizuno innovation on Wave Rider Running shoes is amazing. The comfort no stress or strain on my feet when running has allowed me to continue with no foot pain etc. A fantastic product cannot wait until the next release.

I have been wearing the Mizuno Wave Rider running shoe for years and it has always had great arch support to reduce pronation. This recent pair doesn't seem to have the same level of support and my feet are pronating more to the point that I'm getting an insole for more support. After investing in a running shoe I shouldn't have to invest in an insole. I'm disappointed in this new iteration of the Wave Rider and will need to go to a different shoe in the future.

Looking to replace my beloved Mizuno's, and these are not the same. There are two big humps between my heel and arch support on both shoes, on the sole insert. I could probably replace the insert but I prefer to be able to wear my shoes without having to modify them for comfort. So strange as my previous Mizuno are hump less and comfy.

I have been buying the brooks ghost and tried these as they are rated high for preventing Achilles issues. They fit a little snug for my normal size and didn't love the off white color. Will keep them for the 6 months but then probably revert back to the brooks ghost. More comfortable and better colors.

I've been wearing Mizuno Wave Riders for over 10 years and every year I read reviews saying that they've changed - for the worse. I've never had that experience until this pair. The toe box is larger than in previous years and while I could live with that by tightening the laces, part of the shoe started rubbing immediately on my right ankle bone and there's no fix for that so back they go!

The right shoe did not fit correctly. It was wider at the toes and slanted inward.

I am so bummed out. I've been wearing Wave Riders since 2012 or so, when I tried some on at Richmond Marathon Expo. I loved them because they fit like a glove on my narrow feet... the toe box was narrow and heel too... NO slippage... VERY springy and responsive. After sliding my feet in I realized right away that you'd changed the shoe dramatically:
1- Too large toe box
2- Too much foam in the heel (maybe 12mm drop but feels like more)
3- Strange extra material at the heel that rubs. Not needed.
I'm not sure what the designers were aiming for? Hoka like? I don't know... I hate this shoe and am returning the 3 pairs I ordered. Not sure what I'm going to do... but will be switching to there brand.
Please don't play around with a shoe that WORKS WELL for runners with narrow feet.
Thanks so much!!!

the sizing is way off on these, and the side comes up on the ankle too high

I have bought at least 4 pairs of this shoe. I like the wider toe box, and the cushion on my runs - both on the road and the treadmill.

I'm training for a marathon and so far have zero complaints about these shoes! They already have 40+ miles on them and are super comfortable! I often struggle with my heel slipping out in other brands of shoes but have not had that issue with these shoes. They are light and hug my foot well without being constricting.

I only wear my Mizuno's for all my marathon and half marathon training. I consistently buy Mizuno's whenever I need new pair of sneakers. They fit and don't give me any issues in my knees or hips like other sneaker brands- highly recommend!

I've been wearing Mizuno Wave Riders for years. I use them for running outside, on the treadmill, and even on my walking pad while working. They are comfortable and have good support.
