I am only a week or so into wearing these shoes for my every day training. They are in rotation with a few others. These are my first Altras. I was hesitant about the lower drop but so far, the 4mm has not been and issue. My feet feel happy and not restricted.
This weekend will be my first long run. I do not anticipate any problems but will update my review should anything crazy happen.

I really like this shoe. I've worn Altras for years but had switched primarily to Topos because I still wanted the wide toe box but wanted a small drop. When these came out, I was intrigued. I will say - they are more narrow than any Altra I've previously worn, and I kind of wish I would have tried a half size up from my usual size. But, all in all, I'd say they're true to size. They're nice and springy and I feel good running in them. The colors are really cool too. I have the blue ones but was eyeing up the neutral taupe-y ones too.

I love the way these feel on a run! Only drawback and was with my previous pairs of Altra Experience Flow. The show laces keep coming untied even sometimes when double knotted. What is up with that?

Great shoes but much smaller toe box than other styles making them not as comfortable.

I was pleasantly surprised with the comfort and style of the Alta trainer. Prior favorites I have used include Saucony and Lululemon, these proved to be a strong contender, providing comfort and support during my runs. I will strongly consider purchasing these in the future and recommend to running enthusiasts.

Liked they way the looked but when I put them on they were very tight/narrow around mid foot. The back ankle cushion also made it feel like it was digging into me.

Bought to replace previous version Experience Flows. What is going on with the offset lacing? And 1 fewer lacing holes? And too short laces if you put a heel lock in place? Seriously Altra, feedback to the product manger who made these changes: they made a great shoe mediocre.
Now I:
- cannot get a proper fit because the fewer lacing holes combined with the offset lacing literally cause the shoe to be less adjustable and thus less customizable to my foot shape.
- I had to buy new laces that are LONGER so I can put the heel lock loops into the lacing pattern. (You have holes there but ship with laces that aren't long enough to use them, why?)
- I am getting blisters on big toes and ball of foot at the inside edge because my foot is slopping around in the shoebecause I can't get it adjusted with the crappier lacing design
- and you seem to be aware that people like your devoted purchasers are in a bind: nobody else makes a shoe like this, so I have to suck it up.
The previous Experience Flow model was far superior, I'm hunting the secondary market for a pair of dead stock.
Put. It. Back. They were great shoes. You ruined them. Why? For someone to put their (new) mark on a design that was brilliant? Petty.

Definitely more narrow than other models I love. I like the way they look but needs to be wider!

The shoes felt comfortable but the material is thin and my toes looked like they were popping through. Also, the front of the shoe is wide and oddly shaped, not aesthetically pleasing. Had to return.

I came back to Altra after ten years because I really need a wide toe box. The toe box on these seem ok, but the rest of the shoe around my foot is unbelievably tight. I wear a size 8.5 in shoes, but always size up to 9 for running shoes. The Altra 9 is tight. I have to loosen the shoestrings so much that the heel slips when I run. I still haven't done a long run in them, so I don't know yet if they will chew my feet up, which is a problem I have with most shoes, and why I went back to Altra in the first place. I haven't decided if I'm going to continue trying to run in them.

I love these shoes. I've purchased several pair. The first was a black pair and when I washed them the toe edge caved in at between my big toe and the first toe and caused irritation. They did warranty the pair and I then purchased the white and blue and another black. Customer service recommended that I order a half size up so I did that, I did feel like they may be a little big but they were still comfortable so I kept both pair. The white pair got a little dirty, and my pet peeve is clean shoes, so I washed them and it did the same thing as the first pair. It's a little disappointing. I don't like the no exchange policy only a return policy because now they do not have the ones I want in my size.

This was my first Altra shoe that I purchased to help lessen my heel pain from plantar fasciitis. I was thrilled the first few days I wore them. They helped my foot to relax more and function better (in and out of the shoe) and served me well in all of the miles of walking I've enjoyed the past few weeks.
However, I wore them off rode (as a spectator only) at an out of town Spartan Race and then at a nature preserve and boardwalk on well manicured trails. They were absolutely magnets to dirt. I have done my best to clean them per instructions, twice now, and I haven't even owned them for 2 weeks. I am so disappointed that I don't think I'll ever get my new, now dingy looking shoes, to their "new" look again. I will purchase Altra shoes again but will likely not ever purchase a light color again. Otherwise, I'm so glad to find a retailer that makes and offers good transitional, cushioned shoes, with a generous toe box for functional toe splay.

Altrayou're killing me! First, I loved the Torin and wore out four pairs. Thenyou changed thosedidn't like the new Torins so I tried the new Altra FWD. I like them much better! I've run four 1/2 marathons and countless training/exercise runs. So I ordered the new AltraFwd Flow experience as the color selection was much better than the AltraFWD. Sending these back. After three training runs, my heel slips out, the toe box seems more narrow and they feel heavier. I tried to love them but my feet and legs feel so fatigued after I run in these. I ordered another pair of the original AltraFWD even though the color selection stinks!! Please quit changing what isn't broken!!! I'm giving it a 3 because it's a nice shoe, just not the same as AltraFWD for me.

Let me start by saying I ran a half marathon in 2019 in Escalante Racers (size 8.5), then have run 2 this year in AltraFwds (size 9, 8.5 seemed ok but in long runs my toenail hit). I currently run in an AltraFwd Experience and New Balance 1080 (9D) rotation but Altra is my fav! I have an extensive collection of daily wear shoes that are almost ALL size 8's. (On, Birkenstock, New Balance, Old Gringo, etc- all size 8). My foot is wide and I have a high arch so when I run *I size up* and I appreciate room in the toe box. I love Altra for this reason!!
So, I made this particular purchase because I wanted a daily wear shoe and therefore ordered both an 8 & 8.5. This shoe is absolutely beautiful! I quickly opted for the fit or the 8.5, there was plenty of room at the end, it actually sort of creased when I walked but that was ok because the 8 was so tight. Unfortunately, these were too tight as well. I ditched them on my drive, it felt like it was cutting off circulation on my feet. Toe room, yes, but this shoe is made for a narrow foot from the heel forward in my opinion. It's a shoe for someone but not for me.
(Please offer AltraFwd in more colors!!)

Wouldn't buy this shoe again. Started squeaking with 2 weeks of wearing to work. Too embarrassed to squeak everywhere I walked, so I had to buy new shoes. Will never buy this one again.

I wish this had a wider toe box like the trail running Altras that I have. Disappointed. Will return to the Brooks Ghost for road shoes.

I bought this shoe last summer and LOVED it. The 2025 version is NOT as comfortable. It feels narrower and my toes feel constrained. Can I buy last year's version?

I loved the fwd experience and after a year bough these to replace them. In the past month and a half since running in them I have had terrible Posterior Tibial Tendonitis after running. The day after wearing I can barely walk. So much so that I haven't been able to run and after a break from these shoes my feet are feeling better. Don't buy these.

I bought Experience Flow (EF) after trying another model that initially were comfy thx to wide/high toe box. But after wearing them in the house my left heel hurt because there was no drop—i.e., the ball of the foot and heel were on the same level. The EF had a 4mm drop and was supposed to remedy that issue. But the footbed overall was much narrower and uncomfortable. Plus, neither pair provided any support whatsoever.

If you have a wider bunion, these might still not be wide enough in the toe box. They are very shallow at the heel, so with custom inserts, they slip down quite low.

I'm training for a marathon. I wear a size 9. The first two pairs I got were fine, but they did take some time to break in. Mileage was still low. Then, I got the white/gray pair, and the shoes always felt tight. I double-checked the size, and it was indeed a 9. I thought they just needed extra time to break in, but I eventually ended up with a posterior tibialis injury. I've read another review mentioning the same injury. These shoes definitely feel narrower, and without width options, I would recommend avoiding them if you have wide feet.

I have MTP fusion in one foot and heading there in the other. My first pair was a game changer, my second pair has caused so much pain in my arch and ankles. Returning after trying for a few weeks.
