Like many others, I have been eagerly awaiting the Escalante 4, and it did not disappoint. I think fellow fans of the 2.5 will likely love the 4 as much as I do. They have all the freedom and flexibility of older Escalante versions while feeling just secure enough in the upper to not float around excessively. The fit through the midfoot is a huge improvement over the 3 and the toe space is downright luxurious. So far, I have done 18 mile and 14 mile runs in them and felt great all the way through both. I have high hopes these will keep feeling good for at least 300-400 miles, which is when I have usually needed to replace Escalantes in the past. It will be even better if they last longer, but we shall see! If you have liked versions of the Escalante prior to v3, I highly recommend trying the 4.

I love this sneaker so much! It is a half-size too big, but with a thicker sock it's perfect. If you're in between sizes, I'd say go smaller. These are so comfy though and supportive on my arches and do not make my knees hurt as they provide a bounce.

I loved these my first run out. The toe box is wide which is awesome. Usually with other brands the toe box is too short and too wide and i end up losing toenails. Didn't have that issue at all with these! The next two runs out i had to stop due to my arches cramping terribly. I have high arches and unfortunately these do not offer enough support. Attempted to wear them at the gym but they are too slick on the bottoms for the floors there. I would say if someone has low arches these would 100% be my recommendation.

I received the Altra Escalante 4 running shoes from BzzAgent in exchange for my open and honest review. I'll begin by saying how incredibly excited I was to be trying these as I was already in the market to find some Altras for myself on a recommendation from my podiatrist! I have a mild bunion on my left foot and pretty severe recurring bunion (first surgery many years ago) on my right foot that prompted me to reach out to my podiatrist and ask about a running shoe that would support my unique feet. To be chosen for this campaign was a very happy surprise! I'm a relatively active female who's in her late 30s and on her feet constantly to chase around two little ones, so having a supportive set of running shoes is critical. It also doesn't hurt when those particular shoes happen to be aesthetically pleasing because I feel like one often has to sacrifice style for comfort and vice versa as was the case with other Nike, ASICS, and New Balance runners I've tried. Luckily, that is not the case with the Altra Escalante 4 runners! They're absolutely gorgeous looking and, despite having a wide toe box, manage to avoid looking clunky. I'll also add that these are true to size (tts) which is rarely the case for my feet. I tend to wear an 8.5 in boots and 8.5-9 in runners (sizing up often because I also have very long toes which tend to cramp up along the sides when squished), and when I opted for the 8.5, I was hoping they would fit tts which they did! My toes aren't squished, and I have room to wiggle my front foot without any heel slippage. Extra bonus is that my feet somehow feel even better than before I started running with these shoes on! The shoes are easy to lace up and stay tight (but not uncomfortably so) even after a long run. I tried them out today on a 4 mile run and was so pleased that afterward my feet felt as great as they did before setting out! I attribute that in part to the zero-drop feature but it's also the overall comfort and support of the shoe itself that helped. I've worn them several times now and can honestly say that I won't hesitate to grab another pair or two of these as they have helped me with my fitness journey SO much! The price point is very reasonable considering their comfort and durability. The only minor thing I would note is that I wish the laces were a bit longer. Very minor point but worth mentioning I suppose. Overall I would absolutely recommend these shoes to anyone and everyone looking for a quality running shoe!

Altra kindly gave me these Escalante 4 shoes for free so that I could review them. I've been a runner for a few years now and these shoes are incredibly comfortable. They are light, with fantastic cushioning plus breathability. I have bunions and these shoes are a bonus is the roomy toe box, which allows my toes to spread out comfortably. No more cramped feeling during long runs! Overall, I can't recommend these shoes enough! Whether you're a seasoned runner or just starting out, I think you'll love them.

I have had trouble finding a shoe that is comfortable and these are so comfortable and my feet no longer hurt after wearing for a long period of time.

These are legit amazing sneakers. I have plantar fasciitis and have been struggling to get back into running again. I started lifting with barefoot shoes, but needed something with a little more cushion for runs. If they're too padded or have too large of a drop, my pain flares up again. I was magically sent a pair of these to review for free and the stars aligned - I freaking love them! No foot pain, they look great, and they don't feel clunky. I'm definitely going to purchase more pairs in different colors. I'd recommend these to anyone. I purchased them in my usual running shoe size.

Unfortunately they were just way too small!! I wanted to love them. I tried running but my toes were just so crowded. Definitely size up at least one size.

I couldn't buy these fast enough when I saw they were going back to the foot shape of the Escalante 1.5. They are roomier in the toes, the laces are longer, and they are lighter. I love them!!!

Instantly I knew I already loved these shoes by the ease and comfort of getting them on my feet... I didn't need to break them in or anything and then wore them all day after exercise. Thee most comfortable shoe I've probably worn to date. After an entire day I could have kept them on even...which I have never felt before. On top of that - they are super cute and sleek. I love that they make my feet look small and they go with everything. I couldn't stop talking about them to people. I would DEFINITELY buy these over and over again.

This is my second pair of Escalante shoes I own and I love them! I've had many other running shoes and none come close to the comfort level these give me. The shoe fits great and gives me the perfect support for running. I will definitely keep purchasing altra shoes over and over again. I highly recommend this shoe if you are looking for a lightweight, comfortable shoe that is perfect for outdoor or indoor runs. These shoes exceeded my expectations. They are comfortable and stylish. The shoes have roomy toe area! I used these shoes running. I have been loyal to one brand but these shoes changed my mind.

Loved the strength and the level of comfort the support the material is high quality long last I really liked that there is space in this front to the point that it fits correctly but without Squishing

I absolutely love these running shoes. At first I was a bit worried as they look like they are very thin and not a lot of support and boy was I wrong! My feet felt amazing in these shoes. The wide front for extra space for my toes made walking and running more comfortable. The support was definitely enough and every step felt very natural. It felt like I didn't have shoes on with how well they fit and flexed with my movements.I will definitely need more shoes like this once these have maxed out on their miles!

I wore these shoes and I like them a lot! They felt a little snug but honestly they broke in well! They are very comfy. I got them from BzzAgent to try them and test them for free. When these wear out I will definitely purchase another pair! I use them at work as well in the hospital, they are very functional and go great with my scrubs!

These shoes are magic! I have the hardest time trying to find shoes to fit my foot. My feet are kind of wide, but not terribly, but most name brand shoes are too tight around the top of the foot. I don't have any trouble at all wearing these and they are so comfortable to take walks in. I would highly recommend trying these out if you need a running/walking shoe.

I love the Altra Escalante 4 running shoes I was able to try through BzzAgent. These shoes were so comfortable. I liked the wider toe box. I was able to comfortably fit in size ten instead of 10.5 Wide that I have to buy in other brands. I would buy these shoes again and would recommend them to others.

These are sooo comfortable makes you feel like your are not wearing any shoes. They are super light weight and I love the colors!

I love these shoes. They are the first pair that have given me a wide enough toe box so my toes stay comfortable during my runs. They are also incredibly light and breathable. I usually run with a stability shoe and I found that these work great and give me enough cushion so that my knee doesn't hurts after 5 miles. They also have enough "feel" through the sole to really make my way easier when there might be bumps or funny steps on my route.

these are incredibly comfortable and I wore them for a street run, at the gym, and a short hike, and these sneakers were wonderful for all these conditions. I love the clean white look, and the wide toe area is great for my wider foot.

I am in love with my new shoes. I have feet with wide toes and narrow shoes tend to cause feet ache. I noticed these shoes are very comfortable, accommodating of wide toes, and soles of the shoes are very soft. Love them!
