Same exact issues as the Olympus 5s. The crease between the upper and the front panel of the shoe digs into the ankle and is painful when stepping. People have been talking about the pinching at the ankle for over a year on the 5s. How have they not fixed this on the 6s!!??

The soles are so padded it took me a minute to get used to walking in them. I can't feel the ground as well - but once I did I really liked them. My feet feel so much better at the end of a long day or hiking The wide toe box is great for reducing blisters also. the ankle is just the right height to add support. Great product.

Top quality boot all around, stability at its best! Supports my ankles, feels comfortable, toe box fabulous..worth the money. Pls come out in a tan sandy color, would be awesome too!

I bought these for duty boots and couldn't be happier. They are super light, very supportive and comfortable. I'm going to order another pair. My only gripe is that they are not a true black, more of a dark grey. I wish Altra made an actual black version.

Great shoes only issue is the shoe is not black, which is the color I needed for work. I'll have to send these back.

I love how roomy and cushy these shoes feel. While wearing the Salomon X ULTRA 5 MID WIDE on my last 16 miles hiking trip I lost three toe nails and developed a painful blister. My Olympus 6 feels so natural to walk in and there were no friction points in the forefoot. I used to wear the Hoka One One, but they discontinued them and now all their shoes feel super tight. Olympus 6 fits me perfectly, so please don't change it's design Altra.

I bought these for a hiking trip because I have plantar fascitis and tendonitis in my ankle, and i was worried about making it worse. And I've started wearing them as my regular barn shoes too because they are so comfortable to be in and I can tie them tight around my ankle and help support it. I love these so much. I only wish the tongue was wider, I have larger calves and there's some gaping

I have been wearing Altra trsail running shoes for the past 10 years and will not wear anything else, mostly because of the foot shaped design. I bought the hikling boots last year before I did the 24 hour Go Ruck Challange. We hiked with a 40 pound pack for 24 hours straight and did close to 40 miles. I never got one blister and my toes felt great. I was the only person in our group that did not have blisters. I am 51 years old and have been an avid hiker my entire life. I have never had a pair of hiking boots that did not give me blisters until now. Thank you!!

Great shoe that matches my lifestyle for constant outdoor adventures and hikes! It feels like walking on clouds with great support and adequate space for my toes to spread out. I hope they keep this model with the all black option. Thank you Altra!

Awesome, supports my ankles very sturdy very comfortable

So far, so good. I mostly use these walking in Chicago in the winter. Snow and ice, occasionally, slippery but the grip is good for the most part. They fit my feet fine but I have worn Altra for years, so I know what size to get for my feet. Other than needing crew length wool socks, all is good. This is the best investment I have made in shoes in years, and I work at a run specialty store. Thanks so much, Altra! Keep up the good work.

First time getting into Altra in the last year. Needed to get wider shoes because of chronic foot pain. After trying a few different pairs from different companies even different lines from Altra I ended up in the Olympus line and I'm happy I found them. I wore Lowa for years and compared to these it's a world of difference. The Olympus is light, has better traction and the wide stable base I was looking for. I saw other reviews about the color, squeaking and creasing. I've been wearing them for almost a month now and I haven't experienced squeaking. In the past in other shoes a dryer sheet takes care of that, just FYI. As far as the color goes, yes it's not totally black but a little Obenaufs leather oil conditioner made it darker and helps with any major creasing in the leather. I also replaced the laces with some 550 cord for a bit of color as I always do with my boots. I'm almost used to the zero drop now and I can tell it's helping with my overall foot health. I feel less sore overall. As said these boots compared to most hiking boots I've owned are very light and comfortable. If I had any suggestions it would be make the rear pull loop a bit bigger for us sausage fingered guys and maybe make the leather a bit thicker. Other than that I think I found my brand and I'm excited to see the next version of these boots. Keep up the great work Altra!

I have been wearing these boots on the job as a law enforcement officer every single day for about 9 months now. They are extremely comfortable with lots of cushion, great traction, optimal toe splay, and most importantly zero drop. I am impressed by how well they have been functioning so far. I like that they carry black in women's since we are required to wear black boots with our uniform. Many companies don't carry black in women's boots. Love that they're waterproof. I spend a lot of time in the woods with my job. Keep making these boots! 10/10!

I wear these shoes for work as Police patrol Officer. amazing comfort and support on hard surfaces and uneven softer surfaces. i wear the trail shoe for golf too.

Comfy right out of the box. Just like ALL the other pairs of Altras I have.

I got these around 3 weeks ago and have used them twice so far. One 6 mile hike and one 3 mile hike. I love them. I was recommended them by my local outdoor supply shop (unfortunately the didn't have the tan color). I love the wide toe box so much. I hated how most hiking boots would squish my toes together. The cushion makes it so much less painful and the traction is super duper grippy. Of course the zero drop took some time to get used to but it's worth it. My ankles feel stable and secure. I loved these so much I bought a pair of Altra road runners.

The best hiking boots I've ever had! So comfy and supportive! I love the roomy toe box. Literally feels like your floating when you walk. They're so lightweight! I love love love these boots!!!!

Seriously.. who writes the comments about these boots? I was hesitant to buy these after reading reviews on this website, but let me say that, I'm GLAD I did. I don't go on crazy hikes or run up waterfalls, but I wear, and really wear, a set of boots when I get them. I had these boots for 4 months now and I wear em every day. Super insanely comfy. I put orthotics in these boots and they are such a dream. Literally the most comfortable things that have graced my feet. I've also spent a lot of time near water with these, and they are definitely waterproof. I spent 2 months in the heart of Labrador working as a fishing guide and wore these around camp cooking, cleaning, collecting fire wood, pumping water, chasing bears, whatever.. these boots were rock solid through it all. I've heard the boots occasionally squeak when you get on a really polished floor. But really, are you going to take marks off an outdoor boot with a Vibram sole because it makes a little sound when you're at the mall? Go outside and put these things through their paces. They will take it, and you will love them.

I bought these to replace my old hiking boots. I wear the Altra Torin daily so I thought I'd try the Altra Olympus Hike Mid GTX and I love them. They are so comfortable and totally waterproof. Love!

I love hiking and thought I'd lost the ability to do longer hikes because of arthritis and other foot/toe issues, but these boots opened that back up to me! They are comfortable, durable, and stable, and they protect my feet and ankles so I can enjoy long hikes and even carry 20-30 lbs comfortably again, with NO additional foot/toe pain. I just recommended them to a family member who also has foot and toe issues.

I've put about 60 miles and 10000' over a handful of hikes in these boots and they are great. I had an accident 2 years ago and broke both calcaneus's in my feet. So I have sensitive feet and ankles now. These are the only boots I've found that enable me to go longer distances with a weighted pack. The have some Olympus 6 lows that I wear as an everyday shoe. The cushioning is just right for sensitive feet, plenty of cushion, but not too soft for carrying weight.

Comfortable, well-built boot that didn't require much break-in time. I had my first multi-day hike with no blisters. Incredible grip and overall good quality. Can't report yet on how long they'll last! Laces are a bit slippy and like someone else mentioned, tongue is a bit short. But really a 9.5/10 from me.

I have had lots of hiking boots and trail running shoes in the past. I got these to get ready for a 14 day trek in Peru. I can say that out of all the hiking boots that I have had these are the best.

I have 3 hikes in with these in rugged mountainous terrain. They cushion against EVERYTHING. I used to be a huge Salomon fan, but Altra is on another level. This is only the 3rd hike so I can't say how long they will last, but so far, no break in period, extremely comfortable and supportive out of the box. I've noticed they kind of muffled the sound of walking too which is nice with my job. I wish they were not so expensive and I wish the tan version came in all coyote tan from top to bottom. The black is a bit too hot with my work in the hot Arizona sun. And the only other color boot I can wear is coyote tan. Please make an all coyote tan boot Altra!!! I got 2 other male co workers to buy Altra hiking boots the very next day too and they love them and said they were super light weight and comfortable out of the box.
