I use these for my daily here in the often wet PNW. I'm not a runner, but have had some foot issues that require a plush cushion and little to no drop. I needed something waterproof and these are amazing!

I live in Alaska, and its wet--almost every day, either from dew or rain, and its muddy. I am very hard on these shoes, and they have held up incredibly well after months of abuse. I do wax them also.

My first pair of Altra's and I, (along with my feet), could not be any happier. About 50 miles in on this pair, ZERO complaints. Definitely buying a fresh pair before my AT attempt next year. 10/10!

The width is great, allows my foot to move without cramping. This is important to mitigate pain that can develop in my metatarsal area. This still allows me to lock down my foot comfortably with maximum support including the heal. Highly recommended.

Out of the box the squeak. If you use them only outdoors on trails, It's not the worst. If you do literally anything else, you'll notice and it will drive you crazy. Road walking, indoors, social events, school, shopping, malls, if the background noise is below a loud conversation and the traveling surface is not loose gravel, you'll hear it. My guess is they cheaped out on bonding the midsole to the outsole and the movement of the two materials creates an insufferable sound, and I'm pretty easy going and don't care about much. The squeaking is a problem with design. They warrantied my pair, so that's nice. But there's a manufacturing problem since someone else commented on this exact same issue. Top eyelet area frayed for me pretty quickly. Not sure why, but it happened on both shoes. Gore-Tex doesn't extend fully up the tongue and there are areas of infiltration in that area so waterproofing is limited by that. Highly disappointing given the cost and what Altra used to be, but could be fixable if indeed they "take feedback seriously and pass along all comments to design team" or whatever the standard line to constructive feedback is. As it is- 2 stars. Do not recommend.

As I've gotten older, my feet have ached more and more in my traditional hiking boots. My friends vigorously recommended getting Altras, so I got a pair of Lone Peaks and Torins and the difference was amazing. 7000' gain and 16 miles in a day and my feet didn't hurt afterwards. But Lone Peaks in a torrential rain storm on a trail that had become a creek could have been better, so I thought I'd try the Olympus GTX and I'm 100% satisfied. I still like the Lone Peaks better, but I knocked out 4000' gain last night (Mailbox Peak, 4000' gain, 5.3 mile RT) with a headlamp and my Olympus's and my feet feel fine today and my shoes did fine on steep compact snow and mud.

I have wide toes. Also had big toe fusion surgery. This angled my big toe up and it was very difficult to get weight into my big toe. My surgeon finally recommended some shoe brands with zero drop. I opted for these Altras. They really help roll my weight into my big toe without weighting my knee to the inside. I can now keep my knee aligned properly. And been hiking in wet weather in the Pacific Northwest; waterproof so far

I'm using it for my day to day walking shoe and I really love the comfort that I could get from it. The foot fitting and cutting is just nice and what I have been looking for my wide feet. I'm really glad Altra is producing such shoe. Thank you again.

Built tough with a wide toe box. Primarily use them when coaching daughter's fastpitch softball, and have put them through the ringer for a full year of running drills on-all dirt, clay, and sandy infields...feet always stay dry on dewy, damp terrains, but haven't checked how they perform in deep puddles. Also double my golf shoe and perform better than my dedicated golf shoes.

Currently prepping for Camino de Santiago de Compostela. Up to 15 miles daily. After about 6 miles, my arches are a little sore. I'm trying insoles.

This is more likely a me problem - I wear custom prosthetic orthotics, and they have more material in the heal cup than the stock inserts, and I think they push my foot forward a bit. I probably should exchange them for a half size up, but I'm not going on any long through hikes and I think I can live with it. I will say that I have to take my shoes to a specialist to have the orthotics custom fit to the shoes and my guy proclaimed these to be outstanding supportive shoes shoes. The cushion height for the Olympus 6 is high, but not squishy like the Olympus 5 therefore they feel very supportive under foot. The combination of the leather upper, the grommetted lace holes and the round laces allow for a good snug secure fit. I do think these shoes are a bit warm due to the Gortex, but hey, I live in Costal Range Oregon, I'll take the trade off. FWIW I wear a 4E width shoe, and the standard fit of Altra's is wide enough for my hobbit feet. These are my 4th pair of Altra shoes, with a 5th pair already enroute, they fit great!

by far the most heavy duty dry comfortable working shoe that I am so comfortable to spend 4 to 8 hours walking 4 to 8 miles a day in these shoes for work chasing little golf balls for hackers

While the shoe construction is very solid and true to fit, I found the shoe inner height a little too high and loose fitting. I used an old orthotic and placed the foam insole over top for a nice fit.

The shoe is supportive but not stiff. It doesn't slide on loose rocky surfaces. Wide toe box lets my toes spread.

If you are new (like me) to zero/low drop shoes, be prepared for sore legs the first week as you stretch. So far I have hiked, paraglided, lounged, and done office work in these shoes. I don't even think about them, and at the end of the day my feel still feel great.
