These look Sharp! First, the customer service at Zappo's is remarkable. Second, I LOVE the look of these boots. I have them in smooth black and they look really nice. I wear a women's size 8 1/2 to a 9. They are roomy, but fit. That's exactly how I like them. I have wide feet and refuse to wear anything that squishes my toes (nerve problems in one foot), and they feel fantastic. Right out of the box they felt a bit stiff, but not uncomfortably so. And I'm big on comfort. And I have to say that NEVER have I had customer service like at Zappos! I ordered these on July 4th, a holiday, mind you, late at night, online. Wednesday, the 6th, there on my doorstep in the morning. FREAKISHLY FAST! In addition, the day after ordering them, I called to tell them I had found the same boots on line cheaper and they did not hesitate to credit me the 110%. Very pleasant customer service person I spoke with. Unbeatable combination of great prices, great shoes and unbelievable customer service. Can't wait to order them in red!

The only boot you need - I've been wearing nothing but Doc's for about twenty years...what else needs to be said?

Be prepared for the first few days of wearing these. These things hurt. Once broken in, though, they are awesome. Great comfort and durability. Honestly the best damn thing I've spent money on in a long time.

You won't find a more durable shoe - I work in New York City, and used to go through a few pairs of expensive shoes each year. I would keep on resoling them, and eventually have to replace. All that changed when I switched back to my college favorites: doc martens. Comfy, and they last. My last pair of these were worn every work day for 2 years. I walk a lot, in all weather, and they held up great. Just bought a new pair.

Gotta Love 'em - I got my first pair of 1460s in 1995. Finally had to replace them here in 2005. Worked out to be about $9 a year. Not too bad. I loved the worn-in, beat-up look of my old ones, but a brand new pair looks pretty slick too. They are not for someone who needs cushy cushy shoes. The insoles are very firm and flat, but I find them comfortable. As for break-in I got my new pair and laced them tight. Wore them hard and after 3 days, they are totally broken-in. Once broken in, I loosen the laces to the point of slip-on. If DM ever plans on retiring this line, I will buy several pair at once. Rock-on.

No Better Server - Ok, I have never worn Doc's before, so I order what I thought would be the correct size. Unfortunately, they were a size too small when I received them, but due to Zappo's excellent return policy, I was able to return them and reorder the right size. Both times they arrived very, very quick and I am 110% satisfied with my experience shopping here. And the Doc's are awesome once I got them broken in.

Awesome boots, awesome deal! I am a public school teacher and learned very quickly that sneakers nor loafers were for me. Being on my feet all day, I quickly realized that hiking boots were for me. When a pair of my favorites crapped out on me I bought my first set of Doc Marten's. This black pair is my third pair of Doc Marten's. They last forever, are impossibly comfortable, stylish, and easy to break in. Take it from a person who is on his feet all day - Doc Marten's are worth the money and so are these!!!

Still The Best!!! This is the 5th pair of Doc's I've owned over the past 10 years or so & they're still great. However, this is the first pair that I've bought now that they are made in China. I was a little skeptical at first because of some of the reviews on this site. But I've had them for a month now & I think they're just as good as the English made boot. I'm not sure why some of these reviewers are talking about having to break the Chinese boot in because I always thought there was a substantial amount of having to break in the English boot as well. It seems no different to me & I am very happy:)

Best Boots Ever - These are the original, the classic. More comfortable (after a couple of weeks, the footbed will mold itself to your feet) and durable than anything similar, they'll last you every season for years.

IMHO - Quality and design is quite similar to the Uk ones- time will show how durable this ones are. Fast shipment and overall excellent customer service ; two thumbs up !

Dr Marten's 1460 - I look the boots and they take about a week to break in due to the hard shoe leather. I expect years of use just like my previous two pairs I bought of different models. My only disappointment is that they are now made in CHINA! Dr Marten's was one of the last shoe companies to move manufacturing from Great Britan. I probably will not buy anymore due to I would like to support workers with a real standard of living!

Finally the right size, texture and color in black. I can simply say that three times is the charm for purchasing the Dr. Martens 1460 Series in both in color being black and texture being smooth. I miss the lining that used to be inside the shoe, but the shoe is a classic and does not fade with fashion trends. In addition to my burgundy and Aztec crazy horse pairs, I now have the right size. Sizes 9 and 10 were too small but 11 is just right, since I have Irregular width size.

Great service by Zappos. Ordered on Sunday, received on Tuesday. The Docs are cool and were in excellent condition. They are a little loose in the heel, but I intend to put a decent insole in them. Too bad they don't come in half sizes.

After 20 years in the US Marines, I've worn many types of boots. I will say without hesitation that DM 1460s are the easiest breaking in, most comfortable boots I've ever worn. I used to swear by Altama jungle boots, but no longer. The 1460s are a bit stiff at first, but within two miles, they are thoroughly broken in.

This was my third pair!!!!!!!!! I have many pairs of DM now, and out of all of them I fully recommend the steel toe caps. They have been a foot saver at many many gigs and I wouldn't be without them for any money!!!

Good Shoes - As an EMT I'm on my feet all day and these shoes are comfy - better than klunky boots others wear for the same price if not more.. Zappos gave me quicker shipping than they said they would and I saved a bundle from buying them from the stores. I think that people criticizing Chinese production don't know what they're talking about... the shoes are the exact same.

1460's rule! I have 12 or 13 pairs of this style in various colors and patterns. The only problem I've had with them is break-in. They have a tendency to rub the back of my legs at the top on the outside of the leg. This was solved by cutting the top part off an old pair of socks and putting them over my socks making a double thickness there. No more rubbing. I wear and own nothing but Dr. Martens footware. Love them all.

20+ years of same boot style - I purchased my first pair over 20 years ago in London. They have been all over the world with me, Asia, The USA, all of Europe, Eastern Europe, and still are the most comfortable pair of shoes I own. ( I have bought over 15 pair by now..) My only gripe to date is the last pair I bought, in LONDON no less, were made in CHINA??? Whats up with that? The leather and fit were completely different than what the UK mfg. Doc's were. But, after a quick trip to a hot shower, and a complete breakdown with saddle soap, shaving creme and the a slight spit shine with Kiwi polish, they are quite comfortable. ( Damn Marines never wear a pair of boots out of a box, we always break them down, and repolish!~ smiles ) Just wish they were made in UK still, hate to buy Chinese!

First official pair of Docs - I decided on these boots because I have been wanting a pair of Docs for years, but never could find a style I liked in any stores. I know these are among the originals and I prefer a simple, classy, basic look to my shoes. I just got them and they're pretty stiff, and a little loose feeling through the ankle. I could probably have used a half size down but obviously don't have half sizes. I think I'm going to love them once they break in. They look great, just as pictured. I've read many other rave reviews here, and figure that I'll give it a shot and keep 'em!

So Happy! The last pair of Doc's I had lasted me for almost four year's. I found them again on this site and was so happy. Amazing price for these boot's! That was the only thing stopping me from buying another pair before now. I didn't want to spend the money other sites and store's wanted for them. I recieved my boot's today and couldn't be happier. I just have to break them in. Only downfall is no half size's. I can deal with that though to have another pair of my beloved Doc's!
