Love the shoes, have become my 'daily driver'. Unfortunately I supinate a bit and the left shoe came a bit pronated so there was a small battle to settle the shoe correctly but I'm 195# and I won. I wish in general all mass-produced shoes had slightly better quality control (you can see the difference in the right vs. left). But overall they are great and I may buy the grey too as I retire other shoes.

The Cascadia are a decent shoe, but I would purchase the GTS shoe 93 times before purchasing the Cascadia again. I thought as a trail shoe the material would be thinker or stiffer. The area around the toes needs redesigning.

This is a very attractive shoe, and the sole traction and lateral stability are great. I've worn Brooks running shoes for years, and the wide width usually fits me perfectly. In this case, the toe box and length were fine, but the Cascadia 18 was uncomfortably snug across the ball (widest part) of my foot. These aren't hiking boots and shouldn't need a "break-in" period

I absolutely love these shoes. I have been looking for a good pair for some casual running, hiking, and everyday wear. I have been dealing with some ongoing plantar fascitis due to wearing shoes that were not good for my feet. These have surpassed my expectations and I would recommend them to anyone and everyone!

I've been using the Cascadia 18 (wide version) for a few weeks now and I'm very impressed with them. I started with a 4-mile run on day 1, followed by a 21-mile trail run with some off-trail scrambling (low class 3) on day 2. Since then, I've done several more trail runs and a 10-day backpacking/scrambling trip with them.
The shoes have held up great, with minimal wear, even in conditions that quickly destroyed another brand I had been using. The soles are very grippy on rock and scree, and the edges are firmer than some other trail runners, allowing me to use them longer before switching to boots with a hard edge.

I decided to give the Cascadia 18s a try since I've known Brooks is an excellent running shoe company. Normally, I wear Merrell Agility Peaks, so they're my primary comparison point.
The Cascade 18 materials seem every bit of what I expected. They're well built and after my initial mileage, I saw nothing that would suggest that they would break down prematurely. I really liked the materials on/around the toe. I didn't have any fear of stubbing my toe during a run/trot on a wooded trail.
The major issue, for me, was I did have mid-foot pain. It felt like patellar tendonitis, which I've never had in my foot. Initially I wrote this off as a break in period, since it occurred a little in to my 7mile trail. Giving them another chance, the pain occurred again on a 2 mile trail, about a quarter mile in. Again, this isn't something I've experienced. I decided to try adding an insole I have for my soccer boots, and this solved the problem on a subsequent day. I spent about 8 hours on my feet that day without issue.
I'll be adding these to my rotation, but I will be sure to include insoles and may buy something specifically for these shoes.
I did wear these shoes on particularly hot days and had no issue at all with the heat affecting my feet. Top marks there.
If you have any hint of arch issues, I wouldn't hesitate buying these as long as you also have an additional insole.

I bought these for my son in a wide for his upcoming half marathon near Moab.
He likes them. I run in nothing but Brooks - Cascadia for trail, Ghost for the roads. Best shoe for me and hope my son feels the same. Wish you would off more colors in wide.

Great shoe for a big man. I feel like too many shoes are to "cushy". This has the right balance of support and soft cushion. (My only criticism is of Brooks: more wide shoes and more wide shoe color options, please.)

I have tried all the top brands, looking for something better, I always end up
back with the brooks cascadia. I will no longer look for something better, these are the shoes

So far, so good. Wore them on Backcountry Rise 50K in August and they performed well. Fit feels similar to the Cascadia 17s which Ive been wearing and been really happy with. As an older trail runner (60) the weight of the shoe is offset by the support and stability this shoe provides.

I ordered the wide version and the fit is perfect. Great stable shoe with plenty of cushioning. Not too plush but very comfortable. I like it a little better than the 17.

I am so excited I found these hiking shoes! I live right next to a hiking mountain that leads up to a nice tower and Im always looking for all-terrain, true to size hiking shoes that have a lot of grip on the sole and let me tell you, these shoes have everything! The color of the shoes goes with any outfit you have which is perfect! They are on the heavier side for weight of shoe, but thats because they are made for hiking and not for running. Overall, I love them and cant wait to hike up so many mountains with them!

I recently got my 1st brooks running shoe, the cascadia 18 which is an all terrain trail runner that looks & feels great. Its lightweight & had a very comfortable fit straight out of the box. Im a distance trail runner who likes to run 30 plus miles weekly thru the trails & state parks & this shoe was the perfect shoe for that specific task. I cant express how much I recommend this shoe if you do any off road running whatsoever. The sole on the shoe has a very aggressive tread great for running in the rain & slick conditions. Secondly, the lightweight upper is super thin and dries very quickly after a run where sweat, rain mud & other debris is easily cleaned off, dried & ready for another day on the trails. The material is also very breathable which is great for anyone who has swamp foot like myself. My feet tend to sweat more & smell worse than most & this shoe really helped with both. Finally the design was great for a father whos used to wearing more basic shoes when running. I went with the gray and white for a more low profile sleek look that didnt scream look at me. This was my 1st brooks shoe & im blown away with the comfort of this trainer, Ive heard great things about the brooks shoe lines but Ive passed on them previously bc I thought the shoe was too heavy for long runs, but the cascadia 18 found the perfect balance of lightweight, comfortability without slacking on the asthetics. So anyone looking for a super lightweight trail runner, this is the shoe for you!

These shoes have excellent stability on trails regardless of the slope or incline. No issues of slipping or rolling with the lateral support, treads stay firmly under foot. Great traction comparable to cleats with greater comfort and superior ability to transition from offroad running to Frisbee football in grass to distance walking at the mall. Highly recommend!

These are primarily meant for trail running but I haven't had a chance to truly break them in that way just yet. I did get to road test them, though, so take that for what it's worth.
The fit on these is absolutely perfect. Snug but with the right amount of room to breath. They're also incredibly lite. I was worried they'd feel a bit bulkier than my other pair of runners but they may be even more comfortable. I think they'll be even better when my foot molds into them more.
The shoes are constructed well and look great, too. So far I'm very happy and can't wait to keep running in them.

So far, Ive been loving these for my trail runs! Its stable and offers good support with the thick cushioning around the heel. I like the reinforced protection around the shoe, since it allows for greater ventilation while protecting against rocks and debris. However, do note that the tradeoff is that there is less coverage on the upper. Also, there are velcro straps on the back of the heel for gaiters. Thats a small, but a very neat addition.
Fit wise, they are just a bit snug but pretty true to size. Not for wide feet though!

The Cascadia 18 right out of the box has an amazing silhouette. The coconut color model has a clean look, with all of the classic Brooks details. The shoes are extremely comfortable, very light, and fit almost perfect to my foot. The lace system works great and feels very secure. I have worn the Cascadia 18 on several trail runs, through water, mud, heat, and rain. The grip and cleat like sole pattern makes for great balance and amazing traction! Even on wet ground the Cascadia 18 were solid and provided support! the mesh material allows my feet to breath even during warmer days. I would highly recommend the Cascadia 18.

I've been running in these shoes for the past few weeks and absolutely love them. My running path has sections of pavement, gravel, and dirt. I've not had a pair of shoes that handle the transition between all those terrains nearly as well as these. When first trying them on I was a bit concerned that they might be too stiff but they broke in after only a couple runs. I feel a tremendous amount of support around the ankle and heel. It's most noticeable when running on pavement. In the past, I would typically slow my pace when I hit the pavement sections because I could feel my shins absorbing the shock, but I've not had to do that when wearing the Cascadia 18s.
The color and design of a shoe is not typically all that important to me; I care more about the utility and comfort. That said, I've enjoyed the appearance of these shoes and have received more compliments than I've ever received for a running shoe. The thing I like most about these shoes is the breathability of the fabric. I live in central Texas and run outdoors in the summer, so I feel pretty confident is saying they are breathable in even the warmest of conditions!
My only (minor) qualm with these is that the eyelets for the laces feel a bit
like I might unintentionally snap them someday. Everything else about the shoe feels highly durable so it has stuck out to me as being potentially the only point of weakness.
Overall, I'm a huge fan of these and looking forward to many more satisfied miles!

After using these shoes for the past few weeks they will be my new shoes for all outdoor activities! They have a thick sole and are extremely comfortable to wear and run in. The tread at the bottom of the shoes gives it great grip when running through lose dirt or gravel making them the perfect running shoe for any trail or even hike. The shoe itself is very sturdy and I could absolutely see wearing them for any camping trip or more generally outdoor activity.

Overall, the Cascadia 18 is a fantastic trail running shoe that excels in traction, stability, and overall durability. Sizing was perfect for these and fit as expected. The styling of the shoe is solid and they can be worn even when not running on the trails. They were easy to break-in as I was able to run 5+ miles the first time out. Keep in mind that they are slightly more chunky which contributes to their durability, but they are heftier and something to keep in mind. I believe these shoes will last a long time and will be fine even in colder or wet conditions. Definitely worth a try if you are looking for a stable trail running shoe!

I purchased the Cascadia 18s as a shoe I could wear both jogging and hiking. I have some dirt trails near by where I would feel more comfortable in a more durable running shoe and these shoes were the perfect match. They provide excellent stability and can handle the conditions of an off trail jog. They are also light enough where I can use them for a regular road run as well. The sizing was true and it only took a few wears for the shoe to break in. The overall style is solid and not too flashy which I appreciated as well. I can wear these for a walk around town if I need to as well. I would definitely recommend these shoes to a friend looking for a versatile work out shoe for the summer.

As someone who regularly hits the rugged trails of the White Mountains in New Hampshire and spends substantial time weightlifting, finding a shoe that excels in both areas has been a challenge. However, the Brooks Cascadia 18 has proven to be a versatile and reliable companion for both my hiking and lifting needs. Heres a thorough breakdown of my experience. The Fit: Brooks Cascadia 18 offers a snug yet comfortable fit. The first time I laced them up, I felt a secure hold around my midfoot, thanks to the improved lacing system and the updated internal saddle. This fit ensures my foot stays in place during intense movements, whether it's tackling steep inclines or executing power lifts. I often use the shoe while hiking in the White Mountains climbing 4000 footers. On the trail, the Cascadia 18 provides excellent ground feel without sacrificing cushioning. The shoe features a balanced cushioning system that absorbs shock on rocky terrain while maintaining enough responsiveness for quick, agile movements. During weightlifting sessions, the stability of the shoe is apparent. The firm midsole and the low heel-to-toe drop provide a solid base for squats and deadlifts, making it a surprisingly good option for lifting. The design of the Brooks Cascadia 18 stands out with its rugged yet sleek appearance. The shoe's aggressive outsole pattern is not just for show; it delivers exceptional grip on various surfaces. The rock plate is a great addition, offering protection from sharp rocks without compromising flexibility. Aesthetically, the shoe balances functionality with a modern, stylish look that doesnt scream trail shoe, making it versatile enough for casual wear. The fabric used in the Brooks Cascadia 18 is durable and breathable. The upper is made from a mesh material that allows for excellent ventilation, keeping my feet cool during long hikes and intense lifting sessions. Additionally, the overlays are strategically placed to enhance durability without adding unnecessary weight. The fabric dries quickly, a crucial feature when hiking through wet conditions or crossing streams in the White Mountains. What I appreciate most about the Brooks Cascadia 18 is its versatility. It seamlessly transitions from the trail to the gym, providing the necessary support and performance for both activities. This dual functionality has made it a staple in my footwear collection. The traction is another highlight. Whether Im navigating loose gravel, muddy paths, or wet rocks, the grip is consistently reliable. This has significantly boosted my confidence on challenging hikes. The toe box, while generally comfortable, is a little loose. Overall, the Brooks Cascadia 18 is an impressive shoe that meets the demands of both hiking and weightlifting. Its fit, design, and fabric work harmoniously to provide a comfortable and reliable experience in diverse settings. The versatility and performance of the Cascadia 18 make it a standout choice for those who, like me, seek a shoe that can handle the rugged trails of the White Mountains, weekly long runs, and the heavy lifts in the gym. I would highly recommend this shoe to anyone looking for an all around sleek and durable shoe.
