I have narrow feet and I often find women's larger sizes fit my feet well. On the flip side, my wife has wide feet and gets the men's smaller sizes. Last weekend, we bought ourself the Mach x2. I had the Mach x and found them a little too firm for the longer runs. These were very nice. My legs felt fresh after mid distance 11 mile run. The heel is a little flimsy and I felt my heel slip, so I tied them too tight. Unfortunately they rubbed the side of my lower ankle and blisters formed. I tried them for a short 10k tempo run today and found them delightful. I didn't tie the shoes too tight and my blisters were barely noticeable (of course I had blister tape and compression socks). If they had a little more heel support, it would be a solid 5 start from me. My wife had no issues, she wished they were a little more room in the toe box.

Tip for knee pain when wearing these: The first time I ran in these, they caused my knees to hurt. I almost returned them, but I read a lot of reviews & people were saying it's the dip in the heel that causes this. I bought some lifts and placed them under the insole and now the shoes are very comfortable to wear.
I'd also recommend:
I usually wear Brooks, but wanted to try Hoka runners. My Hoka walking shoes are so comfortable.

I bought these because it looked like they had great cushion and I was right. I wasn't a fan of the Bondi's. They made my feet look like clown feet. I'm not a runner at all ... these are good for my knee problems somehow. My only complaint is they fit a little tight around the top of my foot and it rubs where the seam is where the laces are sewn in... need footies with them.

I like the shoes. A lot of cushion. Feels like you're walking on a cloud. I don't like that it feel like it's turning but that could be the way I walk. I'll recommend them.

The fit and size was perfect for me. I have always ordered a size 8 in Hoka. The shoes feel great under my feet. I do wish Hoka would have put some padding under the tongue and more in the back of the heel. Those are the only reason to not give a five star review. The back of the heel is so flimsy, they are hard to put on without a shoe horn. They are extremely light and bouncy and for me that is good. I will be keeping these but only time will tell on buying a second pair.

Love these shoes. Super squishy, lots of support. Feels like they won't break down quickly. Only issue is that I always get an 8.5 in Hokas, and I wish I'd gotten these in 9. They do fit, but just feel like I'm wearing shoes (which I don't usually in Hokas)

very difficult to put on - i have to hold onto the tongue so it doesn't curl and the heel flap tucks in and i have to pull it out / very difficult for an octogenarian with arthritic fingers

Really wanted to love this shoe, as it's forgiving and the new colors are amazing. But people are right: the heel cup is terrible. I used a runner's loop to ensure a secure fit but still experienced rubbing around my Achilles within 30min of running. The ride itself was just okay - not as snappy or propulsive as I was expecting for fast running, yet not fun enough for long/slower miles. Overall, not great enough to warrant trying to finagle the heel fit. Hoka made the exchange super easy though, and have many other shoes that are far superior in fit/feel than the Mach X2. Five stars for customer service.

Beautiful color. Weird material. Too narrow but otherwise comfortable.

I love Mach5 & 6 have many pair but always out of stock. Mach x2 pushed my foot to the outer side and the laces were crooked.

These shoes are the perfect shape, have perfect soles, and have the perfect look. What's not so perfect is the heel. The back of the shoes used to be white; they are now red with my blood. I usually run around 3 miles of road running on run days and train on the track on the other days. I have narrow feet and struggle with random foot pain. This shoe solved both of those issues. The problem lies right where you can see it. They tried doing this crazy design with a little piece of fabric rising above the heel of the shoe- but don't be fooled. The shoe ends where the teal stitching ends- and it rubs up against your heel! With thick socks and bandaids, it's fine, but without it the pain is #unbearable. I will continue to wear these shoes, and I hope they innovate them because the concept and the carbon plate were well done. These puppies just weren't tested as well as they should have been. I also like the thin backing on the shoe because my old Hokas' plastic popped out after a year of wear and gave me blisters through that. Dear Hoka, work on blister prevention, lol.

The color way had me hooked!! However, after wearing these shoes for my 12 hour shift totally not for me. They have no give! The tongue of the shoe is attached to the lace wall which doesn't give much for movement. And at the back of the heel there seems to be little cushioning. The shoe is very light which I liked but honestly these just aren't for me.

Really lightweight and responsive, but they're going back, as they gave me blisters.

These shoes are extremely hard to get on first of all. Once you get them on you feel these lumps in the back upper heel, pushing in the back of your foot/heel. As you're walking, you can feel the pressure and I've only worn them twice and I have red marks. I noticed the front of the shoe is much narrower than a regular Hoka shoe I have enjoyed in the past.

This shoe does not have any back heel padding, so if you have narrower feet, you may feel slipping.

I simply love the way these feel for training- light and fast, BUT both heels dig into my feet to the point where I had blisters. They fit fine- after years of wearing Hoka, I know these are the right size. Looking at other reviews, I see this is a flaw of this model.. hope they fix it, because otherwise they are a great speedy trainer.

TLDR: If you are a fan of the original Mach X, do your research before considering the switch to the X2's.
I've gone through three pairs of Mach X's and absolutely loved everything about the fit, feel and overall performance. I was due for my fourth pair and Hoka had just released the X2's. I did my research and while I wasn't totally sold from what I had read I decided to give them a try in the hopes that these would be the new and improved version of the original X's. I've put around 200 road miles on these sneakers in the last 4 weeks and safe to say I am disappointed with these. As with many of the other reviews, the new heal design is flimsy and a pain to get into. Then once they are on, I've found my heal moving around inside the shoe. While the heal feels loose, the rest of the shoe feels too snug and narrow. I've always been a 9 in Hoka but wish I had sized up with these. Aside from this, I have been experiencing all kinds of post-run foot, leg and hip pain as well as significantly tougher recoveries. Tons of foot cramping in my arch and hip pain throughout the day after my longer runs. The only change i've made to my routine was these sneakers. I'll most likely revert back to the original Mach X since that was tried and true for me.

I wear a 7.5 in my Hokas, but these were way too small. If you're planning to order these, definitely size up by .5. I ended up returning instead of exchanging after reading some of the other reviews on blisters.

While this shoe is a great road racer and makes you feel fast, you'll need to wear very thick socks to prevent heel blisters. Ran 8 miles in them and felt a bit chafed, then raced a half marathon a few days later and had massive blood stains from where the shoes dug into my skin. I even wore the socks with the tabs in the back that went above the cut of the shoe and it didn't help. Bottom line: there are equally good running shoes on the marker that won't cause pain. Opt for those instead!

I really wanted to like this shoe. I normally run in Nikes but I always see folks wearing Hokas, and they have some cool color schemes. So, I decided to try them. They look nice but they gave me really bad blisters the first time I wore them. I even tried runnng in them two more times. But it was the same problem. They felt really comfortable but they made my right knee hurt after running, which has never happened to me before. Those things, plus the fact that they stretched out of shape pretty easily, made me decide to return them. Sadly I'm going back to Nike for my running shoes.

The back of the ankle is low and very rouch - zero padding. It rubbed and was very uncomfortable. I'm sure I would have gotten blisters if I wore it for more than a few minutes.
