Well the reviews are true, this would be a perfect shoe if it did not tear up your heel! after two miles a painful bleeding heel and in another half mile the other one. I do not have heel problems EVER this is not a thing I have ever experienced - but when you see the flimsy heel material you will see why. Doesn’t matter how light and cushy if I am bleeding Hoka!

I did not try them on. Unfortunately, I didn't get that far. The shoe upper is transparent. I held it up to the sky and could see through them. The heel is VERY thin. The sole of the shoe is excellent, but the upper was not up to par with other Hoka shoes. I am an avid HOKA wearer. This was disappointing. They were immediately returned.

I ran a 15k in my new Mach X2 and they were awesome. The shoe is light, but cushioned. I feel like my legs didn't get tired during the race and that helped me rock the last 5k of the race, with a huge negative split. Love these shoes!

Back for my 2nd pair. You might put this on and think "meh"- not as stacked as other carbon shoes; perhaps not as soft; perhaps not as sharp on the toe off. Wear it. Run in it. Keep coming back to it. This shoe has your back (and your calves, quads, and feet). It won't let you down. I own a stable of carbon shoes, and there is no other shoe like this one in terms of keeping your stride steady, offering a comfortable, peppy roll, and never rolling you astray. For longer runs, I'll look at my ridiculous stash of carbon shoes and think, "hmm.probably not a good idea with my calf a little stiff. Hmmmthat might cause some havoc with that dodgy knee." I NEVER think that with this shoe. For tempo and intervals, I'll sometimes WANT that "other" peppy shoe; but I'll never truly trust it. After six months of coming back to the Mach X2 time and time again, I'll keep reaching for it. When I'm tired (as in starting a half marathon or marathon in the third leg of a triathlon), this shoes rolls fluidly, springs nicely, and never ever causes pain. Wear socks, tie your shoes, and stop looking at the heel. I've never had a single blister, and I'm wildly blister prone. Hoka, please don't ever take this amazing shoe away from us.

I tried the Mach X2 on a chance about a year ago and they were exactly what I needed. They have a great push off and are lightweight. They are also pretty and have come out with some good colors.

Love how they feel and the coloras are stunning. I am a 7 and I needed a 1/2 size bigger because they run smaller.

I know a lot of people have had problems with blisters in these, and on my first wear I did get my heels torn up a bit (found the same thing to be true of the Rocket X2). Not sure if my heels just calloused up or I wore down whatever in the heel collar rubbed, but I have had zero problems since. Fun and snappy trainer that I've done all of my speedwork in since I got them. Responsive and springy but substantial enough I am able to wear them on dirt and gravel without fearing for my ankles. I am about due for a new pair and was hoping all of the bad reviews re: the blisters would make then go on sale but I will just have to buy full price lol.

Surprised to see so many low ratings because the Mach X and Mach X2 are my favorite shoes ever! I have Both feel great for all paces, but the X2 feels a lot speedier than the original. I have ~350 miles on the X2 and think I'll get around 100 more. I wear it for everyday slow runs, fast track workouts, and long runs. Really cushiony but also responsive. I haven't had any problems with the heel so far, although I usually always wear the feetures max cushion socks. Highly recommend :)

My favorite running shoe I've ever had. It's incredibly responsive so I was surprised to see it's an everyday running shoe. I would use for race day as well. There is a plate in the shoe that mimics carbon but it lasts longer so I have been running 12+ miles per week for months now and have only seen a slight decrease in bounce from the first time I wore them. I'm running longer and at a quicker pace than I have ever run. I'm just really happy about this purchase and will definitely get another pair once these are toast. I haven't seen an issue with the width. I have an average foot, wear average/thicker athletic socks and also wear inserts for arch support, so with all that it doesn't feel cramped.

I generally run about 3-5 miles per day and having been a lifelong runner, have also tried just about every brand & model running shoe out there. Since discovering the HOKA Mach series, I have not veered away since. The MACH X2 differs a little from the regular MACH in that it has a firmer feel and kind of propels me forward. It is a little difficult to get on, but once they are on and I am running, they feel like a dream. I noticed some reviewers talked about getting blisters, but that has not been the case with me and I've already put quite a few miles on these. This is my shoe!

These shoes are great. Ever since I had a TKR 3 years ago I felt like my leg was dragging. Since wearing these shoes I am not having that issue.

I loved the first version of the Mach X. I've also tried every recent super shoe available, but many of them cause me to overpronate (including the Cielo X1). The Mach X2 is absolute perfection for my stride- great pop in midsole without throwing me to the inside of my stride/knee. For me, it rolls similarly to the Saucony EP4 but with more pep. I also like the Skyward X, but that shoe often feels clonky. I have the ninniest most blister prone feet in the world (and I am the loudest complainer about an uncomfortable upper), but I was SHOCKED to have no problems whatsoever with the heel of the Mach X2. The Mach X2 is working for tempo runs and long runs, and it will be my racing shoe. So many new super shoes to choose from- find one that works and stick with it. The Mach X2 can do it all, and I love it.

Great fit and responsive. The heel rubbed a little bit but that stopped when I wore Bomba running socks.

After trying a different HOKA shoe that didn't work for me, I went to the local running store and tried on several different shoes and these were the stand-out pair. I ran 4 miles in them this morning and they felt phenomenal. These are comfortable, supportive, responsive, and light. They also have a great aesthetic with the bright colors. I plan to wear these for my longer runs while training for my first marathon and during the race. Hoka, you did it with these shoes!

I admit I had some concerns before purchasing due to mixed reviews on the heels. I'm here to say they are wrong! I have done multiple runs now in them and they are amazing. They are light as a feather. They are fast. You can feel yourself spring forward during a run. You are running on clouds! They are my new race shoe. I will be wearing them as I toe the start line of the Chicago Marathon next week. Let's go!

The Mach X2 is truly amazing- my first fast run I went 7:30 pace instead of my usual speed run pace of 8. They are super propulsive- feel like I'm being pushed by the shoe! I'm a senior runner and am always looking for a way to recapture the speed of a few years back. I bought these for speed workouts and longer races . They are not unstable- I need pronation support and the heel is no issue for me -comfortable and no rubbing. I would feel either of these issues- they are not there! I Strongly recommend these as a speed shoe!!!
