After years of wearing Keen-style athletic sandals and being disappointed at their short shelf life (I'm hard on shoes), I went for these stylish Birks. So far I love them, although the tops of my toes are still irritated by that bottom strap. I think that's just something one has to get used to, but I'm still feeling that. They look great and feel great otherwise.

I do not think Birkenstocks are at all stylish but wanted comfortable sandals to wear around the house. These soft footbed sandals are very comfortable. I would recommend trying the narrow width. I have never worn shoes in narrow but definitely need the narrow in this sandal.

After no luck finding these shoes in a store (so that I could try them on!), I finally ended up ordering different sizes from Zappos.com. Thank you Zappos! Anyway, you will read plenty of reviews that will tell you that these are "like snowshoes" and SO wide/long/big everywhere, etc. I'm here to tell ya, that was not the case for me. I wear a very true-to-size 8 in all other shoes, and my foot is not considered "wide". I also have the beautiful luxury (not!) of having my second AND third toes slightly longer than my big toe. This posed a problem when I came to sizing, but I was determined! I ended up trying on THREE sizes of this same shoe. First the 38 NARROW, which after reading all reviews was what I expected to fit. No go. Since the issue seemed mostly due to my other toes and not the big toe, I tried a 38 REGULAR next. I REALLY wanted those to fit! The soft bed is so comfy! But after trying on the 39 Regular, I was sold. 39 should have been my size all along (its a womens 8), but the reviews mislead me. *I will say, the 39R was noticeably bigger in the straps than the 38R, and for that reason I did need to add an extra hole in the second buckle and that worked out well for me.* The Iron color is great and will match everything I ever wear, the style is basic which I love, and the comfort beats no other. I suppose for some people this shoe might be OK. For me it was money wasted. They rubbed the top of my toe (I have an overlapping toe on one foot). They also made my ankles hurt. Guess my feet are just weird.

I love Birkenstocks, and although these are beautiful, they aren't as comfortable as usual because the patent leather is a little stiff and unforgiving. I hope it eventually breaks in. Meanwhile, they look so good that I wear them when I won't be walking all day, and really like the soft footbed.

I got the adorable orange ones with the white buckle - they're great! They're super soft and have great support, plus they're lightweight. Be warned, though, they run very big. The size guide said 39 was for an 8.5 - 9 and 38 was for a 7.5 - 8. I always wear an 8.5 or 9 and I wear a 39 in Dansko, but the 39 of this shoe was giant. Thanks to Zappos great service, it was super easy to swap them for a smaller size -- the 38s are still roomy but with the adjustable buckle they're perfect. Pricey, but worth it!

I'm wearing these sandals now and these are my second pair of Birkenstocks. They are my most comfortable footwear I have! The more you wear them, the more comfortable they are. I think the suede uppers are softer on your feet.

This is the first time I have bought Birkenstock sandals. I have a wide foot and the uni-sex sandal was plenty wide. I had to put the buckle on the tightest hole, so not for narrow footed people.

I like the footbed of the shoes. I am keeping the shoes, but the lower strap rubs on toes. I put moleskin on underneath side of strap, which helped.

These shoes are amazing. Especially if you are going to be on your feet and/or walking around a lot! life saver. Tons of support and super cute.

I bought both the regular and soft foot beds, and prefer the regular footbed. the soft ones feel good, but my feet feel better after wearing the regular foot beds.

You put your feet in them and walk around. They don't fall off unless you walk like John Cleese in the Ministry of Funny Walks. The soft footbed is an improvement over the cement/cork hybrid footbed that regular Birkenstocks are made of.

I love this shoe, and have several in different colors. The size is consistent and the shoe is very comfortable My only complaint is that the black dye rubs off on my feet every time I wear them. I've never had this problem with any other Birkenstock, and I've worn them for years (like 35 or 40 years -- I'm an old hippie).

I love this style of Birkenstocks. Order a new pair every couple of years. This year, I ordered the usual style/usual size in black. Fit is consistent with previous shoes in the same style. I gave this 4 stars overall only because the black rubs off on my feet. It washes right off, but is annoying. I will go back to my usual tan shades next time.

I bought these sandals a couple of weeks ago, just to have something to wear for the summer. Although they are pricey, and it took 3 days for them to arrive, the shoes themselves were an excellent purchase. The suede is very stylish and the arch support is remarkable; if you're thinking of purchasing Birkenstocks through Zappos, then you've got my recommendation.

I love these shoes, but would not wear for walking distances! This is why I gave them four stars. They provide good arch support! The leather straps loosen with wear so I need to make more holes for the buckle. Zappos rocks!

Love these shoes - they are soft, footbed is comfortable, leather is soft on your feet. Love the adjustability on both straps - wish it were velcro though.

I've never owned a pair of Birks before. I saw the Arizona online and the style and how it had the big two straps across, I knew I just had to have it. I picked the easy classic color of hunter brown. I had a free over night shipping, very fast indeed. Tried the shoes on and it fit perfectly. The color was exactly the same as is shown on the website. I admit that I had to get used to walking around in this type of shoes and it needed a little breaking into. But at the end of the day, I felt that the shoe fitted perfectly with my feet. I hope that this sandal will last me forever because I know that this is going to be my sandal for life! I will definitely explore more of the Birkenstock's new style.

I was really looking forward to wearing my Birkenstock's. This would be my first pair. I am sad to say that the size was a tad small. I am generally a 37 in all European shoes. I keep my fingers crossed 38 will not be too big. I walk a lot so I need something comfy. Just standing in them makes my feet very happy.

My first pair of Birkies. I had to try the narrow width, and the soft footbed. I put them on, tightened up the straps, and wore them all day. No slopping or slapping, just amazingly comfortable. They still make my feet look like I am wearing snowshoes (I have unusually large feet), but really comfortable snowshoes. The next day I went back on Zappos and bought my second pair of Birkies, ones that have a dressier look.

Very comfortable but the soft leather straps do not stand up so you need to use your hands to get your feet in. You cannot just slip your feet in.

These are my first pair of Birkenstocks. I really like the natural feel of the sandal and look forward for when they are completely broken in.

Im a long time Birkie fan. The secret to comfort with these shoes is to wear them much looser than regular sandals. Adjust them how you think they should fit, then add one more hole before buckling. The foot bed is nice, it feels good on the foot. The leather strap across the toe is a little stiff, I usually get the ones with suede. I hope this particular type of leather will unstiffen a bit with wearing. Well made, Birkenstock\'s quality is still topnotch.

As a repeat Birkenstock buyer, I was interested in the soft footbed. They are really comfortable, but the footbed is not as raised in the toe area as they are with traditional Arizona\'s. However, the soft footbed is very comfortable, and I would recommend these sandals.

I love the new soft foot bed option. I do not think I will ever buy the original foot bed again. Please be aware however, my only issue with this shoe is the stiffness of the upper leather strap that is closest to the back of the shoe. It has taken a lot of work to get it soft enough to wear. This has not been a problem for me with my previous pairs of Arizona Birkenstock shoes. This really surprised me and now I have scabs on each foot where my skin was rubbed raw. I will definitely continue to buy this shoe, but will be more aware in the future.
