I know we don't buy B-stocks for fashion, but in this color (tea rose), these sandals are actually quite pretty, and I have received lots of compliments on them. Of course, they're comfortable. I wear a 9 - 9 1/2, and the 40 in these are fine. Love the soft footbed.

This was my first pair of Birkenstocks. I should have tried a pair on in a store because the instep was too high for my foot. Had the same problem with SAS shoes years ago. Gave the Birks to a friend who loves them!

Best Arizonas ever. The soft footbed makes a great shoe even better, and the nubuck is soft and wearable right out of the box. I've been wearing Birks for 30+ years and these are the most comfortable so far. I got the Tea Rose color, which says "Coral" on the box and is a really pretty color - slightly less bright than the photos. I got compliments the first time I wore them. Zappos + Birkenstock = win!

It took a good while to wear these in, and to get used to having so much arch support. I'm was used to flats and sandals with no support. But it was definitely worth the temporary discomfort. They're extremely comfortable and are my go-to everyday shoes, even when I'll be doing lots of walking. I definitely recommend them.

I am loving these shoes. Not only are they Red, they are also comfortable with a nice, squishy heel. Well, not that squishy, but certainly comfy. I have a high arch and skinny little feet that I have been told have no fat in them. That's why the soft heel is so important. These shoes, so far, are fantastic.

I'll admit it. I'm on the fashion bandwagon of Birkenstocks. As a style coach I appreciate some "ugly shoe" trends because many times those shoes are good for your feet. Orthopedic shoes aren't the sleekest, but they sure can keep your feet, legs, and low back healthy. Enter Birkenstocks. These shoes are so good for your feet. I buy the sandals for my flat-footed son and his feet and legs don't hurt. So, why should you buy these "ugly" shoes? They are designed for your foot health. The contoured footbed features arch support and a toe bar to help you grip as you walk. The soft footbed makes these very comfortable -- as in I don't ever want to take them off my feet. The design of the two strap sandal is iconic. I had purchased the white patent leather, brown leather, and the black leather options. The white patent seemed like it would scuff easily and show wear quickly. Plus the white color drew attention to my feet and made the shoe look a bit larger. Still cute and edgy, though, for a 2nd or 3rd pair of Birkenstocks. But with the budget I set aside I wasn't going to buy them. The brown ones were softer in visual appearance from the black. I liked them but they were slightly more "hippie" looking than I was going for. I'd put these as my second favorite -- I would buy them in another year or two. The black ones I had written off at first, but realized when I put them with some outfits in my closet that they were urban enough, edgy enough, and would wear really well. They had the desired effect on my spring/summer/fall wardrobe. I'd steer clear of the fake leather uppers--they do not wear well. Leather for the additional price is so worth it. I wear a size 8 and ordered the 38 average width. When I put them on my husband said, "Wow, your feet were made for Birkenstocks." I argue Birkenstocks were made for feet. I love mine and look forward to years of wear.

I have more than 15 pairs of Birkenstocks sandals-open back and closed, Bostons and Londons. I love them. I wear then almost all the time! I had foot issues this last year neuroma and plantar fasciitis. I needed shoes with backs to help my toes not grip so much and aggravate foot issues. I got a few other SOFT and closed back Birks to help me through this time. My feet are getting better! These beauties in gray patent were my treat for the summer! I decided my feet were well enough to try open back sandals again. They are great. they are wide (which I love!) the color is just like the picture if not a bit deeper. The sole is soft but supportive--just like I need! I love them! The leather (and it is leather) was a bit stiff right out of the box I wore them a couple times and got a slight sore spot on my foot at the highest place the top strap comes close to my inside ankle bone in the front. i fixed it simply by using a medium nail file to smooth the "sharp edge of leather" where it was rubbing and problem is solved! I think it would've worn and smoothed right there eventually but I just helped it along. I wear a 9-9 1/2 and always order a 40. these fit a bit wide .but i find the unisex styles usually do. I like them a bit loose in the width. The straps seem to come up high in the vamp to hold my foot perfectly without overdoing my gripping toes. LOVE THESE SHOES! If my budget would allow .i would get many more colors. :)

I love these shoes! I ordered a narrow, and I am glad I did. I have a slightly narrow foot, so they must run wide, They have stretched a bit as I have worn them. They are very comfortable, much more so than my hard soled Birkenstock clogs. I also like the "summer" look that the white buckles and soles give to the shoes.

Bought these for my high school daughter - told her she would still be wearing them in 20 years. They actually look relatively good in black! Hugely comfortable and great support so I'm happy she likes to wear them.

I love these shoes! I had another pair of the clog type birkenstocks but I don't think they had the soft footbed. The soft footbed makes a world of a difference!! I am typically around a 6.5-7 and the 37 fits perfectly!

The best sandal for all uses. Tried a bunch of alternatives for the last five years and none are anything like as good as this. Great in for office, leisure, or trekking. Lasts indefinitely. My US size varies from 11 to 12 and these Arizonas in 44 are a good size. I might have been okay with 43 but the straps give me some latitude either way.

I'm an avid follower of Pinterest and fashion blogs and couldn't help but notice the major resurgence in Birkenstock popularity. At first I resisted because I'm from hippie New England and I couldn't help but recall the '90s when my mom and all the moms I knew wore them, every day, and I hated how they looked. However, I have very flat feet and a standing desk, at work. Because of this, I was constantly have heel, leg, hip pain and needed something comfy. These fit the bill! I actually went to a local store, first, but they didn't have the color or width I wanted. I was able to determine my size though (39, I'm an 8-8.5 typically) and that I wanted a soft footbed. I then went on Zappos and found exactly what I was looking for! The Arizona Soft Footbed in Amalfi black leather size 39N. A couple comments: The guy at the store had told me NOT to dive right in wearing Birks for like 8 hours a day, the first time. He said to wear them a couple hours here and there to get used to them: this was the best advice ever. I started by wearing them around the house, then out to run errands and soon I was able to wear them for several hours/on long walks with my dog. I have to say I absolutely love them, they're the first shoes I've ever worn that don't give me heel pain. Additionally, I've grown to love the way they look. I will say, however (and this is the reason I gave them a 4 for comfort) after a long time they do start to give me a slight blister on my arch (again, flat feet) but I do think that will continue to get better over time. My only other comment is I've read several other reviews that have said to order the Narrow width even if you have normal-wide feet and I definitely don't agree with this. I have true narrow feet (shoe fitters are always commenting on it and I order narrow shoes when available) and the narrow Birks just barely fit me perfectly: if my feet were any wider, they would not. I say unless you've been told you have narrow feet or have worn narrow shoes, in the past, you'd be better off getting the regular width. Hope this review helps!

Can't believe I'm writing this review. Have tried every slide sandal out there and nothing worked. Ecco, Clarks, OluKai...nothing. Can't say these are the most stylish, but after just a week of breaking them in, they are phenomenal. I typically wear a 9.5 medium men's shoe. Ordered the 42 narrow and they are perfect. So happy to have finally found a sandal I can dress up and down that is supportive and comfortable, all at the same time.

So comfortable! Not at first the leather actually dug into my toes. But after 2-3 uses they are very easy on the feet - and great change to flip flops for me!

These are great Birks. I have already owned at least a dozen pair of Birkenstocks over the years and thought they were great. I have discovered that the soft footbed is wonderful for my plantar fasciitis. They do run wide and sometimes need frequent adjustment until they conform to your feet but they let you walk comfortably with support.

The shoes are so comfortable they defy description. They are like wearing bedroom slippers only with outstanding support. I highly recommend the soft foot bed.

My adult daughter introduced me to Zappos recently where I ordered my Birks...back in "style" even though I've worn them for years. I like the new soft footbed in some of their styles. Zappos was so easy since I knew the size I needed. Shipped free right to my door. I did return one pair due to color, but that also was an unusually easy process. Look for the return instructions in your box or online. Free returns. This is what customers want these days. I will definitely order from Zappos again soon.And I'll keep wearing my Birks. They take a few weeks to break in & follow the form of your foot, but once broken in they are wonderful. I wear them from spring 'til Fall.

The coolest sandals! Everyone needs a pair of these to restore their faith in truly comfy summer footwear.

I wear a 8.5 or 39 WW, so I purchased a 39 Regular. These fit perfectly, so if you are a WW, these will work. So, okay. The sandals are also comfortable and cute. Such a find for those of us who have wide feet. (I liked them so much that I found a red pair at another online store and snapped them up.)

I usually wear a women's size 6. Thinking these might run a bit large I got the 36 which claims to be a women's 5 - 5.5 but it was way too big. Pretty disappointing because they don't make them any smaller! If you have small feet, be wary of these! I'm sure they're great otherwise.

LOVE these sandals! I wear a size 39 and I have a wide foot. I usually wear a size 9 but the 40 is too long. If you have a narrow foot these might not work. I have the buckles on the 2nd hole so if they stretch out I'll be on the first hole as tight as they'll go. I LOVE the color. I've had so many compliments on them. I'm 56 years old now and I must have arch support. Birkenstocks are the BEST! I'm so glad they are "in style" now!

I've been a birkenstock fan ever since I saved up my babysitting money to buy my first pair in high school. Love the soft footbed in these, makes it easier to break them in.

Incredibly comfortable! Just as I had hoped. The soft footbed is like a nice pillow. The second day I wore them on a plane trip with lots of airport walking and they were great. I was a little worried about break-in but it was minimal. I usually wear a regular width but as per the reviews I ordered a narrow and am glad I did. These will be a staple!

I am in my mid 30's, love shoes and this sandal is the most opposite in terms of shoes that I have in my closet. I'm comfortable in high heels and flip flops equally. I got the narrow in white patent a week ago from Zappos because I found that the sandal was cute in a funny way and the ravings reviews about comfort. I live in Miami, average 70's all year long, so I knew that I could use this all year round. What I did not know was that all the amazing reviews are getting short! I'm the one who kicks her shoes as soon as I get to my house as long as I remember. These shoes are more comfortable than a cold floor on a hot day or a carpet in a cold one. I'm planning on getting more in different colors. The black ones in patent too look really cool. I'm a convert!
