As someone who takes indoor cardio seriously for general health, finding the right shoe is essential. After putting the Brooks Ghost 16 through its paces over the past few weeks I can confidently say its a standout performer in the world of indoor fitness.
Lets start with comfort. The Ghost 16 features a plush collar that wraps the ankle comfortably, providing a secure and cozy fit without any irritation. The heel cup is where this shoe truly shinesoffering a glove-like sensation that locks your foot in place, reducing any slippage during intense workouts.
The cushioning is another highlight. Its springy and responsive, absorbing impact effectively whether youre cycling or pounding away on a treadmill. This not only enhances comfort but also reduces strain on your joints, making longer sessions more manageable.
One of the most impressive aspects of the Ghost 16 is its outsole. The grip is outstanding, providing a secure foothold on various surfaces. I felt confident pushing my limits knowing that the shoe would keep me stable and supported. Durability also seems to be a strength as I see very little wear on the sole after about 150 miles on a stationary bike and about 30 miles on a treadmill.
Sizing-wise, I recommend going up a size from your usual. This adjustment ensures a great fit, especially in the roomy toe box where your toes can fit comfortably without feeling cramped.
In summary, the Brooks Ghost 16 is a top-notch indoor cardio shoe. It excels in comfort, stability, and performance, making it ideal for stationary biking and treadmill sessions. If youre looking for a reliable companion to elevate your indoor workouts, give the Ghost 16 a tryyou wont be disappointed.

These shoes are a comfortable fit, similar to the Ghost 14.
There is a bit more lift under the heel, which takes some getting used to.

Supportive shoes with an amazing wide base to ensure stability, with every step being smooth even on uneven terrain. They also provide a firm springiness, givning me the extra boost of energy to keep my momentum strong. I greatly appreciate these shoes come with high quality laces. Good looking shoe with the neon and grey contrasting colors. I wear these to work out also for everyday use.

As a casual runner in my 30's who recently slipped out of my regular exercise routine, getting a pair of running shoes I was excited to run in was a great motivator to get back into the groove.
Comfort is the most important factor to me, and these shoes fit true to size and were comfortable straight out of the box. From the moment I slipped them on, they felt twitchy yet incredibly supportive.
If you're familiar with the previous generations of Ghosts, you won't be surprised by the look of the 16's. Not a ton of change in terms of the aesthetic. Some might call it a bit bland, but I call it classic!
I appreciate that the fabric is easy to clean; a damp rag is more than capable of cleaning scuffs and dirt away. That said, the material isn't great about repelling water, so once they get wet, they tend to stay wet for longer than I'd like.
In sum, this is a comfortable and dependable shoe. I've enjoyed every mile in them so far and am looking forward to many more to come.

The Brooks Ghost 16 are a great pair of shoes for both running and walking. Recently I have been dealing with plantar fasciitis and my feet have hurt running and walking in most shoes. However, these shoes have been perfect for my feet, allowing me to continue training.
I also appreciated both the fit and the design! I am a size 12 and the shoes fit perfect for my feet. The design looks great and the shoes pair nicely with most casual outfits.

I didn't like the other Ghost models in the past, but after being let down by the performance and look of the Glycerin 21 I return my pair and decided to try the Ghost 16. This is exactly what I was looking for. The Ghost is not to firm and not to squishy. It's a perfect balance of the two.

I have difficulty with my running style causing excessive wear on my shoes. Just 3 miles can visibly affect the soles.
The Brooks Ghost 16 running shoes have remedied this issue. In the 2 weeks since I have been wearing them, there is no noticeable wear on the tread and I feel lighter and more supported during runs. In addition, my run time has greatly improved and I have less fatigue in my feet.
The shoes are made of high quality material, are soft and extremely comfortable and fit perfectly. The design is attractive enough that I can wear them out with a polo and a nice pair of jeans if needed.
I am extremely satisfied with these shoes and highly recommend!

Overall, the Ghost 16 Brooks running shoes are great! Very supportive soles with lightweight and breathable uppers. Foot feels snug, no slippage. The design is simple which I prefer, but with a pop of color from the soles that you can see from all sides. And most importantly, the shoe offers solid support while running, but not too much where your foot feels too elevated which also means not an overaggressive amount of bounciness.
The shoes run true to size and fit for my size 10 feet. The laces tie well and are not too long or too short.

Ive been training in these Brooks for a few weeks and digging them so far!
First thing I noticed was the (lack of) weight: light! Yet it still feels like I have a solid platform underneath my foot, with tons of cushion for any kind of distance.
My favorite features is the upper material. Some kind of magic makes the fabric soft yet snug and durable. Feels great! Temps have been cold to mild here in the mountains, and its proved breathable through those.
I have the gray/black/lime green color pattern. Im not a fan of super loud running shoes, and these pair with just about everything without looking heavy or overly dad-ish like some mono-color shoes can.
My only disappointment is the pronation control. Granted this is a neutral shoe and I should probably be in something with bit more support, but do find my foot rolling in a bit more than Id like.
Overall, this is a go-to road shoe that does not disappoint. Thumbs up Brooks!

Reviewing this shoe after putting in 45 miles of running and walking in 45 - 75* weather over the past two weeks. 6'0'', 210lb male.
The Brooks Ghost 16 is a classic high drop, neutral trainer that is good for mixed use from running to walking and standing. The shoe's main update is an updated DNA Loft v3 midsole which does reduce some weight and add a little airiness to the ride. For me, the Ghost 16 is definitely doing its' job as a training shoe. The biggest plus for me is in the fit. The shoe feels very low in volume and it feels like it cradles my foot well as I push through the miles. Though a tad more space through the midfoot would be a nice addition.
From a fit perspective the material has decent comfort, but the volume is a bit too low in the midfoot and can squeeze the top of your foot. Otherwise pretty good and comfortable lockdown elsewhere. The Ghost will be your workhorse training shoe capable of giving you a predictable ride mile after mile. It's stable too - everything lines up pretty well here for a neutral shoe. For $140 you ought to get your money's worth in mileage.
Overall, for a neutral, daily training shoe without extra bells and whistles, it provides a solid if unspectacular ride. There is an added benefit if you like a tighter fit from the laces. With a high drop, neutral training shoe, it a very familiar feel to it. I will be keeping this shoe in my training roster for sure!

I am an avid runner and it has been a while since I found a pair of running shoes that Ive liked this much out of the gate. They fit me perfectly with just the right amount of padding and support, while still being light and breathable. They have a simple design, but look good with most of my workout clothes. It normally would take a few weeks to break in a new pair of running shoes, but these were great from the first wear. I would highly recommend these and will definitely buy them again.

First thing I noticed was that the Ghost 16 are made in Indonesia, the Ghost 15 are made in Vietnam. Only time will tell if the quality and duration are the same as the 15s.
First use seems the cushioning is better, fit is the same as always. Im a senior (75) big (65/240) so I use on treadmill 55 minutes, 6 x a week.
Always great Brooks quality and fit.

The fit is good and it is a very comfortable shoe. I'm very disappointed by the changes Brooks has made since the Ghost 14. The Ghost 15 didn't fit as well as the 14 and I'm glad the 16 seems to be back on track. I would give a higher rating for the fit and feel of the shoe but can't get over the reduced amount of tread. The change to the tread between the 14 and 16 are significant. I don't have a newer pair of 15's to compare but have included photos showing the difference. We sure aren't getting as much for the price.

This is a good update to the Ghost.
Fit is almost identical to the Ghost 15 with a little more cushioning. My only gripe with the shoe is that the additional support around the toe area will some times collapse and leave a dent in the toe for no reason.

I was really disappointed that the Ghost 16 was less comfortable than my previous Ghost versions. The toe box was extra wide even though I order a regular/medium width, and the height of the arch was much much lower than all of my previous Ghost version.
I returned two pairs of the preordered Ghost 16's.
Again, very disappointed.
